Ryan Gravenberch sent off in Liverpool vs Crystal Palace as Reds end season with 10 men
Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was shown a straight red card for bringing down Daichi Kamada minutes after the hour mark in the Premier League match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace on Sunday.
As a result, the midfielder, recently named the Premier League's Young Player of the Year, will miss the first three league games of the 2025-26 campaign, unless the decision is revoked.
The Premier League champion had red card-induced suspension overturned in 2023.
Alexis Mac Allister's tackle against Bournemouth, originally given as a straight led to three-game ban. However, the suspension was removed after it was retroactively deemed a yellow card.

Manchester City transfer news: Ait-Nouri, Reijnders to join before FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Manchester City is close to a double swoop for Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri in time for the Club World Cup, according to reports on Thursday. Wolves left-back Ait-Nouri is expected to complete a 34 million pounds (USD 45 million) move to the Etihad Stadium over the weekend, Sky Sports reported. An initial 46 million pounds deal for Dutch midfielder Reijnders has been agreed with AC Milan, along with add-ons potentially taking the transfer to 59 million pounds. City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak promised last week to conduct 'swift' transfer business in order to give Pep Guardiola's men the best chance of winning the Club World Cup. Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki could also be signed in time for the tournament in the United States as negotiations between City and the French club are ongoing. After missing out on a major trophy in the recently completed season for the first time since 2016/17, City is hoping to bounce back quickly with a major overhaul of Guardiola's squad. It also spent more than 172 million pounds in January on Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez. The raft of new arrivals, however, could spell the end of England winger Jack Grealish's City career. Grealish, who remains City's record signing after a 100 million pounds move from Aston Villa in 2021, will reportedly be left out of Guardiola's 35-man squad for the Club World Cup.

Man United looks to overhaul forward line as it targets Mbeumo after Cunha signing
Manchester United has made a move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, a person familiar with the situation told the Associated Press on Thursday. The person spoke on the condition of confidentiality because United has not publicly declared its interest. The 20-time English league champion is planning to overhaul a team that has just come off its worst season in the Premier League era and missed out on qualification for any European competition. United coach Ruben Amorim has identified his forward line as an area in need of major improvement. ALSO READ: USA announces squad for CONCACAF Gold Cup: Sergino Dest misses out due to fitness concerns A deal has already been agreed for Brazil forward Matheus Cunha, and Mbeumo would add further strength to an attack that had the fifth-worst scoring record in the Premier League. English media said a bid of 55 million pounds ($74.8 million) was made for Mbeumo. The 25-year-old Cameroon international had 20 goals last season. By comparison, United strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored just 18 between them in all competitions. United ended the campaign in 15th — its lowest finish in the modern era and just three places above the relegation zone. United also set unwanted club records for the most losses in a Premier League season and the lowest points total.
