He mentioned that just a day earlier, Union home minister Amit Shah presided over an event where over 60,000 constables were inducted into the UP Police, including more than 12,000 women. He said that earlier jobs were auctioned but now jobs were being given on merit.
Yogi highlighted the difference made in UP by his govt after 2017. Speaking on the law and order situation, the CM said that UP was now riot and crime-free.
"The baton of law will strike so hard that it will be remembered for seven generations," the CM said, adding that a time-bound framework has also been established to resolve revenue disputes.
The CM added that UP shed its earlier tag of a 'Bimaru' state and emerged as one of India's leading economies. He also spoke about the development taking place in Ambedkar Nagar, such as the construction of a medical college, polytechnic and tourism infrastructure.
The CM also hit out at opposition parties and those opposing the state's development and indulging in family-centric politics. He accused them of exploiting caste for personal political gain, using divisive tactics, and attempting to dampen the public's enthusiasm. "They engage in a naked dance of casteism and try to fracture the unity of society," he said, asserting that his govt is firmly committed to exposing and confronting such disruptive forces.

UAE coast guard evacuates 24 people from oil tanker crash east of the critical Strait of Hormuz
Representative AI image The Emirati national guard said it evacuated 24 people from an oil tanker Tuesday after a collision between two ships just east of the world's most critical oil chokepoint, the Strait of Hormuz. The crude oil tanker, ADALYNN, was bound for Egypt's Suez Canal when the crash in the Gulf of Oman happened. NASA FIRMS satellite data showed heat signatures in the area early morning. The United Arab Emirates national guard said it deployed its coast guard's search and rescue boats to the site, 24 nautical miles off the country's coast, and that the crew was evacuated to the port of Khor Fakkan. British maritime security firm Ambrey had earlier said that the incident was not security-related, as the days-long conflict between Israel and Iran, which is just across the Strait of Hormuz from neighbouring Oman, continued to unfold. The strait is the strategic maritime entryway to the Persian Gulf and sees about a fifth of the world's oil pass through it, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. In 2024, an average of 20 million barrels of oil travelled through it daily. After Israel launched airstrikes against Iran on June 13, worry mounted over whether the Islamic Republic might block the waterway. Maritime ship experts say shipowners are increasingly wary of using the waterway, with some ships having tightened security and others cancelling routes there. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo As the Israel-Iran warfare intensified over the weekend, hundreds of ships in the strait saw spotty navigation signals and had to rely more on radar, though it wasn't immediately clear what caused Tuesday's incident. The Financial Times reported Friday that the world's largest publicly listed oil tanker company, Frontline, said it would turn down new contracts to sail into the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz after the Israel-Iran conflict broke out. Meanwhile, oil prices continued to climb as U.S. futures were lower Tuesday morning after Israel's military issued an evacuation warning to 330,000 people in Iran's capital, Tehran. Tuesday's rescue came less than two weeks after the UAE national guard airlifted an injured man from an oil tanker to an Emirati hospital.

Trump order denies treatment to US army veterans; political allegiance and marital status new criteria; doctors allowed to reject patients
AP file photo New rules at US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals now allow doctors and healthcare staff to refuse treatment to veterans who are Democrats or unmarried. The changes were introduced quietly after an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump in January, and they have already taken effect in some facilities. Earlier, VA staff were explicitly prohibited from discriminating based on political affiliation, marital status, or union membership. That language has now been removed from the department's bylaws. The VA says that 'all eligible veterans will always be welcome' and that they are still entitled to treatment. However, under the new rules, individual staff members can now refuse to treat patients based on personal traits that are not specifically protected under federal law. The new rules, accessed by The Guardian, apply not just to doctors but also to psychologists, dentists, and several other healthcare roles. They also permit hiring discrimination against medical staff based on similar personal factors. The executive order was mainly aimed at removing federal protections for transgender individuals. It also banned the use of terms like 'transgender' in VA clinics and led to cuts in gender-affirming care. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Doctor: This 10-Second Morning Ritual Helps Drain Swollen Legs (See How) goldentree Learn More Undo These changes are part of a wider policy shift under the Trump administration. VA health researchers are now facing tighter controls, including a requirement to get political approval before publishing in scientific journals. Veterans advocacy groups warn that the new rule may impact rural veterans and survivors of military sexual trauma the most. According to Tia Christopher, a Navy veteran, some patients could be forced to travel more than 100 miles just to find a doctor willing to treat them. Experts are also concerned by the lack of consultation, as VA doctors were not involved in the changes. The VA has not denied this. Medical organisations, including the American Medical Association, are also pushing back. At a meeting this week, the AMA passed a resolution urging hospitals to preserve doctors' autonomy and involve them in rule-making. The Department of Veterans Affairs runs the largest integrated hospital system in the United States, with over 170 hospitals and 1,000 clinics. It employs around 26,000 doctors and provides care to nearly 9 million patients each year.
