While having an All Pro rookie season Raiders TE Brock Bowers still got his degree on time
Bowers left the Universoty of Georgia after his junior season as the bet tight end in the country twice over. He was a consecutive All American and Mackey Award winner and was more than ready to turn pro. For many college athletes that means their attention shifts to their pro career.

Not Bowers.
Not only did he choose to finish his college education and get his degree in finance, he did it on time. Getting his degree four years after he started.
That's remarkable for anyone, really, let alone someone who turned pro, which would mean much of his time would now to take with preparing for games each week. It becomes downright astonishing when you consider what Bowers was able to accomplish on the football field while still apparently spending a good deal of his spare time on his studies.
Bowers broke a rookie tight end receiving yards record that stood for six decades, while setting a rookie receptions record (112) and the Raiders franchise receptions record.

Don't know how he does it, but it's quite impressive.

Longtime NFL running back Latavius Murray retires at 35
After a long and fruitful NFL career, running back Latavius Murray is retiring from football. The 35-year-old, who last played for the Bills in 2023, announced the news Wednesday on Instagram. 'They never saw a pro in me,' Murray captioned his post, which included a reel of his career highlights. 'But 11 years later, I showed what a pro really looks like.' All Pro EDGE Micah Parsons demands trade from Cowboys and Raiders lead odds to get him
Today LB Micah Parsons dropped a bombshell on the Cowboys. Making it very clear he has had it with Jerry Jones's games and no longer wants to play for the team. With no ambiguity, he demanded a trade. Of course, there are 31 other teams who would say 'yes, please' to getting the two-time All Pro and former AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. He's just 26 years of age, has four Pro Bowls in four seasons, and 52.5 career sacks. He is as consistent as they come in his elite play. But though every team would want him, not all of them can afford him. Or have a large enough need to make that move. The Raiders are one of the teams that fits both. They could absolutely use him and have the money to make it happen. Which is probably why Bovada has the Raiders leading the odds to land him. This offseason the Raiders made Maxx Crosby the league's highest paid non-QB on a three-year extension. They also re-signed Malcolm Koonce to a one-year deal to start on the other side. But other than those two, they don't have much. And Koonce, though he earned the starting job last season before he was injured still has to prove he can do be the long term answer across from Crosby. Though Parsons said in his farewell/trade demand that he went to the Cowboys several times ahead of other edge rushers getting their deals and didn't care if that meant he was leaving money on the table. But that doesn't mean he would take a deal for less than them now. So, if the Raiders did somehow swing a deal to get Parsons to Las Vegas, it's possible they would be making two edge rushers the richest at their position in the same offseason. That would be something.

No. 37 Who's wearing it now: S Trey Taylor The former Jim Thorpe Award winner from Air Force was the Raiders selection in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He enters his second season having played sparingly last season, appearing in nine games and seeing zero snaps on defense. At this point his most notable moment was mocking Patrick Mahomes with a fan's Kermit puppet during training camp last year. If he's going to change that, he'll need to work his way up the depth chart. Who wore it best: CB Lester Hayes One of the greatest cornerbacks in Raiders franchise history. He spent his entire ten-year NFL career with the Raiders. In that time, he helped the Raiders to win two Super Bowls including 1980 when he had a league-leading 13 interceptions. In total he had 39 career interceptions and made five Pro Bowls. Some believe he should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is only being kept out because of his generous use of Stick-em in those days. But plenty of players used it and it wasn't illegal, so it's not right for him to be discounted for it.
