While players did show up to minicamp, not everyone was actually working. Despite still being a long way away from the start of the regular season, the Bills did still take the safe route with some and allowed them to sit out of practice because of injury or other reasons.
Here is the full list of players that reportedly sat our of minicamp workouts.

Potential Landing Spots for Former Broncos' Standout Safety Justin Simmons

Potential Landing Spots for Former Broncos' Standout Safety Justin Simmons originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former Denver Broncos standout safety Justin Simmons remains one of the surprising free agents unsigned. However, it's not the first time Simmons has waited deep into the offseason to sign a deal. Advertisement After spending the first eight years of his career in Denver, Simmons signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024. But the safety didn't sign until mid-August. Simmons, though currently unsigned, should have plenty of interest around the league. The veteran safety established a great career in Denver, averaging 75.5 tackles, 3.75 interceptions, and eight passes defended over his eight seasons. Simmons earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2023. In 2024 with the Falcons, Simmons collected 62 tackles, seven passes defended, and a pair of interceptions. Simmons' head coach in Denver from 2019 to 2021 was Vic Fangio. Here are some potential landing spots with a connection to Fangio that could fit well for the standout safety in 2025. Advertisement The Carolina Panthers' defensive coordinator is Ejiro Evero, who spent time with Fangio in San Francisco from 2011 to 2014, and took over as the Broncos' defensive coordinator in 2022 after Fangio's departure. Evero uses similar defensive schemes as Simmons' former head coach, and the safety could slide in next to Tre'von Moehrig, whom the Panthers signed in free agency. The San Francisco 49ers present another interesting landing spot, with Robert Saleh back as the defensive coordinator. Saleh was the Texans' defensive intern in 2005 while Fangio was the defensive coordinator. Saleh got his first coordinating opportunity in San Francisco in 2017 and turned the 49ers' defense into one of the best in the league. After a rough go as head coach with the New York Jets, Saleh is back to where he found his most success. Atlanta Falcons safety Justin Simmons (31) on the field during the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. After letting Talanoa Hufanga go in the offseason, the addition of Simmons seems like a slam dunk for the 49ers' secondary. Advertisement However, the Philadelphia Eagles may be the most obvious landing spot for Simmons - a direct reunion with his former head coach. With Vangio in his second year as the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia and the departure of C.J. Gardner-Johnson this offseason, Simmons could be the perfect piece to slide in. The Eagles are reigning Super Bowl champions, and their defense was a large reason why. Simmons would bolster that defense and already knows the coach's system. Lastly, the Las Vegas Raiders could be an option. Las Vegas hired Joe Woods this offseason to be their pass game coordinator and defensive backs' coach. Woods coached Simmons in Denver for the first three years of his career. Simmons is familiar with Woods, and the addition would add a proven veteran to Las Vegas' secondary. Advertisement Based on when he signed in 2024, Simmons still has plenty of time, but with training camp beginning in July, we could he a move made soon. Broncos' RJ Harvey Excited for Journey in Denver Alongside J.K. Dobbins

