The Denver Broncos' running game struggled in 2024, but they've made some big moves in 2025 to try to fix that issue. Denver drafted RJ Harvey in the second round of the NFL Draft, and then recently signed veteran J.K. Dobbins this offseason.

Now, a running back room that once looked shaky has a duo that feels primed for a strong year in 2025.
"I'm excited to be in the room with him," Harvey said of Dobbins. "People sleeping on us right now, but we're going to wake everybody up this year."
Harvey is confident in the two backs' ability to carry the Broncos' rushing attack and to do so in a very productive way. The rookie running back noted Dobbins' experience in the league as an invaluable asset for him.
Dobbins was drafted in the second round by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product ran for more than 800 yards and nine touchdowns in his rookie campaign before dealing with injuries in 2021 and 2022.

Dobbins signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 and ran for over 900 yards and nine touchdowns in just 13 games. The Buckeye's production when he's healthy is phenomenal, and the duo with Harvey in Denver could help Dobbins stay fresh in 2025.
Although he's only a rookie, Harvey has high expectations for his first season in the NFL, but knows it will come through hard work and punctuality.

"I'm always on time, but make sure you're on time and we've got to work every day because they're always trying to replace you," Harvey said. "As a player, I'm a winner. I want to win every single game."
Harvey loves to win on and off the field, and one hobby he uses that competitive energy for off the field is bowling. The UCF product's best score is a 210, and his playing style is eerily similar to his hobby off the field. Once he gets rolling, he's hard to stop.

Harvey played four years at UCF and lit up the stat sheet in his final two seasons. The Knight ran for nearly 3,000 yards and 38 touchdowns in the last two years, and added over 500 yards and four touchdowns in the receiving game.
The Broncos' rookie running back led the Big 12 in yards per attempt and rushing touchdowns in 2024.
There was excitement around Harvey and his potential in Denver when he was drafted, but with the addition of Dobbins, this duo could be in for an electric 2025 season.

Like Heyward, Watt is coming to the table after an underwhelming year with some level of concerns attached to his age. Heyward, well into his 30s with two sacks in 2023, managed to come to an agreement. Watt still posted 11.5 sacks in 2024 and is only entering his age-31 season. Watt would like to be the highest-paid defensive player in football. Pittsburgh, presumably on the hook for ~$20 million more than it anticipated entering the offseason, is understandably taking its time. "This year, he's not there," Roethlisberger said. "You asked the question of what's the difference? I don't know, only T.J. knows the difference. My only speculation and guess is like, they must not be close. If you were close, I would think that T.J. would do what he did last time." Advertisement For now, the two seem far apart. But the Steelers are incentivized to keep Watt around, and his run defense should keep him among the best edge rushers in the sport, even if his pass-rushing decline proves to be more than a blip on the radar.
