The state of affairs as we know it is that Diaz is open to all possibilities - whether that is agreeing a new long-term contract, staying for the remaining two years of his current deal and then moving elsewhere, or agreeing to a transfer this summer for a fee. The player merely wants clarity.

Liverpool, however, are currently unwilling to offer him a new contract, and definitely not the terms the Colombian would be looking for, but the the club are also unwilling to sell him this season.
At left-wing with Cody Gakpo and Diaz, the Reds have the best depth in the world and choosing to lose that is going to require a bold call, even if two starters aren't required for the set-up to succeed.
Barcelona were interested in Diaz, and still are, except his asking price is going to be too high for them to complete a move. It's why Nico Williams didn't join from Athletic Club. Both are unaffordable.
Bayern Munich are in a far healthier financial position, however, and so they're also interested.

Complicating matters, 'the Italian team's president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is demanding the €75 million in two instalments.' Galatasaray is trying to get around this by 'committing to using nearly €80 million from an anonymous sponsor in an Italian bank for a specific period.' Could Man United get involved? While all signs point to Osimhen finally getting his move to Galatasaray, it will be interesting if the Turks can't agree a fee with Napoli before tomorrow's deadline. Australia breaks world triathlon title drought
Star triathlete Matt Hauser has made up a 20-second deficit to spearhead Australia's first mixed relay world championship since 2017. Hauser, also a member of the team that last won the title eight years ago, anchored the four-member combination in Hamburg, Germany. The Australian relay team featured fellow Paris Olympians Sophie Linn and Luke Willian, plus Emma Jeffcoat. Hauser posted the fastest split of 17 minutes 53 seconds over the 300m swim, 6.6km bike and 1.6km course. That gave Australia the title in one hour 16 minutes 52 seconds, beating France by three seconds with Germany a further four seconds behind in third. Germany had won the past two world mixed relay world titles and took out the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, where Australia was well off the pace in 12th.
