Maalik Box Office Day 3: Rajkummar Rao's Film Mints Rs 14 Crore On Opening Weekend
Last Updated: Maalik Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajkummar Rao's thriller Maalik earned Rs 14.25 crore in its opening weekend. Maalik Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajkummar Rao's latest gangster thriller Maalik is holding its ground at the box office. The film wrapped up its opening weekend with a solid Rs 14 crore in the bag. Maalik, which kicked off with decent numbers, stayed steady through Saturday and Sunday. As per early estimates, Sunday collections were pretty much on par with Saturday, keeping the weekend total consistent and strong. Maalik wrapped up its first weekend on a strong note, with collections showing a steady upward trend. The film opened with an estimated Rs 3.75 crore on Friday and gained solid momentum on Saturday, raking in around Rs 5.25 crore. Early reports suggest that Sunday's numbers stayed consistent, adding another Rs 5.25 crore to the total. With this, Maalik is estimated to have earned Rs 14.25 crore over its opening weekend. The film saw fairly stable occupancy across major cities, with the best response coming in during the evening and night shows. On Sunday, the average occupancy for Hindi (2D) screenings peaked at 29.79 percent during the evening, while night shows followed with 22.81 percent. The morning shows were slower at 8.05 percent, and the afternoon slots managed a decent 22.43 percent. Regionally, Maalik found its strongest audience in Chennai, where it recorded an impressive 43 percent occupancy, the highest across all cities. Lucknow followed with a solid 30.25 percent, while Jaipur and the NCR region also performed well, clocking in at 24.25 percent and 23.25 percent respectively. In comparison, metros like Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru showed a more moderate response, with occupancy rates hovering between 18 to 22 percent. Cities like Bhopal and Hyderabad offered a lukewarm reception, but the film's steady turnout across North and West India helped balance the overall picture. Directed by Pulkit, Maalik stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role, adding yet another unique character to his varied body of work. The film also features Bengali cinema icon Prosenjit Chatterjee, former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, and Saurabh Sachdeva. The supporting cast includes Saurabh Shukla, Anshumaan Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire, Rajendra Gupta, and Baljinder Kaur. Despite its strong ensemble, the film has received a mixed response from critics and audiences alike. The News18 review states, 'Maalik tries hard to be the next Mirzapur but ends up feeling like its distant cousin who was never invited to the family reunion. Pankaj Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya's Mirzapur gave us a gritty storyline and iconic one-liners; however, Maalik serves as a recycled crime saga with no real punch. The violence feels random, the plot goes haywire post-interval, and the emotional beats just don't land. It's like watching someone try to recreate a gangster masterpiece with leftover scenes from Mirzapur." Written by Jyotsana Nath and Pulkit, the film was criticized for having weak dialogues and a confusing story. While Rao's acting was liked by some, the unclear plot hurt the movie's popularity at the box office. Singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria claims he was shot at in Gurgaon
Haryanvi singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria has alleged that unknown assailants in a car shot at him on Monday on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) near Badshahpur in Gurgaon's Sector 71. He escaped unhurt. Police said a probe has been launched into the incident. 'No one has been injured, nor has any vehicle been hit by a bullet in this incident. The Gurugram Police's Scene of Crime team reached the location. The alleged gunshot has not been confirmed so far. The incident is being investigated from all angles,' read an official statement by the city police. The 35-year-old singer-rapper called up the local station house officer (SHO) to inform them about the incident, said sources. He was allegedly standing near his SUV when the attackers came in another car. Soon after, he sat in his car and sped away. The attacker could not chase him due to the traffic, and he managed to escape, police were told. According to him, the attackers fired at him multiple times, but he was not injured and his vehicle was not damaged, sources added. An officer said that a team immediately rushed to the spot as soon as they got the information. A senior officer said the CCTV cameras installed nearby are being checked to identify the accused. Sources said police had earlier received a tip-off over a threat to a singer living in Gurgaon. The singer-rapper, who has been promoting Haryanvi folk music, has several hits to his credit. In 2014, he rose to fame with his rap song 'Ladki Kar Gayi Chull', which also featured in the Bollywood movie 'Kapoor and Sons', starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Fawad Khan. Fazilpuria had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election in 2024 from Gurgaon as a Jannayak Janta Party candidate against Congress's Raj Babbar and BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh, who was elected. The JJP was founded in 2018 by Dushyant Chautala, former deputy chief minister of Haryana. Last year, he was booked by the Gurgaon Police along with YouTuber Elvish Yadav, for allegedly using rare species of snakes and a .32 bore pistol in a music video. The duo was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with allegations linked to money laundering and rave parties. The agency had confiscated movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 58 lakh allegedly belonging to the duo under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with a similar snake venom case registered by the Noida Police.

Ramayana budget is Rs 4000 crore: Namit Malhotra calls Ranbir Kapoor, Yash starrer 'Greatest epic'
Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is making buzz for its grandeur, scale, exceptional star cast, and massive production budget. Contrary to all the speculations about its budget, Producer Namit Malhotra has broken his silence and revealed how much he is investing in it. In a recent podcast with Prakhar Gupta, Namit Malhotra talked about how Ramayana is his lifetime project. When he was quizzed about its production cost, he revealed it to be more than Rs 4000 crores for both the installments together. The producer said, 'Budget-wise, it was like…everybody thought I'm a lunatic because no Indian film by a long distance comes close to it. To put it simply, it will be like 500 million dollars by the time we are done on both films put together- Part One and Part Two, which is over Rs 4000 crores.' Namit went on to add, 'I say it like we are making the largest film in the world for the greatest story, the greatest epic that the world should see.' He further expressed that he still believes that he is producing a big movie at a cheap cost, when compared to Hollywood movies. 'And I still think it's cheaper than some of the big Hollywood films. So I think we're making a bigger film at a lower cost. For me, it's not a money-driven thing, honestly,' added Namit Malhotra. About Ramayana Cast and Crew For the unversed, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic spectacle that stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, and many other incredibly talented actors. The movie is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who previously helmed Dangal and Chhichhore. The background score of Ramayana is composed by music legends Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The makers are in talks with a Hollywood studio to distribute the movie across the world.
