South Carolina drops pair to Florida; 22-3 in game one, 8-0 in game 2
COLUMBIA (USC SID) – The University of South Carolina baseball team dropped a pair of games to Florida Sunday (May 4) at Ray Tanner Field at Founders Park. The Gamecocks lost the completion of Saturday's suspended game, 22-3, and fell in the regularly-scheduled game, 8-0.
Carolina fell behind, 5-0, after four-and-a-half frames in game one. The Gamecocks got a run back in the bottom of the fifth, scoring on a Florida fielding error. Then in the sixth, KJ Scobey homered to left for his fifth home run of the season. Jordan Carrion had an RBI single in the seventh to make it 6-3 Gators. Florida scored five in the eighth and 11 in the ninth for the win.
In game two, Carolina had four hits in the game. The Gators hit three home runs in the contest, scoring a run in the second, two in the fourth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Jake McCoy took the loss in game one, striking out two and allowing two hits and a run in three innings. Blake Jackson reached base five times in the contests, while Nathan Hall and Jase Woita had two hits apiece.
Ashton Crowther took the loss in game two, striking out four and allowing five hits and one earned run in four innings. Cayden Gaskin had two hits to lead the Gamecock offense.

Carolina left 13 men on base in the first game of the day.
Hall is now hitting .345 on the year with a team-best 12 doubles.
The Gamecocks used seven pitchers in game one of the day.
