Prince Harry Revealed What ‘Breaks' His Heart as a Father After Reports William Plans to Strip Archie & Lilibet of Their Royal Titles

Yahoo23-07-2025
Prince Harry has been trying to keep Princess Diana's memory alive and continue with her legacy. That's partly why he set out on a tour of Angola to recreate the walk that Princess Diana took across an Angola minefield in 1997. This is a continuing trend, as Prince Harry also did this in 2019 and 2024.
'As a father to young children, it breaks my heart to see innocent children still living and playing next to minefields,' the Duke of Sussex said in a statement. 'All of us have a duty to protect children and future generations from the harms of war, both present and past.'

'This commitment is about more than removing deadly devices. It's about unlocking potential in a country that has so much — enabling children to walk to school safely, allowing farmers to grow crops, attracting sustainable development and bringing back wildlife tourism,' he added.
Harry has previously called continuing his mother's work in the region a 'responsibility' he takes seriously. The Halo Trust, the organization Prince Harry is working with, has cleared 120,000 landmines in Angola that were left over from years of civil war.
Prince Harry previously told The Telegraph that Prince Archie requested to see footage of Princess Diana's original walk that Harry recreated. 'Archie was asking about landmines, so I was talking about how some of these guys were blown up,' Harry told the outlet. 'Interestingly, it gave me a chance to talk about my mum, his grandma, which I didn't even really consider, so that became the outcome of the story for him,' he added.
According to Harry, Archie 'wanted to see videos and photographs of his Grandma Diana out doing her thing for landmines all those years ago. It produced a very interesting conversation between me and him, different to what I thought it would be.'
The humanitarian push comes as new reports indicate Prince Harry might be closer to reconciliation with his estranged father, King Charles, than ever. Aides for the two met recently, and Harry has been open about his desire to patch things up with both his father and his brother.
However, this new development doesn't seem to include Prince William. And recent reports indicate the future King is ready to take big steps when he becomes King, with a friend telling The Daily Beast about Harry and Meghan Markle's titles, 'They have asked the Sussexes politely to stop using the style, to no avail, so I imagine William will simply issue new letters patent to formally remove the entire family's right to use HRH when he becomes king.'
A former courtier even told the outlet, 'Charles may not want this fight, but William despises Harry and Meghan at this stage, and when he is king, his fury will rain down on them.'
Whether that changes after recent reports that the two sides are trying to patch things up is anybody's guess, but for now, it seems like things cannot be fixed between the brothers, even if Prince Harry and King Charles do end up reconciling.

The History of Princess Diana's Wedding Dress: All About the Designers, the Lost Backup Gown and That Record-breaking Train

When Princess Diana walked down the aisle with King Charles III (then known as the Prince of Wales) in 1981, her extravagant wedding gown solidified her status as a fashion icon — and set trends for years to come: Mariah Carey, who married music executive Tommy Mottola in 1993, tapped Vera Wang to create a wedding dress inspired by Diana's. Ahead, learn about the history behind the iconic gown, including its designers, its cost and where it is today. David and Elizabeth Emanuel, also known as the Emanuels, designed Princess Diana's wedding dress. She first became fond of the duo after wearing one of their chiffon blouses, which was custom-made for her engagement portrait session. The ruffled pink top recently fetched $381,000 at auction. 'When she saw our blouse on the rack she fell in love with it, asked who had made it and was directed to us,' Elizabeth Emanuel said in her 2006 book, 'A Dress for Diana.' Diana herself selected the Emanuels to design her wedding gown, which, per Elizabeth, 'had to be something that was going to go down in history, but also something that Diana loved' and which would be 'suitably dramatic in order to make an impression.' What is Princess Diana's wedding dress made of? The gown was crafted from ivory silk taffeta and antique Carrickmacross lace, which had previously belonged to Diana's great-grandmother-in-law, Queen Mary. Embroidery, sequins and over 10,000 pearls adorned its waistline, hem and train, which broke royal wedding records with a length of 25 feet. A small blue bow was sewn into the waistband of the gown for Diana's 'something blue,' and an 18-karat gold horseshoe charm was also stitched in for good luck. A Look Back at Princess Diana's Wedding Dress [PHOTOS] View Gallery For 'peace of mind,' the Emanuels designed a second gown for Diana's wedding day. 'At the time we wanted to make absolutely sure that the dress was a surprise,' Elizabeth Emanuel told People in 2011. 'Had the secret of the real dress got out it's possible that Diana would actually have worn this one.' Sketches of the backup gown were first revealed in 2023. Also made from ivory silk taffeta — but without the antique lace — it was embroidered with scalloped details along the hemline and sleeves. Tiny pearls were also sewn onto the bodice. The alternate dress, however, has since vanished. 'It was really just a backup to the original and I don't know where it went. It just disappeared,' Elizabeth Emanuel told Hello! in 2023. How much did Princess Diana's wedding dress cost? At the time of its creation, Diana's gown was worth approximately $114,800. Today, that's equivalent to around $448,500. Where is Princess Diana's wedding dress today? In her will, Diana bequeathed her bespoke gown to her sons, Princes William and Harry. They officially inherited it in 2014, upon the latter's 30th birthday. They've since loaned out the wedding dress for exhibition: in 2021, it was put on display as part of Kensington Palace's show titled 'Royal Style in the Making,' which concluded in 2022. The Legacy of the Wedding Dress To this day, the late Princess of Wales's wedding gown remains a fashion fixture, so much so that the dress became the subject of a documentary in 2025. In June, Britain's Channel 5, a division of Paramount Global, debuted the TV documentary 'Secrets of Diana's Wedding Dress.' The one-hour documentary chronicles the meteoric rise of designers David and Elizabeth Emmanuel from Royal College of Art graduates to the creators of Diana's wedding gown. Along with a spotlight on the Emmanuels, the documentary also highlighted Greek-born Nina Missetzis, who hand-sewed the dress and worked in tandem with the Emmanuels' team of seamstresses. 'Secrets of Diana's Wedding Dress' revealed details about the fittings prior to Charles and Diana's wedding on July 29, 1981, the wedding photos, the late British royal family member's anxieties regarding then-Prince Charles' relationship with Camilla Parker-Bowles (now King Charles III's wife of roughly 20 years and the queen consort) and so much more. 'The dress has dominated my life,' Elizabeth Emmanuel said. 'I had wanted to do a documentary like this for many years. There are loads and loads of documentaries about Diana, quite rightly, but this is a story within a story that's never been told, and it's a story of teamwork,' she said. What Will Queen Elizabeth's Grandson Peter Phillips' Second Royal Wedding Look Like?

