Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner remain on track for a semi-final showdown at Wimbledon, following their respective victories on Saturday.
Djokovic notched up his 100th win at the prestigious tournament, advancing to the fourth round with ease.
Meanwhile, Sinner continued to navigate a serene course through the choppy waters of Wimbledon with another straight-sets win.

Novak Djokovic digs deep to defeat Alex de Minaur at Wimbledon
Novak Djokovic recovered from his worst first set at Wimbledon to battle past Alex de Minau r and into a 16th quarter-final. The Serbian has not fallen before the final at the All England Club since 2017 but he will need to raise his level if he is to maintain that record after scrapping to a 1-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory over Australian De Minaur in three hours and 19 minutes. Djokovic cannot have played many worse sets at Wimbledon than the opening one here, with the Serbian making 16 unforced errors, including four double faults and dropping serve three times. It is the sixth time Djokovic has lost a set 6-1 at the All England Club but the first time he has done so in the first set. The 38-year-old, playing in front of his old rival Roger Federer in the front row of the Royal Box, can be a slow starter and he did not panic, immediately breaking the De Minaur serve at the start of the second set. At the end of the contest, Djokovic said with a smile: "Sometimes I wish I had the serve and volley and nice touch from the gentleman that is standing right there. That would help." The next game took nearly 19 minutes, with De Minaur finally getting the break back on his sixth chance, only for Djokovic to move ahead again immediately – winning a 34-shot rally, putting his finger to his ear and trying to whip up the crowd. De Minaur responded and made it 3-3 only to immediately drop serve once more, and the key moments of the match arguably came in the final game of the set, when the 11th seed twice had a chance to level once more. But De Minaur could not take either and Djokovic roared in celebration when he clinched the game. There were still challenging moments, but a break in the ninth game of the third set pushed Djokovic into the lead for the first time, and he recovered from 4-1 down to win the fourth. The sixth seed admitted he had been nervous coming into the match having never faced De Minaur on grass before. "It wasn't a great start for me," he said. "It was a great start for him, obviously. Very windy, very swirly conditions on the court. I didn't have many solutions but I kind of reset myself in the second. "Tough game to close out the second set, that was maybe a momentum shift. A lot of cat and mouse play. He's so good at it. It's tough when you're not feeling the ball that well. He exposes all your weaknesses. I'm very pleased to hang in tough at the right moments and win this match." Ireland striker Aaron Connolly ‘buzzing' as he seals move to League One side
Aaron Connolly says he is 'buzzing' to get started with Leyton Orient, after confirmation on Monday that the nine-time capped Ireland striker had signed a two-year contract with the League One side. Connolly was a free agent after coming to the end of a short-term deal at Millwall. A former Premier League striker with Brighton, the 25-year-old is looking to recapture the form that once marked him out as a top Irish prospect. Connolly said: 'I'm buzzing to be here. I met with the Gaffer last Monday, and straight away we both wanted to get it done. 'I'm delighted to be here, and the Gaffer was a main factor in me coming here. I know the club just missed out on promotion last year, but we're hoping to go one better this year. 'I had my first session today, and I'm delighted that the transfer is done now. It happened quite quickly, which is always good for a player.' Connolly burst onto the scene with Brighton, scoring twice against Tottenham in his first Premier League start. In total, he netted eight times in 52 appearances for the Seagulls, including five in the top-flight, but his struggles to nail down regular first-team football saw him loaned to Middlesbrough, Venezia and Hull City. A long-term move to Hull followed, but after he scored eight goals in 30 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign he left the club and spent last summer undergoing rehabilitation for alcohol addiction. He moved to Sunderland late last September and played 11 times, scoring once against Millwall, and last January he joined the Lions on a six-month contract. After scoring once in 14 appearances, he was released at the end of that deal. Connolly on Monday became Orient's fifth signing of the summer, joining another former Brighton player, and ex-Shamrock Rovers prospect Killian Cahill. The Leyton Orient squad also includes former Ireland Under-21 winger Ollie O'Neill. Head coach Richie Wellens said: 'I tried to sign Aaron when I was at Swindon a few years ago, but he then scored a hat-trick against MK Dons in the EFL Trophy. Everyone was in for him after that. 'He's talented, quick, good on the ball and skilful. He's got an eye for goal, and he scored twice on his Premier League debut for Brighton. 'The ability is all there, and when I met him recently I got a really good vibe off him. I sense that there is a burning desire for him to do well. 'If we can get Aaron firing, I have absolutely no doubt in his abilities.'

Brumbies clash puts Lions Test contenders under selection microscope
Time and matches are running out for the 38 players in Andy Farrell's British & Irish Lions squad to prove to their boss they have what it takes to make the team to face Australia in 11 days. The 15 selected on Monday on arrival in the nation's capital to face the Brumbies on Wednesday night must be considered the favourites to start that first of three Tests against the Wallabies given this match's proximity to the series opener and the stern test the hosts possess as the leading Super Rugby franchise on these shores. This Saturday's meeting with the Australian/New Zealand invitation XV in Adelaide will provide a final opportunity to break through into the Test matchday 23 seven days later but the onus is on Wednesday night's squad to remove any doubt from Farrell's mind that they belong in the Test team. That means turning 50-50 decisions into more favourable odds and the Lions head coach knows exactly what he is looking for. 'You want to see them stay in every single moment of the game,' Farrell explained, 'and I know that sounds harsh and almost impossible to do but they understand 100% now, and have done for a week or so, what is expected of them to be the best team-mate that they can possibly be. 'So, that's what we're judging them on, the expectation of that and what it takes to be the best version of themselves but also what it takes to be part of this team and they understand that because ultimately that's what is going to make us successful or not.' There is a sense that some players named on Monday to face the Brumbies have already had their names inked in for the Brisbane opener, not least captain Maro Itoje who partners Joe McCarthy, one of eight Irishmen in this putative Test team, in the second row. The front row of Ellis Genge and Irish duo Dan Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong have emerged as the most settled and yet dynamic and aggressive trio while the half-back pairing of Jamison Gibson-Park and Finn Russell has seemed nailed on to start against Joe Schmidt's side at Suncorp Stadium since they started together for the first time just a fortnight ago in the same venue against the Queensland Reds. There appears to be still some convincing to do for this Lions back row of Ollie Chessum, Tom Curry, and Jack Conan as Farrell continues his quest for the right balance for attacking the breakdown while also ensuring the lineout clicks with an extra jumper at the set-piece while in midfield the Lions will air their fifth different partnership in as many matches when the all-Irish pairing of Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose gets the chance to outdo the displays and clear synchronicity put on by Scotland duo Sione Tuipulotu and Huw Jones last time out against the Waratahs. Farrell wants a headache by the time he gets to Brisbane, that much is clear, but even better would be for his starting XV to emerge with shining clarity over these next two games. 'Guys will know all along… selection, there's a feel. It's not just 100 per cent, 'he's the best player and he has to'… it's combinations and it's how he makes the team tick and the team feel etc, there's a lot of different stuff that has to come together in regards to what makes a team play well. 'At the same time if you're talking about the individuals then if there's a 50-50 that has to be made, we'll make it. It might come down to something that they don't agree with but I always think that selection, if you make it a 60-40 or a 70-30 in your favour then that says it all really.'
