Bride-to-be dies by suicide after blackmail by ex-lover
The deceased is Sairabanu Nadaf, a resident of Asundi village, and she was working as a physical education teacher in a private school and attained many medals in sports like wrestling at the state and national level.
Nadaf took the drastic step on Sunday when her family went to buy clothes for the marriage in Gadag, family sources said. "She brought it to our attention that a youth, Mailari, was blackmailing her with the threat of releasing their photographs and videos. We told her not to worry. She was normal when we left home by 10am on Sunday. As we returned by 6 pm, she ended life by suicide," they added.
Nadaf left a death note saying she was in an affair with Mailari and their relationship ended 5 years ago, police said. "However, she wrote in the death note that Mailari befriended her again on Instagram a month ago and wished her on her birthday. He also blackmailed her, saying he would release photographs and videos in which both are present. Irked by his threat and worried about the respect of their parents, she took this step," they added.
She had won bronze medal in national level wrestling 5-6 years. She had participated in kho kho, kabaddi and other events at district level.

Miss Universe 2017 contestant meets with accident as deer crashes through car's windshield, dies after a month in ICU
Kseniya Alexandrova, who shot to fame as the first runner-up at Miss Russia 2017 and went on to represent her country at Miss Universe the same year, has died at the age of 30. According to Russian news website Hola!, Alexandrova passed away on August 12, succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident in the country's Tver Oblast region in July. Following the accident, she had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at the Sklifosovsky Institute for Emergency Medicine. A post shared by Kseniya Alexandrova (@kseniyaalexandrova) The report further stated that Alexandrova was in the passenger seat when the car, driven by her husband Ilya, hit an elk which then crashed through the windshield. Elk is a large species of deer native to North America as well as Central and East Asia. While Ilya suffered no serious harm, Alexandrova sustained a serious head injury in the accident. 'From the moment it (the elk) jumped out to the impact, a split second passed. I didn't have time to do anything,' Ilya told Fox News in a statement translated from Russian. 'She was unconscious, her head was fractured, everything was covered in blood. The frontal bones of the skull were broken – it was an open cranial-brain injury,' he added. Beyond modelling, Alexandrova had built a career in mental wellbeing. In 2016, she secured a finance degree from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. She later pivoted to psychology, studying at Moscow State Pedagogical University, and eventually began working as a therapist, a report in Hola! said. Alexandrova regularly shared insights into mental health on her Instagram handle. In one post from April, she reflected on common themes in her therapy sessions. 'If I were asked what people most often come to therapy with, anxiety would definitely be one of the first on the list,' she wrote in the caption. A post shared by Kseniya Alexandrova (@kseniyaalexandrova) Her appearance on the Miss Universe stage in 2017 marked a major moment in Alexandrova's professional journey.

Man flies drone inside Pilibhit Tiger Reserve; probe ordered
'Flying drones in protected forest areas is strictly prohibited, as it poses a threat to wildlife and disturbs their natural activities. Strict action will be taken against the offender so that no one dares to violate forest protection rules in future,' ,' Singh told reporters. Deputy director of the reserve, Manish Singh, said a video of the incident is being examined. Pilibhit (UP), Aug 17 (PTI) A man allegedly violated forest regulations by flying a drone inside the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh, prompting the forest department to order an investigation into the matter, officials said on Sunday. According to forest officials, the accused has been identified as Arbaaz Ansari, who runs an Instagram page named 'Pilibhit Zone'. Ansari allegedly flew a drone without permission in the Mala zone of the reserve, a core forest area, recording visuals after stopping by a roadside stretch and later uploading them on social media. Experts termed the act illegal and dangerous for the safety of the animal species in the reserve. The Mala range is considered highly sensitive, with past incidents of poaching and illegal wildlife activity reported from the area, they said.
