2025 NFL odds: Bengals' Joe Burrow biggest liability for MVP
Joe Burrow might not have the best odds to win next season's NFL MVP, but he's still making waves with bettors at one sportsbook.
According to BetMGM, the Bengals quarterback currently has the highest ticket (14.6%) and the highest handle (27%) to take home the league's highest honor in 2025, thus making him the biggest liability in this spot.
And he's not even the favorite.
Right now, it's Lamar Jackson with the shortest odds at +550. He's followed by Josh Allen at +600 and Patrick Mahomes at +650.
Burrow is fourth on the board at +700.
After completing the 2024 season with 4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns and nine interceptions, Burrow finished fourth in MVP voting.

Could Burrow finally take home the prestigious award for the first time next season?
FOX Sports NFL writer Henry McKenna is certainly high on him.
"His 2024 season was a fascinating demonstration of man vs. team," McKenna wrote. "The Bengals nearly dragged Burrow into irrelevance, and Burrow nearly dragged them back to relevance. Cincinnati finished 9-8, just out of the playoff picture.
"And Burrow deserved serious consideration for MVP. He was that good."
On "The Facility," co-host Emmanuel Acho explained that, when it comes to NFL QBs, Joe Burrow has "it."
"'It' to me is, if a play needs to be made, Joe Burrow will make the play," Acho said. "If a game needs to be won — more often than not — I trust Joe Burrow to win it."
Speaking of trust, based on recent comments, Burrow also has full confidence in himself.
"I've had injuries that kind of change the offseason mindset a little bit," Burrow admitted. "This year I don't have any of those, and that's great, because I can focus on getting better all around and becoming a more well-rounded player."

Ironically,the same player poll in The Athletic in April which dubbed Haliburton "overrated" had overwhelmingly backed Gilgeous-Alexander as front-runner for MVP. Haliburton did not even feature in the shortlist of contenders. - 'Ultimate confidence' - Indiana center Myles Turner says Haliburton is at his best when the chips are down, relishing the pressure of when a games is on the line. "Some players will say they have it but there's other players that show it, and he's going to let you know about it, too. He's a baller and a hooper and really just a gamer. "When it comes to the moments, he wants the ball. He wants to be the one to hit that shot. He doesn't shy away from the moment and very important this time of the year to have a go-to guy. He just keeps finding a way and we keep putting the ball in the right positions and the rest is history." Haliburton's knack of delivering under pressure has become emblematic of a Pacers side that gives the impression of a team that has forgotten how to lose. Lisa Leslie Sees Herself in This Current WNBA Star
Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson has quickly become one of the WNBA's top performers. In her first seven seasons in the league, she won the league MVP three times and was named to six All-Star teams. Last season, she averaged 26.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. She's done more of the same at the start of this season. On Tuesday, the 28-year-old scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead her team to an 87-62 victory over the Connecticut Sun. During Tuesday's edition of the 'Locked on Women's Basketball' podcast, Leslie, 52, said she sees herself in Wilson as they both get inside the box well and can shoot from anywhere on the court. 'I think, hands down, A'ja Wilson,' Leslie said. 'I see there's a lot of blurred lines in our game.' The Lions' Offensive Line May Be a Problem in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Detroit Lions have featured one of the NFL's best offensive lines in recent years. In 2024, they consistently opened up running lanes for their backfield and held opposing pass rushes to just 33 sacks while being led by three Pro Bowlers. Advertisement The unit is going to look a lot different in 2025. Kevin Zeitler left in free agency. Now Frank Ragnow has decided to retire. Glasgow showed signs of decline last season and The Lions Wire's Jeff Risdon revealed that he didn't think Glasgow would make the roster before the Ragnow news. Now he could be changing positions for the 2025 season to start for the Lions, The options to take the other positions could be good. Christian Mahogany was solid in his spot starts last season and Tate Ratledge was taken in round two for a reason. Advertisement The problem is that we just have no idea what to expect from these two or Giovanni Manu and Miles Frazier. It makes the decision to let Zeitler take a $9 million deal elsewhere look even worse than it did at the time. Luckily for the Lions, their division isn't exactly loaded with defensive interiors that strike fear into the hearts of their opponents. However, they'll run into some of the league's best interior defenders in other key matchups against the Chiefs, Ravens, Rams, Buccaneers and Eagles. Those last three teams could be particularly troublesome for the Lions' hopes of contending for a Super Bowl. Advertisement The Bucs, Rams, and Eagles were all playoff teams last season and the Eagles are currently the favorites to win the NFC again in 2025. Last season, it was their defensive front that really swung the Super Bowl as they kept Patrick Mahomes on the run. They've lost Milton Williams, but Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter are still going to be a problem for opponents. If the Lions can get through the top D-lines they'd face in the NFC, they'd then potentially run into star defenders like Chris Jones or Nnamdi Madubuike out of the AFC. The Lions should have no issues dealing with any of these teams on the outside with Penei Sewell and Taylor Decker at the tackle spots, but if the interior offensive line becomes a weakness, it could be a big problem against the NFL's elite. Advertisement The Lions should still be a very good team even with their O-line uncertainty, but for them to reach the Super Bowl that has eluded the franchise for so long, their young guards are going to need to be very good very quickly.
