Move over, Cristiano Ronaldo and step aside, David Beckham - there's a new style king in town, and he goes by the name of Thembinkosi Lorch.
Whether you know him as 'Nyoso' or simply as one of South Africa's most talented footballers, one thing is certain: Lorch is claiming his spot on the global fashion stage, one fit at a time.
If you're among his hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram, you already know what time it is - Lorch isn't just serving skills on the field, he's serving serious looks off it.
As we say in isiZulu, 'uyawudla ukotini' (loosely translated as 'this person can dress').
Trendy and dapper, these two words sum up Lorch's off-field image.
Since his move to Morocco to join Wydad Athletic Club (on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns), the footballer has not missed a beat when it comes to maintaining - or even elevating - his fashion game.

Lorch has mastered the art of blending high fashion with everyday cool. He has a knack for making luxury fashion feel accessible and aspirational.
His fashion choices are never boring - bold prints, designer sneakers and playful accessories are staples in his wardrobe.
His signature look often includes standout pieces like chunky chains, statement watches and trendy bucket hats.
But it's not just what he wears - it's how he wears it. There's a confidence, a swagger, that's uniquely Lorch.
His streetwear is elevated by immaculate attention to detail. Whether he's wearing a simple white tee or a fully branded Gucci set, Lorch always adds that final touch - whether it's a limited-edition sneaker or an unexpected pop of colour - to tie the look together.
One viral moment that had fashion lovers talking was when he posted a snap of himself wearing the Gucci Supreme Ace Mickey Mouse sneakers, a beige pair that retails for around $720 (R10 700).
The sneakers were part of Gucci's Lunar New Year capsule collection, celebrating the Year of the Rat - a stylish nod to Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
But that's not where the Gucci obsession ends. Scroll through his timeline and you'll spot a growing collection: from hats and tees to belts, bags and classic kicks.
One of the most refreshing things about Lorch's fashion is his versatility. He doesn't confine himself to a single look. One day it's tailored formalwear, the next, it's ripped jeans, sneakers and bucket hats.
His evolving style has not only won him fans across Africa but is also setting new standards for how athletes can express themselves off the pitch.
Inspired? Here are five ways to style luxury wear the street way - Lorch style: Pair a designer shirt or jacket with plain jeans and classy sneakers for a balanced street-luxury look.
Let your kicks do the talking. Invest in one bold, branded sneaker and build your outfit around it.
Add chains, watches, bucket hats or branded caps to your wardrobe to elevate even the most basic outfit. Details make the difference.
Lorch often rocks neutral tones with a single standout accessory. Try an all-black outfit with a bright bag or hat to channel that effortless cool.
Don't shy away from eye-catching prints. Match them with solid neutrals or clash them boldly. Luxury fashion today is all about fearlessness.

Gogo Maweni and Sabelo Mgube welcome twins, strengthening their bond

Traditional healer and media personality Makgotso Mofokeng, known as Gogo Maweni and her husband Sabelo Mgube family has grown with the addition of their twins. Image: Instagram/dr_maweni Reality star Gogo Maweni and her husband, Sabelo Mgube, have publicly shared that they have welcomed their twins. Congratulations have poured in for the celebrity couple, whose journey to parenthood has been documented on their reality show. Real name Makhotso Le-Ann Mofokeng, she made a joint Instagram post with her husband, sharing a carousel of images that showed the new arrivals. "10 days ago, our love as well as our bond got a whole lot stronger," shared the happy parents. The couple's post was filled with congratulatory messages from celebrities and their fans. Last year, she opened up about using IVF to conceive children within her marriage. Speaking with DJ Sbu on The Hustlers Corner, shared that they were having twins. 'We work so hard, and the reason we work so hard is to be able to afford certain things. There's IVF. You go and they take out your egg for the first month, then they take out your egg the second month, then they put it back. I went to a gynaecologist and asked to be referred for IVF and we're here now,' she said. The 'Izangoma Zodumo' reality TV star and her husband last year, celebrated their love with a traditional wedding at his homestead in Maqongqo, outside Pietermaritzburg. The arrival of the twins is good news for the couple. Gogo Maweni had a bumpy start to the year thanks to a run-in with the law. Maweni spent more than a week behind bars on charges, including alleged assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) from an incident dating back to 2019. She was later released on R5000 bail.

Lerato Kganyago speaks out after being followed by unknown men

Lerato said she laid a trap at a restaurant to catch the 'thugs'. Media personality Lerato Kganyago says she has allegedly been followed by 'thugs' for some time, adding that a police officer allegedly failed to intervene when she recently confronted one of the suspects. The Metro FM presenter said she had long been aware that she was being followed until she set a trap and managed to confront one of them. 'I bravely got out of the car by myself, which I don't advise, and confronted one of them… standing next to a uniformed police officer, who said nothing while this confrontation happened, and only walked away when they realised I had been recording all of them… I only did this because I knew I had 'invisible' security around me… They are thugs!' she added. 'ShxtsNGigs' bring the heat - and the haters -with 'Daddy's Home' SA tour

ShxtsNGigs are set to land in South Africa for their 'Daddy's Home' tour amid the mixed reviews. Image: Instagram The 'ShxtsNGigs' podcast duo, James Duncan and Fuhad Dawodu, have revealed that they are bringing their 'Daddy's Home' tour to South Africa, but not everyone is excited. Known for their unapologetic humour and viral content, they will be taking their podcast live to Johannesburg and Cape Town in 2026. The pair are also notorious for their brutally honest and sidesplitting commentary on their 'Icks' and 'Twitter Hall of Fame' segments, where they discuss sex, relationships and everything pop culture. The 'ShxtsNGigs' podcast has gained immense popularity over the years, entertaining millions with their unfiltered takes and infectious laughs. The pair took to their social media with an announcement promo video, which shows them in a private jet video calling talented South African dancer Robot Boii, asking him to teach them some local moves. The announcement, however, has been met with mixed reactions from fans and people who have consumed their previous content and did not find it tasteful. Back in 2023, Duncan and Dawodu rubbed some South African netizens the wrong way when they poked fun at how South African Twitter (formerly X) interacts online. During their 'Twitter Hall of Fame' segment, they were discussing a viral thread where people shared when they realised their supposed friends hated them. The duo zeroed in on a particularly striking confession: 'When she moved in with my boyfriend.' They then noted how it was a South African thread where people would start their tweets in English, then proceed to end it in their native language, calling it 'gibberish' and 'mouth noise'. They added that it made them feel left out because they, too, want to understand the rest of the tweet. This understandably upset many South Africans who called the podcast hosts out for insulting their diverse culture. The duo later apologised after the backlash, citing that they use the term 'gibberish' for anything they don't understand. Now, with their announcement, some of their fans are excited and are hoping to get their hands on the tickets before they are sold out, while others are just not comprehending why the duo is coming to Mzansi after their offensive comments X user @GoldenMazinyo commented: 'Yo! It's not a good idea for you to waltz into South Africa and expect us to forget the 'gibberish' chat. We have no place for ignorant, pompous, uncultured black Europeans who insult other people's languages for sh*ts and giggles.' 'I really hope nobody buys those tickets after the vile language y'all used against South Africans and their languages,' said @Alwayshurtman. The tour is set to kick off on January 24, 2026, at The Golden Dome in Johannesburg and then to the Grand Arena, GrandWes, in Cape Town on January 27.
