Struck down with the flu and still recovering, Sir Rod has expressed his sadness for not being able to perform in an announcement.
He took to Instagram to share the news with fans, who were sad to hear he was not feeling up to performing after doctors advised him against it.
"I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace," he explained.
"My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu.
"Thanks for your love and understanding. Rob."
Reacting to Rod's announcement and health update, fans were largely supportive of the rocker.
One person penned: "Take all the time your doctor advises you to do to recuperate, your health comes first."
Another said: "Get well Sir Rod! That's most important.."
"Take care of yourself and rest easy. The fans and music will still be there when you're well," wrote a third.
Though supportive and concerned, some fans were also disappointed because of the cancelled gig.

"Oh no!!!!!! This is the 2nd time I've purchased tickets to see you in Vegas and both shows cancelled cause of not feeling well. I guess not meant to be……" said one.
A second wrote: "Sorry you were sick. But this was hard. We can't come back. Have to be in LA. Our 51st anniversary. And our friends 1st anniversary. Soooo sad!!"
And a third penned: "Sorry your ill Rod, but mightily disappointed as travelled from the UK to see you."
This comes just mere days after Rod was forced to cancel more of his Las Vegas shows.
Taking to social media at the start of the week, the Maggie May singer wrote: "I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10.
"Your tickets will be valid for the new date. Sir Rod."
Sir Rod has performance and gig dates lined up all over the world this year.
Later this month he is due to take on the Legends slot at Glastonbury.
He recently revealed he fears he will die if he gives up touring.
He said: "I enjoy going out on tour now more than I've ever done at this ripe old age of 80.
"I'm doing seven concerts in Vegas and then I am everywhere around the world.
"I'm playing Athens, Germany, three nights in Buenos Aires, two nights in Rio, it goes on and on and on.
"It keeps me fit. You have got to be fit to do it.
"I would probably die if I didn't do it. I have seen so many guys that have to give up their career and retire and they have got nothing to wake up in the morning for.
"I don't know what they do with themselves.
"They must get up and go 'What do I do today? Down the betting shop? Have a drink?' I don't know."
