Haiden Deegan shrugs off last week, sweeps High Point motos for overall win
Haiden Deegan shrugged off his disappointing finish at Thunder Valley, where he had engine problems in Moto 1 and crashed in Moto 2, to dominate both races of the High Point Nationals in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, to score the overall win.
Tom Vialle scored his first overall podium of the season after finishing third in Moto 1 and second in the first race.

Levi Kitchen finished fourth with results of second in Moto 1 and sixth in Moto 2 and was elevated to the podium on the final lap after a crash for Chance Hymas.
Hymas was unable to capitalize on his momentum from Colorado. He experienced trouble early in Moto 1 before climbing to fifth, but had a much better performance in the second race. He crashed on the final lap and finished third in Moto 2. That position cost him the overall podium, but the news may be worse as he points to his knee crossing the finish line.
Garrett Marchbanks completed the top five with a 7-4.
In-Race Notes
Haiden Deegan got a wake-up call last week and decided that he needed stronger starts. He led Lap 1 in Moto 1 and jumped to the top of the leaderboard immediately in the second race.

Chance Hymas slotted into second, giving him an opportunity to see if he can ride with the leader.
Tom Vialle was third on Lap 1.
Meanwhile, Julien Beaumer crashed again after making a mistake in the first race. He headed back to the pits, bleeding from his mouth and nose.
On Lap 2, fourth-place Jo Shimoda and Casey Cochran rounded out the top five.
Shout out to Jalek Swoll; he was eighth on Lap 3.
Deegan found his rhythm and stretched the lead to more than five seconds over Hymas on Lap 5. Vialle was six seconds further back in third as the best battle is outside the top five between Levi Kitchen, Garrett Marchbanks, and Seth Hammaker for sixth.

Swoll fell back to ninth.
Shimoda crashed with 17 minutes on the clock. He fell to ninth.
Marchbanks moved up to fourth with Shimoda's mistake after getting around Cochran.
Swoll took eighth from Hammaker on Lap 8. Shimoda was up to seventh.
Cochran gave up his top-five finish on Lap 8 after Kitchen made the pass for position. With the additional points for his second-place finish in Moto 1, Kitchen would have had the final podium position with this move — but Shimoda was charging after his crash.
Shimoda passed Kitchen on Lap 11 and that changed the podium. Vialle moved into final spot with a fourth in Moto 1 and currently riding third.

Deegan won by more than 10 seconds over Hymas.
Vialle rounded out the podium after finishing 7.8 seconds ahead of Marchbanks.
Shimoda rounded out the top five.

Angel Reese shoves Sun player after getting hair pulled going for rebound; secures first triple-double
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese secured the first triple-double of her career on Sunday against the Connecticut Sun, but it didn't come without a heated moment during their matchup. In the third quarter, Reese and Sun guard Bria Hartley were vying for a rebound. Reese was grabbed as she tried to reach for the ball and she didn't like how Hartley played her for the board. Connecticut forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa stepped in between the two players, and Reese responded with a shove. A different angle of the moment showed Hartley grabbing Reese's hair as the Sky player went up for the rebound. Sun veteran Tina Charles was also involved in the skirmish as she had words for the second-year player. Reese seemed to signal to Charles that her hair was pulled. Reese and Charles were hit with technical fouls. Chicago eventually pulled away from Connecticut and won the game 78-66. Reese had 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in the Sky's third win of the season. She was two-of-seven from the field and made all seven of her free-throw attempts. Sky rookie Hailey Van Lith had 16 points all the bench, leading all Chicago scorers. Connecticut dropped to 2-8 on the year. Marina Mabrey led the team with 22 points and five rebounds. Pacers, Thunder getting set for a pivotal Game 5 in an NBA Finals that has been back-and-forth
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The ratings are down for these NBA Finals, as was expected. Oklahoma City vs. Indiana is a small-market series and the numbers reflect that, with viewership down about 20% from last season and on pace for the poorest TV turnout since the pandemic 'bubble' finals in 2020. Don't blame the Thunder and Pacers for that. It's been a back-and-forth over the first four games — and now, a best-of-three will decide the NBA title. Game 5 is in Oklahoma City on Monday night, with the Thunder trying to take their first lead of the series and the Pacers trying to head back home one win away from a championship. 'I do not care, to be honest with you,' Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton said when asked what he'd say to those who, for whatever reason, haven't tuned into the series. 'This is high-level basketball and I'm excited to be a part of it.' Game 1 had a frantic Indiana comeback and a Haliburton buzzer-beater. Game 2 saw Oklahoma City do what it has done in the majority of games all season: take full control early and roll to a win. Game 3 in Indiana had the Pacers' bench fueling a win. And Game 4 saw the MVP do MVP things, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 15 points in the final five minutes to carry the Thunder to a comeback win. Add it up, and it's Thunder 2, Pacers 2. The Thunder are outscoring the Pacers by 3.3 points per game; the Pacers are outshooting the Thunder by 1.4%. It's only the third time in the last 15 years that the finals have had all that through four games — 2-2 tie, 3.3-point differential or less, shooting within 1.4% of each other. Golden State-Boston had it in 2022, and Dallas-Miami had it in 2011. It all seems pretty even, and the looks aren't deceiving. 'It's good for y'all,' Thunder guard Alex Caruso said. 'Good for me, we'd be getting ready for a parade right now.' Parades in Indianapolis or Oklahoma City are going to have to wait at least until this coming weekend. This series seems like it could have debunked some of the tired complaints about the game in recent years: the nobody-plays-defense, too-much-isolation, too-many-3s arguments that have been out there. 'I think from an outside perspective it's great for the league,' Caruso said. 'It's great for basketball. I think these two teams play stylistically the best versions of basketball right now as far as pressure and being influencing and aggressive on defense — causing turnovers, making stuff hard and then offensively free-flowing, shot making, passing the ball. ... A great brand of basketball.' And that means it could end up as a great finals, whether more people start watching or not. 'We appreciate the opportunity to play this deep into the season,' Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said. 'If you're playing this deep into the season, your opponent is going to be really good. They have won 12 games to get to this point just like we have. You just know it's going to be an unbelievable level. There are definitely times in it where (you're saying), 'Man, this is a high, high level.'' This marks the 32nd time that a finals has been 2-2 going into Game 5.
