Delhi Police Links Ex-RAW Officer In Pannun Case To Mahadev App Staff In Dubai
Yadav had earlier been named by U.S. prosecutors as a co-conspirator in an alleged plot to assassinate Khalistani separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
In December 2023, Yadav was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell following an FIR by a Rohini resident. He was accused of kidnapping and extorting a Delhi businessman, allegedly linking him with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He and his associate Abdullah Khan were granted bail in April this year.
Court records show that complainant Raj Kumar Walia was kidnapped and threatened by Jalaluddin, a Dubai-based contract-killer, who arranged payment through hawala. Yadav and his associate Abdullah received ₹16 lakh from Jalaluddin via this route.
Connection to Mahadev App Racket
The probe linked Yadav to Jalaluddin, an operator in the Dubai-based Mahadev online betting racket that is under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged money laundering worth thousands of crores.
Jalaluddin, also named in the Rohini case, was arrested on July 1 in Chanakyapuri but later granted bail.
Although his passport has been seized and a look-out circular issued, the court allowed his release, citing lack of criminal history.
U.S. Charges and Legal Implications
In the U.S., the Department of Justice had charged Yadav with "murder-for-hire" and money laundering in the failed assassination plot against Pannun. It led him to the FBI's "most wanted" list.
Delhi Police have informed the court that further investigation is ongoing.
Call records are being examined to establish clearer links between Yadav, Jalaluddin, and the Mahadev betting app network.
The connection of Yadav's alleged involvement in both the Pannun plot and the Mahadev app scam has highlighted multi-national criminal connections that law enforcement agencies are working to uncover.

Woman dies by suicide; husband, in-laws arrested for dowry harassment
A day after a 27-year-old woman died by suicide at her in-laws' residence in Ambegaon Budruk, Katraj, her husband and in-laws were arrested for physical, mental harassment and abetment to suicide on August 10. The couple got married on May 2, 2024, but within days, her in-laws began pressuring her to bring ₹ 20 lakh from her parents to fund a business. When she couldn't fulfil the demand, they allegedly subjected her to harassment, says police. They were produced in court on Monday and remanded in police custody till August 16. According to police inspector Rahul Khilare, in-charge of Ambegaon police station, 'The couple got married on May 2, 2024, but within days, her in-laws began pressuring her to bring ₹20 lakh from her parents to fund a business. When she couldn't fulfil the demand, they allegedly subjected her to harassment.' The woman's father has filed a police complaint. The complaint states that the woman had earlier filed a dowry harassment complaint in Solapur against her in-laws under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 498. However, the case was withdrawn after both families sought to resolve the matter. The C-summary report in that case was filed just 11 days before her death. Khilare said, 'We have arrested four persons, including the in-laws, and a relative in connection with the incident which took place at her in-laws' residence where she took the extreme step on August 9.' The police have booked the accused under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 108 (abetment), 85 (act caused by inducement), 115(2) (abetment of suicide), 352 (assault), 351(2)(3) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (dowry harassment). Reacting to the incident, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar on X posted, 'While the tragic case of Vaishnavi Hagawane's death over dowry-related demands is still fresh, yet another deeply saddening incident has occurred. Bodies of a married man, woman found in parked car in Punjab's Hoshiarpur
A 25-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were found dead in a car parked near a government school in Garhshankar's Satnaur village, police said on Monday. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, police said.(iStock Photo) 'Villagers spotted a black Maruti Alto parked on the outskirts of the village and got suspicious. When they went close and peeped in, they saw two bodies on the front seats. Loss of face, but AAP prevents more damage by withdrawing land pooling policy
Jalandhar: Though it is a loss of face for the Aam Aadmi Party govt and the biggest U-turn so far, by withdrawing the Land Pooling Policy, the ruling party prevented more damage to itself. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now As the opposition to the policy grew bigger with every passing day, it became oxygen for the opposition parties, especially for Congress and Akali Dal, as well as for all the critics of the state govt. On Punjabi social media, the state govt and the ruling party completely lost the narrative on the issue, as even their own were not coming forward to justify it. When the state govt has been discrediting farm groups and the latter also lost space due to their own flaws and follies, after the big victory of making the Modi govt to withdraw the three farm laws, the policy made the badly divided farm groups to unite. When AAP is known for strong discipline and every leader and worker has to follow the instruction by the party's central command, yet the MLAs and constituency in-charges, in whose areas the villages were coming under the scheme, did not dare to go to the villages to explain it to the people or to post their own statements on their social media accounts. They confined themselves to sharing the posts of the party's social media accounts. No social or economic group came forward to defend the policy even as the fault lines, subtle or explicit, exist. No party worker on the ground was ready to go among the people to justify the policy, especially after two party workers suffered the ignominy of being confronted by the farmers in Jalandhar village Kot Kalan on the night of July 24, their publicity material taken away and torched. The fear only increased among party workers as there was no dearth of videos on Punjabi social media where men and women from the affected villages issued warnings of serious physical consequences if anybody entered their villages. More than the farmers, the withdrawal of the policy has come as a big relief for the AAP leaders and workers, especially in the rural areas.
