It became a trending sound on TikTok and saw Junior propelled into the spotlight on his own for the first time.
He soon signed his first record deal but in the months that followed, a number of delays appeared to stall the release of further tracks.
Now, the son of Peter Andre and Katie Price has revealed there have been "challenges" for the first time but that his music is still very much underway and in the pipeline.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Junior said: "I haven't been putting pressure on myself and I've been overcoming a couple of challenges.
"It's nothing that I can't beat but it will be good in due time.
"Don't sleep on me - trust me, it's coming hot!"
Junior later re-iterated he was focusing on "music and acting" going forward as well as teasing plans for his own business as well as a fragrance line.
Junior is no stranger to music being the son of Peter Andre.
Peter is best known for his hit single, Mysterious Girl, and has continued to release music ever since.
He revived his music career shortly before his split with wife Katie with the track, Behind Closed Doors.

Katie herself is no stranger to being a singer having taken part in the 2005 Eurovision search with her pop song, Not Just Anybody.
She later teamed up with husband Peter for the duet album, A Whole New World - arguably her most famous musical release to date.
Katie released further singles with 2010's Free To Love Again, her well-known 2017 song I Got U as well as follow-up track, Hurricane.
In recent years, she has begun to perform at various events and has toured the country with her singing show.
New details on Junior's music career comes as his sister Princess took to the spotlight for the first time in her own right too with her ITV2 series, The Princess Diaries.
The show follows his younger sister's life as she prepares to launch her own make-up line.
However, the show has been mixed in controversy after Princess' mother Katie claimed she was banned from being featured.
Katie was reportedly left hurt after being banned from filming amid concern that it could be detrimental to Princess' image to appear alongside her mother.
It led to the mum-of-five declaring that she wouldn't bother to watch the programme.

Mum censors three seconds of Disney's Tangled but everyone says same thing
A mum has caused a stir after choosing to censor the same "three seconds" of a popular Disney film because she doesn't want her daughter to hear or be negatively influenced by it A mum has taken to 'censoring' the same part of a song in Disney's smash hit animated film Tangled but it's left many people disagreeing with her. Tangled, released in 2010, tells the story of Rapunzel, a princess who is kidnapped by the evil, narcissistic Mother Gothel who is desperate to hold onto her youth and beauty. She locks Rapunzel in an isolated tower and raises her as her own, all so she can use the princess's famous golden hair for her personal gain. This is because Rapunzel's hair has magical qualities that can heal wounds and reverse time, helping Mother Gothel maintain her looks. As the film progresses, Rapunzel's curiosity about the outside world grows and she raises these feelings with Mother Gothel. This leads to the hit song, Mother Knows Best, in which the evil character tries to instil deep fears into Rapunzel. She sings about 'ruffians, thugs, poison ivy, quicksand, cannibals and snakes' as well as 'the plague' and 'men with pointy teeth' in a bid to terrify Rapunzel. To hammer things home further, Mother Gothel then goes on to criticise Rapunzel's character, blasting her as 'sloppy, underdressed, immature, [and] clumsy', as well as 'gullible, naïve', 'positively grubby' and 'ditzy'. The next line, however, is being consistently censored by one mum who doesn't want her daughter to hear it. It's when Mother Gothel sings: 'Plus, I believe, getting kinda chubby," while tapping underneath Rapunzel's chin. In a video shared to TikTok, the woman's little girl can be seen from behind as she watches the film. When it's time for the offending lyric, the mum mutes the track before turning the volume up once it's passed. Over the top of the footage, the mum added the words: 'Muting the same three seconds every time my daughter asks to watch Tangled." But many other TikTok users thought this was an unusual and unwarranted tactic to take which could do more harm than good. One person said: 'She censored 'chubby' we are doomed as a society." Another said: 'Prepare the child for the road not the road for the child.' To which, someone else replied: 'This exactly. It would be the perfect time to open up a dialogue about why that line in context is wrong and why it's also wrong to apply to real life.' A fourth suggested: 'Couldn't you just explain to her why Mother Gothel is wrong?' While a fifth said: 'Since Mother Gothel is the 'bad guy' use that to help explain [how] what she said was wrong and bad." Offering a different perspective, another TikTok user said: 'God forbid she wants her child to be body positive." But someone else replied: 'The whole point is the evil character is saying this. Censoring anything negative is just going to affect her child later on..." Another person said: 'She's a villain, of course she's going to be mean. What???' And another said: 'Thing is, every time you pause it, you're drawing attention to it." Others were confused as to why the mum felt the need to censor the word 'chubby' but not any of the other negative things Mother Gothel said about Rapunzel. One person said: 'All of the other things she is saying and mom is hyper focused on the chubby part????' Another added: 'Why would you not censor all the other things Mother Gothel is saying. Things that are literally worse than the chubby line."

READ MORE: James Haskell says he'd still be married to Chloe Madeley if he'd stopped doing one thing James' stepping out with Bodhi comes after he confessed that his drinking habits contributed to the end of their marriage. Speaking at the Pub in the Park festival in West London he said, "If I put more time into my marriage than I did Guinness, then I wouldn't be divorced now." He continued to the Daily Mail,"It's one of those things in life where some things don't work out, but I have so much love for my daughter and Chloe. It's team work. What we all forget is when you have children and a marriage finishes, it's all about the kids. Chloe and I are amazing co-parents. Our priority is always Bodhi." James also confirmed that he is now single again after briefly dating advertising executive Helen Barclay at the start of the year. He said, "I don't really date. My priority is not that at the moment. I don't need anyone. I'm very happy and comfortable. My focus is, obviously, saying goodbye to my dad, work, and being the best dad in the best order." James now works as a DJ playing global venues and has previously opened up about how he achieved his visibly slimmed down figure following his change of career. During his stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! he discussed how his new regime was having an impact on his appearance. He was thought to have lost around 10kg appearing on the show due to the gruelling challenges and restricted eating that contestants have to deal with. He shared pictures of his chiseled abs and biceps to Instagram to show off the difference. James also attributed a 9kg drop in his weight to lifestyle changes during one of the final Covid-19 lockdowns in the UK. Taking to Instagram to share a comparison pictures of his changing body he wrote, "I got bored in lockdown 2 and saw how big I could get. 130kgs. Lockdown 3 I have gone the other way. I'm 8 weeks in and have gone from 122kgs to 113kgs. I've been training remotely with @altius_pt. Which has been mega, well thought out and programmed exactly. The idea is to get leaner now and then build back up slowly over the coming week. "It's been really fun to have a goal and stick to it. It gives you purpose, routine and discipline. All things we strive on as humans."
