PBBM Urges Filipinos to Use eGovPH App, Says It's as Simple as Facebook
In Episode 3 of the BBM Podcast aired Thursday, Marcos said he had instructed developers to make the app simple enough for non-tech-savvy users to complete government transactions conveniently. Citing a government study estimating that 89 million Filipinos use Facebook, the President emphasized that the same skills can be applied to using eGovPH.
The app consolidates multiple government services into a single mobile platform, in line with the administration's push for improved public service delivery and digitalization. Marcos said the goal is to reduce physical visits to government offices, even for older citizens or those unfamiliar with computers.
He added that expanding online transactions is vital for the Philippines to compete globally and conduct business efficiently. 'It's absolutely imperative now that children know how to use a computer, the internet, and to work online. It's not an option anymore,' the President said.

Marcos orders PNP to ensure reliable response for new 911 emergency system
President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Tuesday directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to guarantee prompt response to calls made through the country's latest 9-1-1 emergency system. Speaking during the 124th Police Service Anniversary, Marcos highlighted that the revitalized Emergency 911 Hotline has already handled thousands of calls, ranging from police assistance to search and rescue operations. 'However, the challenge now is to ensure that—rain or shine, during ordinary days and more so, in times of crisis—there are people who will be ready to answer our people's call for help,' Marcos said. 'This is how we rebuild the trust that the police will come no matter what time, no matter what the circumstance is, they will arrive.' He added, 'We owe our people a system that they can rely on.' The new 9-1-1 system, provided by a technology firm that won a contract worth over P1.4 billion, includes features such as caller location detection, according to the police. Earlier, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla urged local government units to pass ordinances penalizing prank callers to the national emergency hotline.

Marcos welcomes Ramon Ang's plan to lead Metro Manila flood control efforts
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday welcomed San Miguel Corp. (SMC) chairman Ramon Ang's offer to lead efforts in addressing Metro Manila's flooding problem. 'Thank you. What else will you say? This is the reason why from the very beginning I always said the private sector needs to be part of everything for our national development,' Marcos said in a Malacañang press briefing. Ang recently announced he is awaiting government authorization to begin large-scale clearing of the capital's waterways, with no public funds to be spent. Since 2020, SMC has carried out dredging and desilting operations in Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, and Pampanga under its 'Better Rivers' program. He recommended removing waste and structures, such as houses along rivers, that block water flow to drains and creeks, as well as relocating affected residents to sustainable housing sites. 'The proposal of Ramon Ang is certainly very welcome because we've seen his projects. The results have been very good. He's able to bring them in on time. And, you know, the man is an engineer, so I'm sure he has studied those very well,' Marcos said.