Broncos' RJ Harvey Excited for Journey in Denver Alongside J.K. Dobbins originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Denver Broncos' running game struggled in 2024, but they've made some big moves in 2025 to try to fix that issue. Denver drafted RJ Harvey in the second round of the NFL Draft, and then recently signed veteran J.K. Dobbins this offseason. Advertisement Now, a running back room that once looked shaky has a duo that feels primed for a strong year in 2025. "I'm excited to be in the room with him," Harvey said of Dobbins. "People sleeping on us right now, but we're going to wake everybody up this year." Harvey is confident in the two backs' ability to carry the Broncos' rushing attack and to do so in a very productive way. The rookie running back noted Dobbins' experience in the league as an invaluable asset for him. Dobbins was drafted in the second round by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product ran for more than 800 yards and nine touchdowns in his rookie campaign before dealing with injuries in 2021 and 2022. Advertisement Dobbins signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 and ran for over 900 yards and nine touchdowns in just 13 games. The Buckeye's production when he's healthy is phenomenal, and the duo with Harvey in Denver could help Dobbins stay fresh in 2025. Although he's only a rookie, Harvey has high expectations for his first season in the NFL, but knows it will come through hard work and punctuality. Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey (37) during rookie minicamp at Broncos Park Powered by Chenoy-Imagn Images "I'm always on time, but make sure you're on time and we've got to work every day because they're always trying to replace you," Harvey said. "As a player, I'm a winner. I want to win every single game." Harvey loves to win on and off the field, and one hobby he uses that competitive energy for off the field is bowling. The UCF product's best score is a 210, and his playing style is eerily similar to his hobby off the field. Once he gets rolling, he's hard to stop. Advertisement Harvey played four years at UCF and lit up the stat sheet in his final two seasons. The Knight ran for nearly 3,000 yards and 38 touchdowns in the last two years, and added over 500 yards and four touchdowns in the receiving game. The Broncos' rookie running back led the Big 12 in yards per attempt and rushing touchdowns in 2024. There was excitement around Harvey and his potential in Denver when he was drafted, but with the addition of Dobbins, this duo could be in for an electric 2025 season. Tight end Travis Kelce, franchised guard Trey Smith attend Chiefs minicamp

Associated Press KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Four-time All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and Pro Bowl right guard Trey Smith, who skipped voluntary workouts after receiving the franchise tag, were present for the start of the Kansas City Chiefs' mandatory three-day minicamp Tuesday. Kelce also was absent for the voluntary workouts that had been open to reporters in recent weeks. Smith is hoping to land a long-term contract with the Chiefs, who chose him in the sixth round of the 2021 draft, when his stock had plummeted amid health concerns. He has far outplayed that draft positioning, though, and that is why the Chiefs gave him the franchise tag — essentially a $23.4 million guaranteed salary for the upcoming season. Smith and the Chiefs have until mid-July to work out a new contract, otherwise he will play the season on the one-year deal. Smith was not made available to reporters Tuesday, but the fact that he reported to the mandatory minicamp — rather than risk a potential fine — was noteworthy. Two years ago, defensive tackle Chris Jones held out all summer and into the start of the regular season before eventually agreeing to a contract with Kansas City. 'It's good (Smith) didn't take my approach,' Jones quipped. 'He shouldn't take advice from me.' While the Chiefs worked through several lineups during the roughly 90-minute session, Smith's decision to report did give them an opportunity to see what their revamped offensive line could look like this upcoming season. After they struggled to protect Patrick Mahomes for most of last season, and especially during a lopsided Super Bowl loss to the Eagles, the Chiefs began the makeover by trading two-time All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney to the Bears for a draft pick in March. The Chiefs proceeded to draft Josh Simmons, an offensive tackle from Ohio State, with the final pick in the first round. Simmons was widely considered the top tackle available, but he was coming off a knee injury that caused him to slip to the 32nd overall pick. The Chiefs were confident in their medical workup on him, though, and that gamble appears to be paying off: He was on the field and moving around well during the start of the minicamp. 'Just trying to be available as I can right now,' he said. It's unclear whether Simmons will be a full participant when training camp begins in late July, but things appear to be trending in that direction. And that raises hopes around Kansas City that Mahomes will finally have a capable blind-side protector. 'I wanted to be able to throw the pads on ASAP,' Simmons said. 'Whatever the staff allows me to do, I'm definitely going to do.' Meanwhile, the Chiefs are hopeful that second-year pro Kingsley Suamataia can continue his transition from tackle to guard, and take Thuney's place alongside Simmons on the left side of the line. And when they are joined by All-Pro center Creed Humphrey, Smith at right guard and veteran Jawaan Taylor at right tackle, the Chiefs could have their best offensive line in years. ___ AP NFL: recommended
