Matildas trio Kyra Cooney-Cross, Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley reached Champs League final

Matildas trio Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross will play for the biggest prize in club football after helping Arsenal to a shock 4-1 win over Lyon in the second leg of their Women's Champion League semi-final to advance to next month's final against Barcelona.
Foord scored the fourth goal to seal the victory for Arsenal as the Gunners shocked Lyon and denied their Matildas teammate Ellie Carpenter another trip to the Champions League final.
Arsenal needed to overturn a 2-1 deficit following the first leg of the last-four clash against the record eight-time Champions League winners, and they levelled the tie on aggregate via goalkeeper Christiane Endler's early own goal.
Spain star Caldentey then made it 2-0 for Arsenal on the day to put them ahead overall in first-half stoppage time, and the visitors ran away with the tie after the break.
Alessio Russo scored just 27 seconds after the restart and Foord pounced on a calamitous defensive slip to get Arsenal's fourth goal.
Melchie Dumornay, who scored Lyon's winner in the first leg last week, pulled one back for Lyon but it was too little too late for them as Arsenal held out to take the tie 5-3 on aggregate.
Arsenal, who are second in the English Women's Super League behind Chelsea, will now face Barcelona in the final in Lisbon on May 24.
The Catalans qualified earlier on Sunday with a 4-1 win away to Chelsea sealing an 8-2 aggregate triumph.
Barcelona will be the overwhelming favourites as they head into the final looking to win the trophy for the third year running and fourth time overall.
Arsenal won the competition in 2007 when it was still known as the UEFA Women's Cup, but they are now through to their first final since then.
It is a remarkable achievement against a side that had won every game in the competition this season coming into the second leg, and who were aiming for their eighth final appearance in the last 10 years.
Lyon held the advantage coming into the return in front of their own fans at the Groupama Stadium, which was nevertheless far from full for the occasion.
They also had captain Wendie Renard back after injury and starting in central defence as the French international made her 500th appearance for the club.
However, Lyon never really recovered from a dreadful start as they fell behind inside five minutes in bizarre circumstances.
Damaris Egurrola tried to head away an Arsenal corner under pressure inside her own six-yard box, but only succeeded in playing the ball off goalkeeper Endler and in to put the visitors in front on the day.
Caldentey then got the crucial second right at the end of the opening half, the former Barcelona player collecting a Russo lay-off and firing high into the net from the edge of the area.
That meant Arsenal now held the lead in the tie, and they went further ahead right from the kick-off in the second half as England international Russo found herself through on goal and fired in.
There was then no way back for Lyon when Arsenal got their fourth on 63 minutes, as Vanessa Gilles slipped when controlling a short pass out by Endler, allowing Australian star Foord to advance and beat the goalkeeper.
Dumornay reduced the deficit inside the final 10 minutes but Lyon needed two more goals to level the tie again and Arsenal held on.

Jessica Fox finishes the opening canoe slalom World Cup of the year with mixed fortunes

Three-time Olympic champion Jessica Fox has finished the opening canoe slalom World Cup of the year in Spain with mixed fortunes, unable to add another medal to her C1 triumph. Jessica and younger sister Noemie took on the kayak cross event on the final day of competition at La Seu d'Urgell, which hosted racing for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Noemi, the reigning Olympic champion from Paris last year, was eliminated in the first round after an error negotiating the fourth gate. Jessica made it through to the semifinals but placed third, just missing qualification for the four-paddler final, which was won by France's Olympic silver medallist Angele Hug. Looking to build toward a title at the world championships on her home course in Penrith in September, Jessica won gold in the C1 after turning in a shocker in the K1. In the kayak, she was docked a massive 54 seconds in penalties to finish third last in the 51-strong field. But the 30-year-old showed her composure to regroup for the canoe event, and despite qualifying for the final in ninth spot, she blitzed the field in the medal race. Jessica finished 4.10 seconds clear to claim her 34th World Cup gold medal in the event ahead of Czech Mren Lazkano despite being penalised two seconds for nudging a gate. Noemie placed 20th after finishing an admirable ninth in the K1. "I'm super happy with that final. It was great to get out there and put out a fast run so it's a great way to start the season," said Jessica, who admitted her preparation had been affected by other commitments since winning both the C1 and K1 gold medals in Paris. "It's a new format, with one heat and then straight into the final and it didn't go so well in the kayak and I was quite disappointed so I wanted to come back and put down some good paddling. "To win on the first World Cup is a great start but still four more races to go for the World Cup series and then the world championships is the main goal of the year." In the men's K1 event Australia's Lucien Delfour had one of his best World Cup performances to win bronze. Delfour had the fastest time of the day but was relegated to third behind Frenchmen Titouan Castryck and Anatole Delassus due to a gate penalty. AAP

Snoop Dogg wants soccer stadium burger stand

Snoop Dogg wants to open a burger stand at Celtic Park. The Drop It Like It's Hot hitmaker has been a fan of Scottish side Celtic for over two decades and not only does he want to bring his own food outlet to their stadium, he'd be hands-on and personally serve the meals to fans. He told Scotland's Sunday Mail newspaper: 'There has always been the opinion that food at sports stadiums is never good but that ain't got to be the case. 'People know that Snoop is a cook and I would love to bring a pop up burger to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good. 'It's got to be Celtic Park man, I mean where else am I going to bring it. "The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation. The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple cured bacon. 'The Celtic fans are gonna love it, and to make sure they are just right, Snoop is going to be serving them himself.' The 53-year-old star has no interest in offering his food to Celtic's great rivals rangers. He said: "Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss!' However, Snoop has previously admitted he'd love to open a restauranr in Glasgow with chef Gordon Ramsay, who is a Rangers fan. He said: 'I have told him I want to open a restaurant with him and maybe it might even be in Glasgow. 'For real – we are always swapping cooking tips and I do mean swapping. 'It's not just one way traffic, I send him tips as well – he respects Snoop as chef. 'My boy Gordon has got a worse mouth than me but that's only because of his passion." Snoop revealed back in 2012 that he wanted to buy shares in Celtic after watching the Parkhead side beat Barcelona in the Champions League in November that year. At the time he said: "I got a lot of interest in soccer. It's not a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in sports teams but it is a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in soccer teams...I see how passionate Celtic fans are about their team and I could see myself making an investment if any of the board wanted to sell...I want to bring a bit of Snoop to things."
