‘Wicked: For Good' first look teases how Elphaba, Glinda's friendship is tested; Cynthia Erivo's take on ‘No Good Deed'

The excitement for 'Wicked: For Good' is on! The highly anticipated sequel has dropped a first look featurette showing Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo discussing the challenges in the friendship between the two characters they portray: Elphaba and Glinda. In the background, Elphaba (Cynthia) can be heard singing a few lines from the classic song 'No Good Deed,' including its central line "No good deed goes unpunished.' The featurette also showed a glimpse at Dorothy, alongside the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Lion. As the sequel concludes the tale of the witches from the Land of Oz, director Jon M. Chu said the story is about two friends trying to get back together in some way, even if the fates don't allow that. 'I believe their bond is unbreakable, but it is deeply challenged by the distance that they have to navigate,' Cynthia said, with Ariana adding that the viewers will get to see how far Elphaba and Glinda can push their friendship. Along with the release of the featurette are new character posters of Glinda and Elphaba. 'Wicked: For Good' premieres in cinemas on November 21. Aside from Ariana and Cynthia, the film will also bring back Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, and Ethan Slater as Boq Woodsman. —Jade Veronique Yap/CDC, GMA Integrated News
