Vietnamese beauty queen arrested over fake ‘health' gummies
Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, 26, a former winner of an international beauty pageant, declared to her social media followers that a single one of the 'gummy' sweets contained the same amount of fibre as a plate of vegetables. Now she faces disgrace and potential imprisonment after the popular product was proved to be little more than a laxative pill.
On Monday, Tien was arrested as part of the investigation into Kera Supergreens gummies, having already being fined for failing to disclose that she was paid for her enthusiastic endorsements of the product.

Peruvian woman accused of trying to smuggle cocaine into Bali using sex toy
A Peruvian woman has been arrested in Bali after allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine into the Indonesian resort island using a sex toy and hiding drugs in her underwear, police said. The 42-year-old, identified only by her initials NS, arrived at Bali's international airport from Qatar on 12 August when authorities became suspicious. 'The customs officers suspected her behaviour, and after consulting with the police, they did a further check on her,' Bali police narcotics unit director, Radiant, who like many Indonesians has one name, told a press conference. The officers found 1.4kg (3.1lbs) of cocaine inside a sex toy hidden in her genitals and in her underwear. Police also accused her of smuggling dozens of ecstasy pills. The Peruvian woman told the police she was hired to transport the drugs to Indonesia by a man she met on the dark web in April in return for $20,000, said Radiant. The woman has been charged under Indonesia's harsh narcotics law and could face the death penalty if found guilty. Last month, a Bali court sentenced a 46-year-old Argentine to seven years in prison after she was found guilty of smuggling 244 grams of cocaine wrapped with a condom that she hid inside her genitals. Indonesia has some of the world's toughest drug laws. There are dozens of traffickers on death row in the country, including a 69-year old British woman convicted of smuggling cocaine. Indonesia last carried out executions in 2016, killing one Indonesian and three Nigerian drug convicts by firing squad.

‘Exciting' new Channel 4 adventure show with huge cash prize and VERY familiar format set to air later this year
IN an era obsessed with Baby Boomers, Millennials and Gen Z, Channel 4 is giving us a TV show that cuts through the generational divides. This week, at the Edinburgh TV Festival, it is announcing Worlds Apart, a contest where a young and old person are paired up to complete a challenge on the road. 7 7 With more than a whiff of Race Across The World to the format, the teams of two will be sent to Japan, where there is a stronger emphasis on care and respect for the elderly. And if that wasn't enough of a feat, many of the contestants vying for the £50,000 cash prize will be Brits who have never travelled abroad before. Channel 4 commissioning editor Genna Gibson said: 'I've seen how generations can feel miles apart, but bring them together and you realise they share more than you think. 'Japan, with its ancient traditions and cutting-edge modern life is the perfect backdrop for their journeys.' Unsurprisingly, Worlds Apart is being made by South Shore, which was behind Freddie Flintoff 's young cricketers show Field Of Dreams on BBC One, and The Real Marigold Hotel, about veterans going on adventures, for BBC Two. Both shows endeavoured to shatter stereotypes about young and old. RO CAN'T RESIST A REVAMP TOP Boy creator Ronan Bennett is giving World War Two drama Army Of Shadows a bold new twist. His Channel 4 show was inspired by Jean-Pierre Melville's 1969 film and Joseph Kessel's seminal book. Ronan's project was unveiled last night at the Edinburgh TV Festival. The movie and novel dramatised the emergence of the French Resistance to the Nazi occupation of France. Ronan has created a new story of how resistance takes shape in a near-future authoritarian Britain. Under de facto American occupation, a former British army officer builds a covert cell from scratch as young recruits fight to reclaim their country. Ronan said: 'Democracy is in clear and present danger. 'This is a story about commitment, resistance and defiance in the coming age.' MOFFAT IN No10 DRAMA SHERLOCK and Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat is making a drama about life inside the Prime Minister's Downing Street home. Simply called Number 10, it will delve into what it is like to live in one of the most powerful places on Earth – an old terrace with mice and a lift that never works. 7 Channel 4 confirmed it was making the programme as the four-day Edinburgh TV Festival got under way yesterday. Sue Vertue, executive producer for Hartswood Films, which is creating the show for C4, said: 'We are excited to be working with Channel 4 on Number 10, which is a passion project for Steven. 'He says there are three famous doors in the world; he's done 221B Baker Street and the Tardis – now he's going to do the real one.' C4 have yet to announce the lead stars, but given the pedigree of Steven and Hartswood, its sure to attract huge names. GLENN IS STILL KILLING IT GLENN CLOSE plays a cantankerous killer in new Channel 4 drama Maud next year – having won the part thanks to her bunny-boiler role in film Fatal Attraction. The 1987 thriller saw her character Alex Forrest terrorise married lawyer Dan (Michael Douglas) after a one-night stand. Even though almost 40 years have passed, I'm told the film helped her bag the lead in the upcoming six-parter. Gwawr Lloyd, acting head of drama, at C4 said: 'Maud is a deliciously dark and daring drama and the amazing Glenn Close will bring a thrilling complexity to the role.' Filming for Maud, which is based on the short stories by Swedish writer Helene Tursten, will take place in London later this year. GAME SHOW TO RIVAL ALL OTHERS ITV doesn't appear to be hiding the similarities to Disney+ show Rivals in its teaser image for new game show, Nobody's Fool. Revealed at the start of the Edinburgh TV Festival, it sees two stars of the Jilly Cooper drama – Emily Atack and Danny Dyer – pose up as hosts. 7 7 7 And the pair are inside a stately home, just like the one in Rivals where lead character, saucy MP Rupert Campbell-Black, lives. While Emily looks quite different to her character Sarah Stratton, Danny's moustache and smart attire make him virtually indistinguishable from businessman Freddie Jones. Commenting on the show, due to air next year, Danny said: 'This is a blinder of a game show. 'Emily and I had a brilliant time making it and, much like the audience at home will be, we were kept guessing right until the very end.' Emily added: 'It's so exciting to be part of something this fresh.' Hmm, not entirely fresh though, is it?

