ESPN Host Apologizes To NFL Fanbase For Training Camp Outfit
ESPN host Shae Peppler Cornette left her usual workplace this Friday to cover an NFC North team at training camp.
Cornette was a Chicago Bears reporter for Fox 32 prior to joining ESPN. She hosted her own weekly sports program, "Bears Unleashed." Additionally, she worked for the Big Ten Network and The Chicago Huddle on ABC 7.
Initially, Cornette helped out ESPN as a host for its college sports coverage. She was eventually promoted to "SportsCenter" host due to her work ethic. From time to time, she also fills in as the host of "First Take." That's only when Molly Qerim is off though.
As part of ESPN's "50 States in 50 Days" tour, Cornette was in Wisconsin with Ryan Clark this Friday to watch the Green Bay Packers during their opening week of training camp.
Even though Cornette is a fan of the Bears, she was willing to wear Green Bay's colors while in enemy territory.
Prior to this Friday's edition of "SportsCenter," Cornette issued an apology to Bears fans. Whether or not they'll forgive her is unclear.
"I'm sorry Bears fans...this was the hand I was dealt," Cornette wrote.
Considering the Packers have owned the Bears for the past decade, we'd totally understand if their fans are a bit offended by Cornette's outfit.
Will that impact Cornette's fandom for the 2025 season though? Probably not.
The Bears will begin their 2025 season on Sept. 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. They won't face the Packers until Dec. 7. Their second meeting will take place roughly two weeks later on Dec. 20.

After 2 ACL tears, can Cowboys UDFA find way to make roster in 2025?
The Cowboys have not one, but two young players with ridiculously unfortunate injury luck. DeMarvion Overshown was a widely heralded draft pick in 2023, taken in the third round out of Texas. He initially laid claim to draft-day steal in training camp, but an ACL injury washed his rookie season away, and a second more serious tear ended his torrid debut in 2024. But he isn't the only one from that class who has suffered mightily as well. TE John Stephens Jr, son of former NFL running back John Stephens and half-brother to 2017 US Open champion Sloan, was a UDFA signing from that 2023 draft class. Faced with much longer odds of making that club, Stephens was converted from wide receiver into an impressive pass-catching tight end. However in the same preseason game Overshown blew out his ACL, Stephens did the same. Stephens fought back to make the team in 2024, but without having a chance to see the field, was once again lost for the year when he tore his ACL a second time in October. Stephens doesn't have the same plot armor as Overshown in 2025, but he is back at camp, fully participating less than a year after the second tear. He will also be competing with Princeton Fant, a fellow 2023 UDFA. All of these players are behind Jake Ferguson, Brevyn Spann-Ford and Luke Schoonmaker, who are the top three tight ends as training camp commenced.
