No longer a funky novelty, these mobiles are easy to recommend to anyone looking for a versatile phone.

How we tested

I examined these phones by several key metrics:
Performance: I looked at storage and RAM to see how each phone can cope with heavy-duty processing when watching videos or gaming. I look out for stuttering, buffering, and assess how many photos a phone can hold.
Battery life: During the month of testing, I measured battery life across each day. I timed how many hours' use I got from a single charge, and how it varied from light browsing to streaming video on a commute.
Camera: Camera testing is done in daylight and nighttime conditions. I took dozens of pictures of pets, landmarks, family and friends to check each image's resolution and clarity.
AI: A relatively new criterion, most Samsung phones now come with AI features. I assessed these new features, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra's new AI-powered editing tools.
Portability: I also check how pocketable each phone is, and if it's comfortable to hold as you scroll. Many of Samsung's phones are foldable, so I check to see if this is a genuinely useful feature or a gimmick.

Tile pro 2022 key finder review: A Bluetooth tracker for iPhone and Android phone users alike
Californian tech company Tile was making device trackers a decade before Apple revealed the AirTag. Like Apple's finder, the Tile is a small device that connects to a keyring, bag or something else you don't want to lose. Then, by connecting to your phone via Bluetooth, the tracker will ring out loud, making it easy to locate. Tile has expanded its product range over the years, with numerous generations featuring improvements to battery life, water resistance, range and volume. The 2022 model is the previous generation of Tile pro, but you can still find it in stock at retailers like Amazon. It has a larger footprint than its simpler siblings, but it boasts a tough metal chassis, a year of battery life from its replaceable, coin-style battery, and a range of 120m. It's also louder than the smaller Tile options. If a misplaced Tile is within Bluetooth range, the app can be used to play a loud alarm from the Tile itself, helping you find it. If it's out of Bluetooth range, you can call upon help from the wider Tile Network, where you're alerted via the app and shown the approximate location of the lost Tile when a fellow Tile user's phone comes within Bluetooth range of it. Tile once had this market to itself, but now faces stiff competition from Apple and the AirTag, as well as the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag and fellow possession-tracker company Chipolo. Gen Z don't use this one phrase because they consider it 'too formal'
A new survey has found that Gen Z is ditching traditional polite phrases in favour of more direct alternatives Gen Z are ditching traditional polite expressions like 'excuse me?' and swapping them for blunter alternatives such as 'huh?' and 'what?' instead. Three quarters of younger Brits reckon 'pardon?' is far too formal – with one in 10 confessing they never utter this phrase whatsoever. Many instead favour more direct options like 'come again?', 'eh?', 'you what?' , and even 'I zoned out'. According to the survey, eight in ten confess they have had to pretend they were following along with a conversation when background makes it tricky to catch the words because they are too embarrassed to ask someone to repeat themselves. The research was commissioned by Samsung to mark the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7, which features an audio eraser that strips away background noise from videos. Annika Bizon, from Samsung said: "We've all been there – trying to have a chat in a noisy bar or restaurant and ending up none the wiser. "People are constantly battling background noise, and it's not just annoying – it can stop you from really connecting in the moment." The study found that across all age groups, three quarters of adults find it challenging to follow conversations in busy places like restaurants and bars, with most people saying this can make the experience frustrating. However, the issue isn't just about misinterpreting someone's words; two in three believe noisy environments can make it harder to emotionally connect during a conversation. This often results in three-quarters of individuals feeling frustrated or let down when they miss crucial parts of the dialogue. Moreover, 43 percent would think about recording significant social events on their mobile if they had the option to eliminate background noise later on. Annika Bizon from Samsung commented: "It's no surprise that more people are looking to their tech to help cut through the chaos. "That's exactly why we developed Audio Eraser – to help people capture clearer sound in the moments that matter."