The son of Princess Anne just announced his engagement to Harriet Sperling, and he's the first member of the royal family in his generation to divorce and remarryNEED TO KNOW Peter Phillips announced his engagement to Harriet Sperling, making him the first of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren to divorce and remarry If he follows the precedent set by the second weddings of King Charles and Princess Anne, his nuptials to Harriet will be a lower-key event compared to his 2008 wedding to Autumn Kelly No date has been set for the wedding, according to the engagement announcementPeter Phillips just announced his engagement to nurse Harriet Sperling, making him the first member of the British royal family in his generation to divorce their spouse and remarry. The late Queen Elizabeth had eight grandchildren, with Peter, 47, being the eldest. His divorce from his ex-wife Autumn (née Kelly), which was finalized in June 2021, made him the first of his cousins to separate from their spouse. However, three of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's four children divorced their spouses, with two going on to remarry — providing a hint at what the nuptials for Peter and Harriet might look like. When Peter and Autumn wed in May 2008, it was a full-blown royal affair held at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank went on to tie the knot a decade later. The event was attended by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry and many members of the royal family. While Kate Middleton was on the guest list, her then-boyfriend Prince William missed the nuptials, as he was out of the country for a longstanding engagement. At the time, a source told The Telegraph it was "an unfortunate clash, but he spoke to his cousin Peter and he is fine with the situation." Autumn sported the ultimate royal accessory, borrowing a tiara from her mother-in-law Princess Anne's collection. The Princess Royal's Festoon Tiara topped her bridal gown by British designer Sassi Holford. Following the ceremony at St. George's Chapel, the newlyweds embarked on a horse-drawn carriage ride. It's likely that Peter's second wedding will be a smaller-scale affair, if the second weddings of Princess Anne and King Charles provide precedent. Princess Anne wed Peter's father, Captain Mark Phillips, in 1973 at a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London, followed by an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony. However, after the pair divorced in 1992, Princess Anne married Sir Timothy Laurence later that year. Since the Church of England did not permit remarrying, they tied the knot in a low-key elopement in Scotland at Crathie Kirk church, the royal family's go-to church during their stays at Balmoral Castle. Princess Anne sported a knee-length white dress with flowers in her hair rather than a tiara for her walk down the aisle in front of only 30 guests, including her parents, two children and three brothers. Similarly, the future King Charles wed Princess Diana in an opulent ceremony at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. However, the pair ultimately divorced in 1996, and Charles wed his now-wife, Queen Camilla, in a much less extravagant event in 2005. Charles and Camilla had two ceremonies on their wedding day. First, they were legally married in an intimate civil ceremony near Windsor Castle. Only 28 guests were present, including the King's sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and Camilla's two children from her previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip did not attend their son's civil ceremony because, as the head of the Church of England, the Queen decided that it was not appropriate for her to be at the wedding of two people who had divorced their previous partners. However, they were present for the Service of Prayer and Dedication at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle afterward and held a reception for the couple in Windsor Castle. He works as a director of Maritime Passport Ltd. and lives a largely private life, which could also contribute to a decision to have a small second wedding. No wedding date for Peter and Harriet has been set yet, but it's likely that they will include their daughters in the event. Peter is a father of two girls — Savannah and Isla — from his marriage to Autumn, and Harriet has a daughter named Georgia. The couple announced their engagement after a year of dating, with Hello! magazine being the first to report the news on August 1. The reveal included new photos of the couple, featuring Harriet wearing her engagement ring. A statement issued for the couple by Gerard Franklin said, "Mr. Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms. Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr. Rupert Sanders and Mrs. Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement," according to the outlet. "Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement. Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have been informed of the announcement," the statement continued. Peter and Harriet made their public debut as a couple in May 2024 at the Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire, U.K., and they've attended several public events with members of the royal family since. Prince Harry is 'keen' for kids Archie, Lilibet to have British education: ex-staffer