Brit tourist beaten by mob ‘after hitting woman with motorbike while pulling wheelie' faces 10yrs in jail as victim dies
A BRIT tourist faces up to 10 years behind bars after reportedly killing a woman while attempting a wheelie on his motorbike. Brandon Mills, 22, from Doncaster, allegedly slammed into Jurairat Petchraksa, 49, outside a bar in Pattaya, Thailand before being beaten up by an angry mob. 7 7 7 7 The 22-year-old initially faced charges of reckless driving causing serious injury, which is punishable with up to three years in jail or a fine of up to 60,000 baht (roughly £1,365) - or both. But following Jurairat's death, he could face up to 10 years behind bars and a fine of up to 200,000 baht (around £4,550). Cops said the suspect was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs but did admit to causing the accident and has since compensated Jurairat's family with 30,000 baht (roughly £680) for medical expenses. Mills has since been released from custody but his passport has been seized to prevent him from leaving the country. Police Lieutenant Colonel Itthiporn said: "More evidence and witness statements are now needed for this case. "The suspect was not under the influence of alcohol or any kind of drugs but he admitted causing the accident. "We are waiting for a full forensic report from the hospital into the injuries and the cause of death. The suspect will not be allowed to leave Thailand." The Brit reportedly lost control and crashed into the Petchraska's pink Honda bike while attempting to lift the front wheel of his rented scooter. Emergency services found the mum-of-two lying in a pool of blood at around 11 pm local time on August 14 in the Soi Bong Koch 8 area of the city. She was rushed to hospital, where she was treated for life-threatening injuries. Horror moment Brit is dragged out of holiday bar and beaten by staff for refusing to pay eye-watering £460 drinks bill But despite medics' best efforts, she tragically died on Sunday afternoon. Confirming the woman's death today, a rescue officer said: "Yes, she has passed away at the hospital. We only transported her there." Officers said the Brit, believed to be involved in the crash, gave his name as Brandon James Holmes. But local news reports into previous criminal cases in the UK suggest he is actually called Brandon Mills. According to reports, Mills was convicted of dealing heroin and crack cocaine in Sheffield in 2022 and received a suspended 14 month sentence in a Young Offender Institution. Emotional tributes have since poured in for the mum who was "everyone's angel". One said: "Jurairat was like a mother to me. She was everyone's friend. I can only pray that she is in heaven now and not suffering. "I hope that there will be justice for what happened to her. She did not harm anyone, there was no reason for her to die like that. She was everyone's angel." 7 7
