MetLife Stadium Further Enhances the Fan Experience with Stadium Upgrades Ahead of the NFL Season

Business Wirea day ago
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Jets and New York Giants, announced multiple stadium improvements that will elevate the fan experience for the upcoming NFL season, set to kick off with a preseason Giants vs. Jets game on August 16. The news comes during the busiest year in MetLife Stadium history as it continues to host the world's biggest events on the world's biggest stage.
Enhancements in place for the start of the NFL season include four new cornerstone video boards, a brand-new audio system, an updated distributed antenna system (DAS) that will increase 5G cellular capacity and coverage, and the installation of two sensory pods.
'MetLife Stadium continually searches for new ways to improve our guest experience,' said MetLife Stadium President and CEO Ron VanDeVeen. 'We believe these enhancements will provide an engaging event-day atmosphere for our guests.'
The cornerstone video boards are the first phase in replacing all LED video and digital inventory throughout the stadium to further enhance the game-day experience. Jets and Giants fans will immediately notice the crystal-clear images on the four video boards which feature an improved 8MM high-resolution LED for higher-contrast, crisp on-screen content and better viewing angles. Work to replace the tunnel entrance boards, the sideline-facing game-in-progress screens, the 360° fascia ribbon board, and the remaining video boards and displays on the concourses, plazas, and fan activation zones will continue through the NFL season and be completed in early 2026.
The tunnel entrance boards will feature the same technology as the video boards, and the sideline-facing game-in-progress screens and 360° fascia ribbon board will have 10MM LED resolution for even sharper graphics and stats. ANC, a leader in AV technology design and integration for over 25 years, is coordinating the installation of the digital signage.
MetLife Stadium's brand-new audio system encompasses more than 1,000 new loudspeakers installed in the main seating bowl, including updated subwoofers and the latest in amplification technology. Giants and Jets fans will notice improved sound clarity for game action and announcements, as well as a richer, enhanced audio atmosphere, and seamless, consistent coverage to match fan excitement.
Verizon has increased 5G cellular capacity and coverage in the seating bowl, in all the clubs including EY Coaches Club, Moody's Commissioners Club, Corona Beach Club, MetLife 50 Club, Miller Lite MVP Club, in the Ticketmaster Suites, and on the field.
MetLife Stadium strives to provide a more inclusive and comfortable experience for guests with sensory processing needs. The Stadium has installed two sensory pods designed to reduce sensory overload and will continue to provide sensory bags containing noise-cancelling equipment, fidget toys and weighted lap pads for checkout at any Guest Services Booth or Concierge Desk located throughout the Stadium.
Summer to Remember:
Multiple event records will be shattered this summer, as MetLife Stadium will host a record 40 events attended by over 1.9 million fans (previous high was 25 events and 1.3 million fans in 2023) before the start of the NFL regular season when the Jets open at home against the Steelers on Sept. 7. This includes a record 23 concerts (previous high was 18 in 2023) and a tournament-high nine FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ matches including five Group Stage matches, a Quarterfinal, both Semifinals, and the Final.
The record-breaking 2025 summer concert season opened with back-to-back sold-out shows by NFL Super Bowl LIX halftime performers Kendrick Lamar and SZA on May 8-9, followed by two sold-out Shakira shows on May 15-16. Beyoncé is now the No. 1-selling artist in MetLife Stadium history following her record five sold-out shows (May 22, 24-25, 28-29) that brought her total to 12 shows, besting Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, each with nine. The first half of the busy summer concert season wrapped up with three consecutive sold-out shows by The Weeknd (6/5-7), making him the top-selling black male artist in MetLife Stadium history. These 12 sold-out shows drew 620,000 fans and generated $138.6 million in ticket sales.
The eyes of the world were on MetLife Stadium as it hosted nine FIFA Club World Cup™ matches including the Final on July 13 which saw Chelsea defeat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in front of 81,118 fans. International soccer quickly turned back to concerts with three sold-out shows by Zach Bryan (7/18-20). Currently, MetLife Stadium is in the middle of four concerts in five days by three different artists – a first in MetLife Stadium concert history. The artists will share the same stage but will load-in and load-out their own production and reconfigure their floor seating.
The unprecedented week opened with back-to-back shows by New Jersey's own My Chemical Romance (8/9) and the Jonas Brothers (8/10), who both played their largest home-state shows ever, followed by Chris Brown (8/12-13). The NFL season kicks off with three preseason games in seven days starting with Giants vs. Jets this Saturday (8/16) and back-to back games on August 21-22 (Giants vs. Patriots and Jets vs. Eagles). The record-breaking concert season ends with System Of A Down and Korn (8/27-28), and Oasis (8/31-9/1).
MetLife Stadium just hosted the first-ever two-night WWE SummerSlam on August 2-3 which drew 113,722 fans making it the biggest SummerSlam in WWE history.
The record-setting summer of events kicked off with the AMA Supercross Championship (4/19), NFL Draft Party (4/24), Monster Jam (5/3), Bergen Community College Graduation (5/13), Fairleigh Dickinson University Graduation (5/14), and the Premier League Summer Series featuring Manchester United vs. West Ham United, and Everton vs. AFC Bournemouth (7/26).
FIFA World Cup 2026:
MetLife Stadium will again have the eyes of the world on it in 2026 when the FIFA World Cup™ comes to New Jersey. Eight matches will take place at MetLife Stadium culminating with the Final on July 19, 2026. The matches are projected to generate over $2 billion in economic impact for the New York New Jersey region, bring well over 1 million fans to NYNJ, and support over 14,000 jobs. In 2022, the Final reached a global audience of 1.5 billion viewers.

