Uttarakhand CM Dhami participate in 300th birth anniversary program of Ahilyabai Holkar
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the Gram Sabha of Salempur will be named after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, on the proposal and with no objection.
CM Dhami, while paying homage to Lokmata Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar, said that the Pal-Dhangar society has been the main basis of India's livestock-based economy since ancient times.
'Not only did she contribute significantly economically to the progress and development of the country, but she has also played an important role in preserving and advancing our rich cultural heritage. Even today, this society is making an important contribution in the creation of a self-reliant India on the strength of its hard work, dedication and self-respect,' he said.
The Chief Minister said that Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar is such a pious soul of Indian history who presented the best example of women's power. Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar's entire life was dedicated to the re-establishment of Sanatan life values and Indian culture.
'She rebuilt temples and ghats in Kashi Vishwanath, Somnath, Dwarka, Rameshwaram, Ayodhya and Mathura as well as Badrinath, Kedarnath and Haridwar of our Devbhoomi. Rani Ahilyabai Holkar also presented such a unique example of women empowerment in that period, which was difficult to even imagine at that time,' CM Dhami said.
Chief Minister said, 'For hundreds of years, foreign invaders and then even after independence, governments suffering from the mentality of slavery did not give the contribution of our great personalities the respect they really deserved. A well-planned conspiracy was hatched to deprive our young generation of their glorious history.'
The Chief Minister said that today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has entered the Amritkaal of the renaissance of its cultural consciousness.
'Our glorious history, the contribution of great national heroes and cultural heritage, which were neglected for years, are not only being restored today, but are also being made the basis of national consciousness. Today, the flag of our Sanatan culture is flying proudly all over the world and India is rapidly moving towards becoming a world leader again by connecting with its roots. Today, whether it is the construction of a grand Ram temple, reconstruction of Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines, expansion of Baba Vishwanath's corridor or the construction of Mahakal Lok,' he said.
The Chief Minister said that unprecedented work is also being done in the direction of women's empowerment under the Prime Minister's leadership.
'Whether it is approving 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies, giving priority to the education and safety of daughters through the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, freeing women from the smoke of the stove through the Ujjwala Yojana, making women self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Yojana or ending the evil practice of triple talaq. Through many such decisions, PM Modi has worked to ensure the respect of the mother power,' CM Dhami said.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is also fully committed to preserving the cultural values and demography of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
'We have taken strict action against hateful mindsets like land jihad, love jihad and spit jihad in the state. Strict anti-riot and anti-conversion laws have also been implemented in the state. We are working with determination with the policy of 'zero tolerance' to end corruption in the state,' he said.
Chief Minister Dhami said that earlier, there was a perception that action was taken only against small employees found involved in corruption, but today, in the state, not only small fish but also corrupt crocodiles are being caught.
'Recently, two IAS and one PCS officers have been suspended in the Haridwar land scam,' he added. (ANI)

CM Yogi Adityanath slams SP: ‘Turned education sector into cheating hub'
CHIEF MINISTER Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday hit out at the Samajwadi Party (SP), saying that they are 'now criticising genuine reform although during their rule, the education sector had been turned into a hub of malpractice, chaos and caste politics.' Adityanath was addressing a gathering after inaugurating an Atal Residential School in Moradabad. His remarks came amid ongoing protests by the SP against the state government's pairing policy of schools by organising 'PDA pathshalas' in several districts. Calling the SP 'Kaurav Dal,' the CM went on to say that SP intends to teach children 'Ga se gadha' instead of 'ga se Ganpati.' He said that those who earlier 'came to power through appeasement politics now find themselves politically irrelevant — neither connected to society nor concerned about future generations.' The CM said, 'Power was once treated as a platform for appeasement, turning education into a hub of cheating, chaos, and caste politics.' He added, 'Today, those same people are suddenly concerned about public satisfaction.' Adityanath also questioned SP leaders' claims about 'PDA', citing that party's 'poor track record' in the education sector. He claimed that during the late Kalyan Singh's government, when students were taught 'ga se Ganesha', SP leaders objected to this and demanded that it be changed to 'ga se gadha'. 'This reflects their mindset,' said the CM, pointing out that while the BJP seeks to instill Indian culture and values in children, 'SP leaders had no qualms about insulting deities such as Lord Ganesha.' Adityanath said, 'When they were in power, timely recruitment of teachers was not done nor were any serious efforts to improve educational standards. The entire administrative and academic ecosystem was crippled by nepotism and caste-based politics in the past.' He also said that earlier, criminal elements operated with impunity in almost every district, dragging the state into an era of anarchy and communal unrest. 'For them, mass cheating was a right, not a crime. They gambled with the future of our youths through systematic exam fraud,' he added. Dedicating the new school to the children of labourers' families in the Moradabad division, Adityanath described it as a 'temple of education' established in the memory of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during his birth centenary year. Till date, 18 Atal Residential Schools have been established across Uttar Pradesh, providing free, high-quality education to over 18,000 children of labourers and orphans. Lucknow: Calling the Kanwar Yatra a 'symbol of unity', Adityanath on Wednesday hit out at opposition parties for doing 'politics of appeasement', pointing out that certain anti-social elements had conspired to tarnish the image of the Kanwar Yatra but 'such attempts failed due to proactive administrative efforts as well as the alertness and awareness of the society.' He was addressing a gathering during his visit to Bareilly, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 545 development projects worth Rs 2,264 crore. Govt tries to placate Jain orgs, community outreach in focus
Mumbai: The decision by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to close down the Kabutarkhana in Dadar as part of a civic push to address urban hygiene and public health and the responses from Jain groups has put the focus on the community and its traditions. Feeding of pigeons holds cultural and religious significance for Jains who contribute actively to jeev daya (compassion for living beings) initiatives. While the civic body has cited environmental and health concerns as justification for enforcing a ban, community members have sought a consultative approach by the govt. Senior Jain monk Yugbhushansuriji questioned the evidence for banning pigeon-feeding. "Compassion towards animals and birds is a constitutional duty of Indian citizens. A blanket ban on feeding pigeons appears premature," he said. Explaining the community's commitment to ahimsa and animal welfare, he said, "We have been feeding not just pigeons. We also run cow shelters and we have been doing it for centuries." A majority in the community are perceived as pro-BJP which explains the govt intervening in the issue to find an "amicable solution" on a priority basis, said party sources. "In Borivali and Malabar Hill the community plays a crucial role in the elections. Both assembly constituencies are BJP strongholds," said a source. "The Jain Aghadi, a sub-cell of the BJP, is very active in social work as well as party activities. Apart from this, the community also offers strong financial support to the BJP," said sources. The community's ability to mobilise support was also evident when the BMC demolished a Jain temple in Vile Parle saying it was illegal. Large processions were organised in the western suburbs to protest the move. Similarly, the shifting of an ailing elephant from a Jain math in Kolhapur to an animal shelter in Gujarat sparked off an agitation prompting the chief minister to assure protestors that the govt would bring up the case before Supreme Court.