Prince Harry is keen for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to follow in his footsteps by receiving a British education, according to a former palace staffer. The Duke of Sussex, 40, has been raising his two youngsters, ages 6 and 4, with his wife, Meghan Markle, in Montecito, Calif., since 2020. However, according to a former royal butler, the 'Spare' author is 'quite keen' for the pair's children to come to the UK for their education in the future. Advertisement 5 Prince Harry is keen for his children to follow in his footsteps and obtain a British education, according to a former palace staffer. Getty Images 'It's very likely and it's completely possible because if they have their younger education in America, I'm sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education, but then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes,' said Grant Harrold, former personal butler to King Charles. Harrold, who worked for Charles for seven years when he was the Prince of Wales, noted that while a UK enrollment is not set in stone for Archie and Lilibet at this time, much of the decision depends on the Sussexes' relationship with the Windsor clan. Advertisement 'Time will tell, but I'd like to think that they would get a bit of education here because royals normally do some gap year somewhere,' he continued. 'The king famously went to Australia, so it is possible that coming to the UK could be part of that for Archie or Lilibet.' At the moment, it seems unlikely that Harry and the 'Suits' alum, 43, would send their children abroad — especially after the family lost their bid for taxpayer-funded security earlier this year. 5 The Duke of Sussex, 40, has been raising Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, with his wife, Meghan Markle, in Montecito, Calif., since 2020. meghan/Instagram Advertisement Still, the option of boarding school remains — in addition to a potential university education for the young royals later down the line. And with recent so-called peace talks taking place between reps from both camps last month, it could well mean that a royal reconciliation could take place eventually, laying the groundwork for the option of British schooling. As for Prince William and Princess Catherine's children, it's no secret that the future king and queen have chosen to educate their three children within the British school system. 5 At the moment, it seems unlikely that Harry and the 'Suits' alum, 43, would send their children abroad. @meghan/Instagram Advertisement Currently, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are all enrolled at Lambrook School in Berkshire, England, which sits nearby their Adelaide Cottage home. However, it's been reported that George, 12, will be moving to the $82,000-per-year Eton College in September to continue his higher education. Prior to committing to Eton, the young royal had toured two other schools in North London, including Highgate School. 5 While a UK enrollment is not set in stone for Archie and Lilibet at this time, much of the decision depends on the Sussexes' relationship with the Windsor clan, the ex-butler notes. Alexi Lubomirski / Duke and Duchess of Sussex Despite the report, Kensington Palace has yet to formally announce the future of George, Charlotte and Louis' education. As for Charlotte, the 10-year-old is rumored to be following in her mother's footsteps by eyeing up Marlborough College in Wiltshire, England. The Princess of Wales, 43, studied at the school before meeting William at St Andrews University years later. Follow The Post's royal family live blog for the latest pics, news, exclusive details and more Advertisement Elsewhere, Harrold notes that the Waleses may opt to avoid the university route for their children altogether — and instead have the trio explore alternative options. 'I don't think it would be these days. We may find that George, Charlotte, and Louis might not all go to university. They may go straight to somewhere like Sandhurst,' the former palace staffer suggested. 5 It's no secret that Prince William and Princess Catherine have chosen to educate their three children within the British school system. Getty Images 'In particular, George, it is seen as vital for future kings to have had some sort of military training, so you can guarantee that George, whether he likes it or not, will have to go through that military training.' Advertisement 'Both William and Charles had military training. You're the commanding chief of the Armed Forces, so you've got to know the profession. However, there might not be so much pressure when it comes to George,' Harrold added. The Post has reached out to reps for the Sussexes and Kensington Palace for comment.
