QIIB announces winners of its Visa credit card campaign

QIIB has announced the names of the winners of its special promotional campaign launched in celebration of the 2025 Amir Cup football tournament. The campaign targeted holders of QIIB-issued Visa credit cards. Each winner received a cash prize of QAR 100,000, with total prizes amounting to QAR 500,000.
The prize draw was held at QIIB's headquarters under the supervision of a representative from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and in the presence of relevant QIIB officials.
The winners received their prizes during a ceremony held at the Bank's headquarters, attended by the winners and several senior QIIB executives.
The five winners, as determined by the draw, are: Hamad Ali, Fahad Ali AlHanzab, Faisal Ebrahim Al Mohsin, Mohamed Khalil Al-Darwish, and Fahad Hassan Al-Hajri.
The campaign was launched on May 6 and ran through May 24, 2025, covering all QIIB Visa credit cardholders. Customers were automatically entered into the draw upon meeting the specified spending criteria during the campaign period.
Under the campaign terms, any customer who spent a total of at least QAR 10,000 using any QIIB Visa credit card was automatically entered into the draw. Customers earned one entry for every QAR 100 spent locally, and two entries for every QAR 100 spent internationally or through e-commerce.
On the occasion of presenting the Amir Cup campaign prizes to the winners, Talal Al-Jaidah, Head of Banking Products at QIIB, stated: 'We extend our warmest congratulations to the winners.
We are truly delighted to present these valuable cash prizes as part of this campaign, launched in celebration of the Amir Cup one of Qatar's most prominent sporting events. The campaign received an enthusiastic response from our customers, reflecting their strong trust in our services, campaigns, and exclusive offers'.
He added: 'This campaign reflects our strategy to align banking services with major national sporting events. It strengthens customer loyalty and provides real added value whenever they use their QIIB banking cards'.
Al-Jaidah further noted: 'At QIIB, we are committed to continuously enhancing our products, services, and promotional offers to meet our customers' expectations—both in terms of valuable benefits and a rich, rewarding user experience'.
He continued: 'Major sporting events like the Amir Cup are a great opportunity to connect with the community and promote a sense of shared spirit. Revealing an exceptional performance across all key financial metrics, Estithmar Holding Q.P.S.C. announced its financial results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2025, following board approval. The company reported revenue of QAR 3.073 billion, an 87% year-on-year increase. Gross profit soared by 134% to QAR 1.054 billion, while EBITDA rose 97% to QAR 732 million compared to H1 2024. Net profit reached QAR 465 million, up 97% year-on-year, while earnings per share (EPS) doubled, reaching QAR 0.130. While Estithmar Holding continues its upward trajectory in its financial and operational indicators across all its financial disclosures, this remarkable leap in results for H1 2025 is mainly attributed to increased revenue through its international expansions across its 4 sectors in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria, Libya, Maldives, Jordan, and Kazakhstan. The company's enhanced operational performance also underpinned an EBITDA of QR 732 million, an increase of 97%, driven by disciplined financial and operational policies, which improved the profit margin. Tribune News Network Doha QIIB has been awarded the 2025 'Leadership Award for Sustainable Islamic Finance' in Qatar by the Union of Arab Banks, in recognition of the bank's pioneering role and ongoing contributions in this field. QIIB Chief of Corporate Sector Omar Abdulaziz Al Meer received the award on the bank's behalf during the Banks Awards and Commendations of Excellence ceremony, recently organised by the Union of Arab Banks in the Lebanese Capital, Beirut. The event was attended by senior officials and prominent representatives from the Arab and international banking and business sectors. The Union of Arab Banks selected QIIB for the award in recognition of its strong sustainability record and its ongoing commitment to integrating leading environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices into its banking and investment operations. The bank was also commended for its pioneering initiatives in developing products that are in line with the principles of sustainable Islamic finance. On this occasion, QIIB CEO Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad Al Shaibei said, 'We are proud to receive this prestigious award, which affirms our leadership as an Islamic financial institution committed to the principles of sustainable finance. At QIIB, we follow a strategic approach that balances economic growth, environmental preservation, and social responsibility.' Al Shaibei further said, 'The bank's receipt of this award reflects the outcomes