Official: Juventus sell Mbangula to Werder Bremen

Juventus have officially confirmed the sale of Next Gen graduate Samuel Mbangula to Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen on a permanent deal after one season in the Bianconeri first-team.
Juventus have confirmed that Werder Bremen will pay a fee of €10m over four instalments, plus bonuses of up to €2m. The Bianconeri have also confirmed that the sale of the recent Belgium international has raised €6.9m in capital gains.
The 21-year-old has reportedly signed a five-year contract in northern Germany, which will run until the summer of 2030.
Werder had an initial bid of €8m plus add-ons turned down by The Old Lady just over a week ago, according to reports in Italy.

Mbangula leaves Juventus after a five-year association that began with his transfer from Anderlecht in the summer of 2020. He spent four years with the Primavera and Next Gen teams, before being thrown into the first-team set-up under Thiago Motta at the start of the 2024-25 season.
Mbangula marked his first competitive start in the Juve senior side with the team's opening goal of the 2024-25 Serie A season in a 3-0 win over newly-promoted Como in the first weekend of the season.

He would go on to score three Serie A goals last season, plus another against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. Only Kenan Yildiz (six), Khephren Thuram and Dusan Vlahovic (both five) provided more Serie A assists than the Belgian last term (four).
'We are very pleased that we were able to sign Samuel and that he has made a long-term decision to join Werder,' said Peter Niemeyer, sporting director at Werder Bremen.
He continued: 'We see a lot of potential in him. He enjoyed an excellent education in Belgium and especially at Juve and proved his quality at the highest level with Juventus' professionals last season.
'For us, this is a transfer that we have implemented with full conviction. We have always said that we are also willing to invest if we are convinced of a player and his potential. This is absolutely the case with Samuel. We are convinced that he will help us directly with his quality.'

Luka Doncic says 'whole body looks better' after summer of change: 'This is just the start'

Luka Doncic is a changed man. Just look at the photos accompanying a new "Men's Health" feature on the Lakers superstar. He's slimmed down. He's toned. 'Just visually, I would say my whole body looks better,' Doncic said in the article published Monday. His altered physique, however, is not what makes Doncic a changed man. His sleek new look is the result of much bigger changes in his lifestyle this offseason. Read more: Luka Doncic made Marcus Smart a believer in joining the Lakers According to the article, Doncic has been home in Croatia where he gets in two 90-minute workouts a day. The sessions included deadlifts, dumbbell bench presses, lateral bounds, resistance band drills, sprints and hurdles. The workouts wrap up with Doncic on the basketball court shooting jump shots. And Doncic's eating habits have changed too. His diet is now gluten-free, low-sugar and high-protein. He also uses an intermittent fasting plan the article says is "designed to limit inflammation and help his body recover better." The Mavericks selected Doncic with the third overall pick in the 2018 draft. He was the NBA's rookie of the year that season. The 6-6 guard is a five-time All-Star selection and led the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals. But in early February, Doncic was shipped to the Lakers in a deal that sent Anthony Davis to Dallas. According to an ESPN report at the time, the Mavericks initiated the talks at least in part because of 'significant frustration within the organization about Doncic's lack of discipline regarding his diet and conditioning.' Read more: Is Luka Doncic 230 or 260 pounds? Magic Johnson says new Laker must take 'conditioning seriously' Doncic acknowledged that narrative during his introductory news conference with the Lakers on Feb. 4 and said it would motivate him moving forward. 'It's a motive,' Doncic said. 'I know it's not true. I know. But it's a motive … it's a big motive for a long run here.' Apparently, he meant it. The day after the Lakers were eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs, the Men's Health article states, Doncic texted his manager saying he was ready to begin his offseason workouts. Doncic has worked with the same trio of fitness experts — a physiotherapist, a trainer and a nutritionist — since 2023, but this offseason has been different. 'I think that this summer, he sees the difference, and he's really happy,' Javier Barrio, Doncic's physiotherapist, told Men's Health. Doncic indicated that his newfound dedication to wellness won't end once the season begins. 'This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step," he said. "But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going. Can't stop.' He added: 'If I stop now, it was all for nothing.' Sign up for our weekly newsletter on all things Lakers. This story originally appeared in Los Angeles Times.

Incredible: Second superstar WAITING for Liverpool offer

It's not just Alexander Isak - a second superstar is waiting on an offer from Liverpool. The greats want to play for the Reds. Alexander Isak is essentially waiting for Liverpool. Whether that wait results in a transfer or not is another matter, though - Newcastle United don't want to lose him. Shop the LFC Store LFC Kits Shop Now LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now The more Isak pushes for a move, though, the more of a chance this one has. Liverpool are incredibly eager to sign the Swede, willing to break their transfer record for the second time this summer. In fact, they could break the British transfer record - Newcastle would certainly want them to. Fabrizio Romano is one of those confirming this situation. We're all just waiting to see what comes of it. There are promising signs, certainly, but we're also talking about the biggest transfer in Liverpool's history and unlike anything we've ever seen before. It's difficult to believe that's happening. But really, things are even crazier than that. Rodrygo Goes also wants Liverpool Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez reports that Tottenham Hotspur are now pushing to sign Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid. However, it's not clear whether the Brazilian is definitely moving away this summer. It does look likely, admittedly. Rodrygo didn't feature much at the FIFA Club World Cup under new boss Xabi Alonso and the club supposedly want to move him on. A bigger problem for Spurs, though, is that Rodrygo has his eyes elsewhere if he leaves Madrid. Alvarez claims he's waiting for an offer from Liverpool before deciding what to do. That offer has been reported as likely for a few weeks now. The idea is that Liverpool would move for Rodrygo is Luis Diaz left the club and that's certainly happening.

Official: Real Madrid star promoted to first-team

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week seen his efforts from last season officially recognised by the club. The player in question? Raúl Asencio. Stopper Asencio is for his part of course fresh off a breakout campaign in Spain's capital. Amid a personnel crisis at the heart of Real Madrid's backline, the 22-year-old was afforded a sudden opportunity at senior level. And this is a chance which Asencio went on to take full advantage of, courtesy of a number of fine performances. Nevertheless, as recently as this past weekend, the Spaniard remained registered with Real's Castilla outfit. But as alluded to above, on Monday, Asencio's emergence has been aptly recognised by those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu. As showcased below, the defender has been officially promoted to Xabi Alonso's squad, registered as a first-team player on Real Madrid's website. Conor Laird – GSFN
