The Vatican is convening over 1,000 priests, friars, and lay digital communicators in Rome this week, aiming to explore how social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, blogs and apps can bolster outreach and help reconnect with a younger demographic.
The initiative is part of a broader Jubilee of Youth programme, which begins on July 28, 2025 and includes a dedicated segment on Digital Missionaries and Catholic Influencers.
Leading the way are a few photogenic clerics whose large online followings aren't just about appearances - they represent a new wave of evangelisation.

The mother-daughter duo stayed at the luxurious Malewane Lodge at Royal Malewane in Mpumalanga, a location renowned for its opulent safari experience. Wasting no time after landing, they headed straight to their accommodation and were greeted by an entirely different kind of traffic. 'We literally saw Pumba,' Clark laughed, referring to the warthog character from "The Lion King". 'We even saw a giraffe crossing the road and so many elephants!' Their stay was filled with authentic South African hospitality. Clark embraced local cuisine, enjoying a traditional braai where she tasted pap and chakalaka for the first time. Game drives through the vast landscapes of Kruger allowed her to witness Africa's iconic wildlife, including the famous Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Its accessibility and range of luxury to budget accommodations make it a bucket-list location for travellers worldwide. Clark's African adventure comes after a major life change. Earlier this year, the TikTok star revealed plans to relocate from Australia to the United States - a move that sparked mixed reactions from her fans. While some applauded her courage, others questioned the decision to leave behind Australia's beaches, free healthcare, and laid-back lifestyle. 'There's a huge part of me that doesn't want to go,' Clark admitted. 'But I'm curious, and I don't want to have regrets.' She acknowledged the challenge of leaving her eldest daughter, Latisha, in Queensland, but said she is ready to embrace new opportunities in America, despite feeling 'scared.' 'I need all the support I can get,' she told her followers. 'This is scary - but I'm going to give it a go.'
