Speaker Sadiq met with JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl in his chamber at the Parliament House on Thursday.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the overall political situation of the country, the upcoming federal budget for the next fiscal year, and the emerging regional scenario in light of the Iran-Israel conflict.
The meeting discussed Federal Budget 2025-26.
Both leaders agreed on the need to ensure budgetary allocations for the development of smaller provinces, economic stability, and public welfare projects.
The NA speaker noted that, for the first time in parliamentary history, parliamentary committees have been made more active in the budget proposal process so that constructive input from all stakeholders can be incorporated.
Maulana Fazl expressed deep concern over the Iran-Israel war, stating that "in the current situation, the entire Muslim Ummah must demonstrate unity, solidarity, and foresight to ensure that efforts for peace in the region are not undermined." He emphasised that Pakistan should further intensify its diplomatic efforts to play a reconciliatory role within the Muslim world.
On this occasion, Speaker Sadiq stated, "Pakistan has openly condemned Israeli aggression and reiterated its friendship and solidarity with Iran. We have effectively presented our stance regarding Palestine and Iran on all international forums, and the Parliament stands in complete support of this position." He stated that, all political parties must speak with one voice in the national interest to strengthen Pakistan's foreign policy on the global stage.
Maulana Fazl congratulated Speaker Sadiq on performing Hajj and expressed best wishes for him. Governor of Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail was also present during the meeting.
In conclusion, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting democratic traditions, strengthening national unity, and continuing joint efforts for sustainable peace in the region.

Govt's independence day ad draws criticism for excluding images of Quaid, Iqbal
An official Independence Day advertisement issued by Pakistan's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has drawn sharp criticism from political and social circles for omitting the images of the country's founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and national poet-philosopher Allama Iqbal. The advertisement, published in major national newspapers and aired on television channels, featured Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, as well as the chiefs of the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force. It also depicted cultural and minority representations. Independence Day: President Zardari, PM Shehbaz urge national unity for a just, equal Pakistan Former Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed posted the advertisement's image on X, calling it 'shameful' that Jinnah's portrait was missing, while featuring 'individuals holding temporary positions whose stature is owed to the Quaid's struggle and sacrifices.' Former federal minister Shireen Mazari described the omission of Jinnah's image as a 'glaring oversight' by the information ministry. Journalist Hussain Ahmad also expressed surprise at the absence of both Jinnah and Iqbal in the ad, calling it 'bizarre.' The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party criticised the move as 'a deliberate act, not a mistake,' alleging that since August 1, government-affiliated advertisements and billboards across the country had similarly excluded the portraits of Jinnah and Iqbal. It further claimed that a similar omission occurred earlier on May 28, Pakistan's 'Youm-e-Takbeer' (Day of Greatness), when government ads marking the country's nuclear capability did not include the image of the late nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, credited with making Pakistan's defense impregnable.

Anna Paulina Luna shares evidence and beliefs on interdimensional beings in Joe Rogan podcast
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) says she is 'very confident' interdimensional beings exist, citing photographic and historical records along with testimony from military pilots. Luna shared her views during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, released Wednesday, where she discussed unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and government secrecy surrounding the topic. Luna leads a House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform task force aimed at declassifying federal secrets. She said her interest in UAPs deepened while working as an airfield manager at Portland International Guard, where she met F-15 pilots who reported likely encounters. Although she has not personally witnessed portals or UAPs, she claims to have seen compelling photographic evidence and spoken with credible witnesses who allege the Air Force has concealed sightings. The congresswoman believes the U.S. has reverse-engineered technology from crafts 'not created by mankind' and that these beings 'can operate through the timespaces that we currently have.' Without disclosing classified material, she noted reports of 'movements outside of time and space' from trusted sources. 'Based on the photos that I've seen, I'm very confident that there's things out there that have not been created by mankind,' Luna told Rogan. Luna also accused the intelligence community of gatekeeping UAP-related information. She argued that dismissing thousands of historical reports as delusional amounts to 'a disinformation campaign' designed to silence discussion. According to her, some authorities maintain a 'protective complex,' believing the public may not be ready to handle the truth about UFOs. Her comments add to growing calls for transparency in the UAP debate, as lawmakers and the public push for more disclosures about potential nonhuman technologies.