About the New York Jets
The New York Jets were founded in 1959 as the New York Titans, an original member of the American Football League (AFL). The Jets won Super Bowl III, defeating the NFL's Baltimore Colts in 1969 – a victory many believe led to the 1970 merger of the AFL and NFL that set the foundation for today's league. The organization takes great pride in a long-standing, year-round commitment to their community by implementing impactful programs that will positively influence the lives of young men and women in the tri-state area, particularly in disadvantaged communities. The New York Jets are headquartered at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, N.J.
About the New York Giants
A cornerstone franchise of the National Football League, the New York Football Giants began play in 1925. The Giants have won eight championships: 1927, 1934, 1938, 1956, 1986, 1990, 2007 and 2011. After twice winning two titles in five years, the Giants are the only NFL franchise with Super Bowl victories in four consecutive decades. Headquartered at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, N.J., the Giants enter their 101st season of play this fall.

WR Odell Beckham Jr. eyeing NFL comeback, will Steelers make a move?

Three-time Pro Bowl WR Odell Beckham Jr. has drawn interest from several teams and plans to play somewhere in 2025, per OBJ posted himself, he is not retiring, and he continues to train in anticipation of being on the field soon. Several teams are reportedly interested in a two-time All-Pro wide receiver who's eyeing a return to the NFL — could the Pittsburgh Steelers be one of them? On Wednesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that WR Odell Beckham Jr. is looking to play in the 2025 season and that several teams are interested in the former 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Beckham is best known for his four-year stint with the New York Giants — from his viral one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 to his three Pro Bowl selections during his time in Big Blue. The talented wide receiver was traded to the Browns in 2019 and has since played for the Rams, Ravens, and most recently the Dolphins in 2024. It's no secret that one of the weakest areas on the Steelers roster is at wide receiver. While the Black and Gold roster boasts several young, hungry wideouts, Beckham's veteran presence and proven track record of success could be a low-risk, high-reward move for the Aaron Rodgers-led offense in 2025. Countdown to Kickoff: Hero Kanu ready for his chance to shine

Hero Kanu leads a slew of defensive tackle transfers for Texas this year. Kanu is quickly becoming one of the leaders on and off the field. The countdown to kickoff continues and so do the breakdowns of new faces along the defensive line. Hero Kanu, the senior transfer from Ohio State that has really started to turn heads at fall camp. Only totaling 14 tackles during his limited playing time at Ohio State, he is obviously hungry to have a successful senior season and raise his NFL Draft stock dramatically this year. 2024 Stats: 4 tackles, Only playing against Penn St, Indiana, Oregon & Texas 2024 was a very interesting year for Kanu. He was getting similar headlines this time last year in Columbus, but then injured his knee in practice and was down until the Penn State game on November 2nd. From there, Ty Hamilton and Tyliek Williams had locked down the starting jobs, with others rotating in comfortably, so Kanu did not get the playing time he was expected to in fall camp. From there, he jumped in the portal shortly after the season and made his way down to Austin, and it's been all go for him. It seems he is as serious about his craft as they come and will likely be the 'starter' at DT alongside Travis Shaw Week 1 against his former team. This is a player that has been waiting for his moment, and had it taken from him by injury last year. This year, he seems ready to pick up where he left off before he went down. Growing up in Germany, Kanu played soccer much of his childhood, but once he outgrew(physically) soccer, he moved to the United States for high school to explore football. He's still comparatively new to this sport, and seems to finally be fully clicking for him in the last couple of years. He's ready to roll against his former team, and one of his former teammates is getting serious about the extracurriculars. Along with Travis Shaw, Kanu is one of the veterans of the DT room, with Alex January and Maraad Watson still developing. He seems to have taken that seriously and is becoming an important leader for this team. Someone who has had the career, and life that he has had can be super helpful to this team, especially this position group. Texas brought in five transfers on the defensive line this year. This is my personal favorite of the bunch. He was shining, and likely set as a starter a year ago but an injury took that chance away. He's ready for his moment in the sun and he has all the tools to become the next star at DT for the Longhorns. That first game will not be one he needs a hype speech for. He will be ready to roll, and I think this could be one of the more pleasant surprises for Texas this year. Tomorrow, we get into the homegrown Longhorn that is ready for his chance, Alex January. The sophomore from Duncanville brings a very high ceiling and motor to the position, and he, unlike Kanu and Shaw, we get to enjoy for multiple years in burnt orange. New Orleans Saints reportedly sign former Michigan State football lineman to contract

#UFL To NFL: New Orleans Saints Sign St. Louis Battlehawks C Mike PanasiukRead more via @ A former Michigan State football star is getting another crack at the NFL, but this time, it is coming on the opposite side of the ball. Mike Panasiuk was a star defensive lineman for the Spartans from 2016-2019, being the center piece for some very good Michigan State defenses. The Roselle, Illinois native ended up going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. After going undrafted, Panasiuk attempted to latch on with the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers as a defensive tackle, but nothing ever stuck. Now, the former Spartan has flipped sides of the ball and is getting another crack at the NFL. Panasiuk was an All-UFL performer in both 2024 and 2025 with the St. Louis Battlehawks as a center, being in the middle of the offensive line instead of the defensive line. This surge in performance on the offensive side of the ball has led to the New Orleans Saints being interested in the former Spartan, reportedly inking him to a deal.
