We hit 37 in our Raiders countdown to kickoff. Who wore it best and who's wearing it now
No. 37
Who's wearing it now: S Trey Taylor
The former Jim Thorpe Award winner from Air Force was the Raiders selection in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He enters his second season having played sparingly last season, appearing in nine games and seeing zero snaps on defense. At this point his most notable moment was mocking Patrick Mahomes with a fan's Kermit puppet during training camp last year. If he's going to change that, he'll need to work his way up the depth chart.
Who wore it best: CB Lester Hayes
One of the greatest cornerbacks in Raiders franchise history. He spent his entire ten-year NFL career with the Raiders. In that time, he helped the Raiders to win two Super Bowls including 1980 when he had a league-leading 13 interceptions.
In total he had 39 career interceptions and made five Pro Bowls. Some believe he should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is only being kept out because of his generous use of Stick-em in those days. But plenty of players used it and it wasn't illegal, so it's not right for him to be discounted for it.

T.J. Hockenson out of Vikings practice with injury
Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson is out of practice today with an injury. Hockenson was injured on Saturday and is out at least for today. Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell referred to Hockenson's injury as a "hip, leg, back -- whatever you want to classify it at," via Judd Zulgad. The Vikings are still without sixth-round rookie tight end Gavin Bartholomew, who is still on the physically unable to perform list with a back injury. They recently signed tight end Nick Vannett to help with depth at the position.

Cinco de Buy Low: UDFA looks to show Cowboys the draft isn't the only place to find a star
The Dallas Cowboys made a tough decision. With a ton of holes to fill, as well as the usual concerns about depth at every position, there weren't going to be enough bullets in the proverbial gun to hit every target during the draft. The club didn't sign any veteran players at the safety position in free agency, moving the onus to address the position to the draft haul. With their nine selections this past April, the club didn't use a single one on the safety position, making it clear the idea was to run it back with the weapons they had, and hope the new coaching regime would be able to change their play. The team didn't grab any collegiate talent until the UDFA period, where they named Syracuse safety Alijah 'Cinco' Clark. A transfer from Rutgers, Clark spent the last three seasons with the Orange before an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl put him on the radar of several NFL teams. Clark was a cornerback in high school, the No. 2 recruit from New Jersey in 2021, and survived a coaching change after he planted his feet in Syracuse. He won defensive MVP honors in the team's Holiday Bowl win over Washington State. Rundown Position: Safety Age: 221 Height: 6-foot-1 Weight: 187 pounds Hometown: Camden, NJ High School: Camden College: Rutgers, Syracuse (Film Study Video) Draft: 2025 Undrafted Free Agent Contract: Three-year contract (2025), $2.175 million 2025 Base Salary: $840,000, $234,000 Profile Clark's guaranteed money of $234,000 was the seventh-highest in all of the NFL, and is indicative of just how much the league thought of him. Normally guarantees only get that high when multiple teams are trying to sign a prospect. His scouting report speaks to his versatility as a DB, lining up in both safety roles as well as nickel corner and sometimes on the boundary, too. From Dane Brugler's The Beast: Clark's speed, explosiveness and physical profile are more good than great, but he likes to play with urgency when driving on plays and arriving with pop. Though the hunger to make plays is there, he doesn't put himself in position to get his hands on the football often enough. Overall, Clark has the versatile skill set and toughness to compete for a nickel role at the next level, but his college tape leaves you wanting more from a playmaking standpoint. His upside on special teams will help his chances of sticking in the NFL. The Cowboys know their top four corners for 2025, unless they make a move to save some money under the salary cap. Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson have been entrenched as starters, with Juanyeh Thomas and Markquese Bell eyeballing Wilson's spot. How to watch Las Vegas Raiders vs. Seattle Seahawks preseason game: First time seeing new regime in action
How to watch Las Vegas Raiders vs. Seattle Seahawks preseason game: First time seeing new regime in action originally appeared on A to Z Sports. The first time we get to see the Las Vegas Raiders' new regime in action is on Thursday, in a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. There are a few things that would make this game much more exciting if it was a regular season game, than just a regular-old, regular season game. For one, this is Geno Smith's former team the Raiders are playing, and, of course, Pete Carroll's which he had been with since 2010 till before last year. Not only that, but three years ago, when the Raiders played the Seahawks, Josh Jacobs, who is now on the Green Bay Packers, walked the game off with a big-time rushing touchdown. Obviously, things are much different now than they were then. In fact, there aren't many players who are on the team who were on that team. This is a new regime, and we will get to see what it looks like first-hand on Thursday. But it's a preseason game, so take everything with a grain of salt. And with it being a preseason game, the question stands, will you even be able to watch? View the to see embedded media.
