2nd Round of U.S. Open Suspended. 13 Golfers Didn't Finish Their Rounds
'Just wasn't sharp at all,' Thomas said Friday. 'I felt like I really didn't play that bad yesterday; I had four tee balls that were 50-50 in the air of being in the fairway or not, and all four of them were not, and played those holes 5-over, so that can happen out there. I was very far from sharp and just didn't play well … (Oakmont is) right in front of you. You kind of know what you're getting here. It's tough, and you can't fake it around here and not play well and expect good things to happen."

The cut line eventually settled at 7-over, leaving a number of the top players in the world on the wrong side. Ludvig Åberg, Patrick Cantlay and Wyndham Clark (8-over), Min Woo Lee and Tommy Fleetwood (9-over), Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Akshay Bhatia (10-over), Sepp Straka and Nick Dunlap (11-over), Justin Rose (14-over), and Shane Lowry (17-over) all missed the cut.
While they won't be playing this weekend, all of those golfers won't have to come back to finish one or two holes on Saturday morning just to go home. Unfortunately at least 10 golfers will face that reality after the second round of the U.S. Open was suspended due to poor weather conditions.
Here's the list of the 13 golfers who didn't get to finish their rounds - with their score and how many holes they've completed:

Lawrence is almost guaranteed to make the cut unless he completely botches the final hole while Gotterup will make the cut with double-bogey or better and Barberee needs to play his final two holes in 1-over to make the cut.

All the other golfers on the list will be heading home bright and early in the morning - after being forced to finish their rounds.

In April, the NFL expanded prohibited acts to include banning the 'nose wipe' gesture that league executive Troy Vincent said is affiliated with gangs. The unsportsmanlike conduct rule now states: 'any violent gesture, which shall include but not be limited to a throat slash, simulating firing or brandishing a gun, or using the 'nose wipe' gesture, or an act that is sexually suggestive or offensive. 'There's no place in the game to be standing over your opponent,' Vincent said in a video that's sent to teams. 'There's no place in the game to have violent gestures. WASHINGTON (AP) — Jeff McNeil has a sore right shoulder, the latest nagging injury for the New York Mets as they try to recover from a late-summer swoon. McNeil was out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale at Washington, with Brett Baty starting at second base. One of the Mets' most consistent hitters, McNeil went 4 for 8 with a homer, two doubles and five RBIs in the previous two games against the Nationals. 'It doesn't bother him to swing the bat. It's just more the throwing,' manager Carlos Mendoza said. The shoulder problem began late last week, Mendoza said, which is why McNeil started at designated hitter on Saturday and Sunday. Brandon Nimmo was also out of the lineup Thursday with the stiff neck that forced him to leave Wednesday night's game in the second inning. Tyrone Taylor started in left field. 'We didn't see much improvement overnight,' Mendoza said of Nimmo. McNeil has experience in left, but the shoulder problem means he's not an option there for now. New York's series at Washington began Tuesday with the news that catcher Francisco Alvarez has a sprained ligament in his right thumb that will require surgery. Alvarez is hoping he can play through the pain after a stint on the injured list. Backup catcher Luis Torrens had a rough night Wednesday that included getting hit in his receiving hand by a bat on a catcher's interference play, but Mendoza said Thursday that Torrens was 'fine.' The Mets had a three-game winning streak before Wednesday night's loss, but the team with the biggest payroll in the majors is just 5-15 since July 28.