of carefully planned strategic initiatives introduced by QIIB in recent years, most notably the issuance of its first sustainable sukuk (Oryx) worth $500 million in January 2024. This marked the first issuance of its kind by a Qatari institution and attracted exceptional interest from more than 120 investors worldwide. The sukuk offering followed the launch of our inaugural Sustainable Finance Framework, which aligns with leading international standards and the principles set by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA)'. He said, 'QIIB signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) to advance green finance initiatives and promote sustainable building practices. The bank also introduced its Green Auto Finance product for electric and hybrid vehicles, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and innovation'. The QIIB CEO said, 'The bank will continue to prioritise sustainability and support various initiatives aimed at advancing Islamic banking.' He emphasised receiving the Leadership Award in Sustainable Islamic Finance places an even greater responsibility on us, one that motivates us to keep innovating and to invest in sustainable projects that deliver real, positive impact on the environment and society. The signing ceremony marks a significant milestone in Qatar's global efforts to promote sustainable development, humanitarian initiatives, and international partnerships. Her Excellency Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Fund for Development, said: 'What the State of Qatar is doing today through the Qatar Fund for Development is not just an international commitment, but rather a reflection of our deep humanitarian values. We believe that investing in people is the real investment, and these agreements represent a tangible step towards building more stable and just societies, and changing the lives of millions for the better. Qatar will remain an active partner in the global development process, placing people at the heart of its priorities.' The agreements, signed by the Qatar Fund for Development, aim to enhance cooperation in humanitarian and development efforts with several prominent local partners, including the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, the American University of Afghanistan in Qatar, Qatar Charity, the Education Above All Foundation, and the Qatar Red Crescent. Memoranda of Understanding were also signed with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sierra Leone, and a memorandum of understanding was announced with Rwanda. Among the agreements signed by the Fund are four with Qatar Charity, targeting approximately 1,307,292 beneficiaries. These agreements include a grant agreement for emergency aid following the flood crisis in Niger, a grant agreement to support healthcare services at Bab al-Hawa Hospital in Syria, a grant for Rohingya refugees in Malaysia, and an agreement for an emergency response project in northern Syria. The Fund signed two agreements with the Education Above All Foundation targeting more than 15 million children and youth beneficiaries. These agreements include a strategic framework agreement and a grant agreement to support the scholarship program for Afghan students. It also signed six agreements with the Qatar Red Crescent targeting more than 294,487 beneficiaries. The agreements include an emergency support grant for the new phase of the White Helmets in Syria, a project agreement to support the heart center at the Indira Gandhi Children's Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, a grant agreement to provide humanitarian aid in Syria, a grant agreement to support the expansion of the children's playground at the Qatari clinics in the Zaatari camp in Jordan, a grant agreement for the "Good Caravan" project for children and adults in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, and an emergency relief grant agreement following the fire disaster at the local central market in the Gabo region of Guinea-Bissau to support affected individuals and meet their basic humanitarian needs. The Qatar Fund for Development also signed an agreement to temporarily host the American University of Afghanistan in Qatar, in cooperation with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, targeting approximately 73 students. Regarding government memoranda of understanding, the Fund signed a memorandum of understanding with Bosnia and Herzegovina on the rehabilitation of the water network in three municipalities, targeting approximately 6,000 beneficiaries; a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Rwanda to support the national "No Child Out of School" program, targeting approximately 177,119 children; and a memorandum of understanding in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in Sierra Leone on the "We Grow" initiative, targeting 530,152 beneficiaries. These agreements and memoranda of understanding reflect the Qatar Fund for Development's ongoing commitment to achieving sustainable development goals and promoting Qatar National Vision 2030.
