Four sin-binned as Roosters wallop Dolphins
A huge melee erupted at Suncorp Stadium after Roosters flyer Mark Nawaqanitawase scored the second of his three tries in the ninth minute.
Tricolours' forward duo Spencer Leniu and Naufahu Whyte were binned, as were Dolphins pair Frank Molo and Aublix Tawha after a fiery clash broke out.
From the ensuing kick-off Siua Wong was knocked senseless in an accidental head clash.
The late and great Arthur Beetson would have loved the physicality in a showdown that honoured his enormous legacy to both clubs.
The rugby league Immortal won premierships at the Dolphins in 1965, in the Brisbane Rugby League competition, and Roosters in 1974-75.
He played tough and he played with flair. The Roosters did it far better to stay in ninth position on 26 points, equal with the eighth-placed Dolphins. The hosts' for and against is still superior but it took a battering in their biggest ever loss.
Roosters captain James Tedesco had a blinder and won the Artie Legacy Medal for man of the match, but had plenty of mates. The Dolphins, without eight of their best players, hit a brick wall and were unable to thwart the rampant visitors.
Dolphins lock Kurt Donoghoe was heavily involved in all the early heated moments. His counterpart Victor Radley was in his face. It was magnificent theatre. The physicality of the clash was a throwback to the Beetson era, but the Roosters had all the aces.

Nawaqanitawase leapt high to snaffle a Hugo Savala bomb to open the scoring.
The man they call "Marky Mark" was in again after brilliant work by centre Robert Toia. Then all hell broke loose with the sin-binnings before the Roosters administered torment upon torment.
Speed demon Tevita Naufahu, who scored a double, crossed out wide on the wing with a show of blistering speed to claw the Dolphins back.
Roosters centre Billy Smith went over after a sensational tip-on by Tedesco. Radley crashed over and Savala scored before Leniu, relishing his reputation as the man opposing fans love to hate, stormed over to make it 36-6 at the break.
Tedesco notched a double inside eight minutes of the second half getting underway.
Nawaqanitawase was at it again to snaffle a high ball to take the Roosters beyond 50 and the procession continued with Daniel Tupou notching a late double.
The Roosters, brilliantly guided by half Sam Walker, made a huge statement about their premiership credentials while the ill-disciplined and bumbling Dolphins have a huge task to recover from what was a rugby league lesson they must learn from quickly.

After two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, Jalen Ramsey's time with the team ended with a divorce. Ramsey and the Dolphins agreed to part ways in April and, more than two months later, a trade got done that sent the seven-time Pro Bowler to the Pittsburgh Steelers. While no explicit reason for Ramsey's desire to play elsewhere was ever voiced, reports said he had an "irreparably broken" relationship with Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and the cornerback's social media suggested the same. Earlier this week, Ramsey seemed to continue to throw subtle shade at McDaniel when discussing the trade with Fred Taylor on "The Pivot" podcast. "I do appreciate the Dolphins and them working with me," Ramsey said. "Not just, 'hey, this team called and, you know, we're going to send you here.' ... Let's go to a team that's going to be able to compete. Let's go to a team where there's a lot of respect for the head coach." Respect for the head coach seems to have been the missing ingredient for Ramsey in Miami. Earlier in training camp, Dolphins tight end Tanner Conner told reporters that the team is better off now that "we've gotten some players out who might have not been as respectful." Who those players were is anyone's guess, but Ramsey seems to be at the top of the list of suspects. Ramsey also expressed regret on the podcast for angling to become a member of the Dolphins in the first place. "When I got traded from LA, I was literally praying to go to Miami, and it was probably not for all the right reasons," Ramsey said. "Obviously, football has always and will always be very important for me, but I also had other things in the back of my mind, too. Like, I want I want to live in a good city. I want my kids to enjoy life and, you know, be in the sun and have pools year round. I want my family to come to visit me." In exchange for Ramsey, tight end Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-round pick, the Dolphins received safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick in return.

Storm rocked by news about Papenhuyzen as Warriors make call on Jett Cleary debut
The Melbourne Storm have been hit with a brutal blow heading into the NRL grand final rematch against the Panthers with Ryan Papenhuyzen ruled out, while the Warriors shut down speculation around Jett Cleary's NRL debut. Papenhuyzen recently returned after four weeks out with a calf strain to play help boost the Storm with two wins over the Eels and the Brisbane Broncos. Papenhuyzen scored against the Broncos and was back to his best having combined with Harry Grant and Cameron Munster as the Storm look to chase down the Canberra Raiders for the minor premiership. Fans were excited for a battle of the in-form fullbacks this week with Dylan Edwards and Papenhuyzen set for a tantalising showdown. Although Craig Bellamy surprised fans having left Papenhuyzen off the team sheet with confirmation the 27-year-old suffered a concussion. Papenhuyzen's absence is a blow for the Storm who are dealing with a number of injuries to the side. The biggest is the loss of Jahrome Hughes. The reigning Dally M medallist dislocated his shoulder in the game against the Eels and was set to miss the remainder of the regular season. While there has been speculation Hughes could make a return earlier, Bellamy attempted to quell expectations. 'I don't think we're any wiser than we were last week,' he said about Hughes' return. 'He seems to be coming on pretty well and the physios are happy with the way he's coming on, so hopefully we'll get him back sooner rather than later. I'd just love to see him play a game before the finals to be quite honest, so we'll just see how that goes. We've got four weeks before the finals now, so we'll just see what happens." In good news for the Storm, Bellamy could welcome back prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona after he was named on the extended bench. The forward played in the Queensland Cup last week following a two-week suspension. To make matters worse, Te Maire Martin copped a head knock after just 23 minutes and was deemed to have suffered a category-one concussion, ruling him out of the Dragons clash. There were calls for Cleary to come into the side due to his form in NSW Cup. However, Webster refrained from handing Cleary his debut having recalled Tanah Boyd to the side. Boyd was dropped against the Bulldogs, but has bounced back up to the NRL in a vital game for the Warriors.
