Julien Beaumer to sit out Spring Creek and Washougal to heal from High Point crash
Red Bull KTM and Julien Beaumer have mutually decided to sit out the next two rounds at Spring Creek in Millville, Minnesota, and Washougal, Washington, to allow the rider to heal from the ongoing effects of a heavy crash in the High Point Nationals in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. There will be a two-week hiatus following Washougal for the Loretta Lynn's Amateur Nationals, which gives Beaumer a month to recover before the final three rounds of the 2025 Pro Motocross season. 'Wanted to hop on here and give you guys an update for myself,' Beaumer said in a social media post. 'Unfortunately, these last two weekends have been very subpar, and I've been very frustrated. After racing Saturday, the team advised me to go see some doctors and try to figure out what's going on. Obviously, I had that big crash in High Point and I haven't really felt like myself since then. ... I'm still suffering from some lingering effects of the crash I sustained in High Point and the doctor advised me it's best if I take a couple of weekends off and get back to a hundred percent.' Beaumer started the Motocross season strong, with top-five finishes in Round 1 at Fox Raceway in Pala, California, and in the brutally hot Hangtown Motocross Classic the following week. He failed to crack the top 15 in Round 3 at Thunder Valley in Lakewood, Colorado, crashed at High Point, and was outside the top 15 in the two most recent rounds while riding injured. 'I'm disappointed,' Beaumer continued. 'I feel like I've let my team, everyone in my corner, down. I feel like we have a pretty promising start to the season in the first two rounds. It's disappointing to have to take a couple of rounds off. I'm frustrated, but I'm going to get back to a hundred percent and hopefully return to Ironman a hundred percent ready to go.' Beaumer is currently sixth in combined SuperMotocross League points with a 181-point gap to 21st in the standings, so there is little danger of dropping that far down the order. The top 20 riders in combined Supercross and Motocross points at the end of the Motocross season receive an automatic invitation to the SuperMotocross League playoffs. Drew Adams will skip Round 5 of the 2025 Pro Motocross season in Southwick, Massachusetts, to heal from a broken finger suffered in Moto 2 of the High Point Nationals. "In Moto 2, I had a decent start and was moving forward until I had a little tip-over," Adams said on social media. "I got back up and made up a few positions, then ended up having another tip-over and suffered a small break in my index finger on my left hand." Advertisement Adams finished 16th in the first moto at High Point but was forced to retire in the second race and finished 21st overall. Adams showed flashes of speed in the first three rounds of the 2025 season, finishing in the top 10 in one moto each weekend. Chance Hymas injures knee in High Point Nationals incident
Chance Hymas dabbed his right knee on the final lap of Moto 2 of the High Point Nationals and will be evaluated this week. Honda HRC has not yet provided a timeline for his return. Tom Vialle passed Hymas on the final lap of the second race, and with that move, Hymas dropped to fourth in the overall standings. It is unlikely he would have been able to conduct his podium interview in any event. Hymas rode directly to the Honda HRC hauler and was helped off the bike. Advertisement Hymas has a history of ACL injuries, but his previous two knee injuries were to his left knee. "All we know right now is that his right knee, definitely something's going on there," Lars Lindstrom said on the SMX Insider post-race show. "Unfortunately, we know a lot about these injuries with the other riders that we've worked with and then, obviously, Jett [Lawrence] this year. so, I'm not really sure exactly, the prognosis, of course. It seems like the ACL seems intact, but we've said that before. So, right now, we just know that his right knee is definitely injured and we're going to have to go see a specialist and see exactly what is going on." Hymas won his second Pro Motocross overall the previous week with a perfect round in which he was fastest qualifier in both sessions, earned holeshots in both motos, and led every lap on his way to a 1-1 sweep. High Point did not go as well. Hymas finished fifth in the first moto before recovering to ride second in most of Moto 2. Advertisement "It was a rough day for me at High Point—I went 5-3 in the motos, but on the last lap of the second moto, I dabbed my good leg, and now I'm dealing with a lot of pain in my right knee," Hymas said in a news release.
