Dry weekend ahead for Central Florida as temperatures rise

Central Florida will experience a drier pattern this weekend due to slightly lower moisture levels in the atmosphere, resulting in fewer afternoon downpours. As a result, the chances of rain will be around 10-20% on Saturday and 20-30% on Sunday. With the drier conditions, temperatures are expected to rise into the lower to mid-90s, leading to a heat index that will exceed 100 degrees. Early next week, moisture levels will increase again, and we can expect our typical daytime storms to return, marking the arrival of the wet season. Here's your 9-Hour Forecast for Saturday: TONIGHT: The skies will be clear, and the winds will slowly die down to a light breeze through the evening. The W-SW winds will range from 10-25 mph before they die down. The low will be 74. FORECAST: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to potentially dangerous high temperatures over the weekend. High pressure reaches its maximum on Sunday, but we should prepare for exceptional heat both days. Saturday will be sunny and extremely hot with a high of 105. The W-SW winds will range from 10-25 mph. Sunday will be the hottest day with a high of 107. The W-SW winds will range from 10-30 mph (no dust). Monday will be partly cloudy with a high of 102.
