ONE Fight Night 34: George Jarvis relishes shot at Regian Eersel's Muay Thai world title
The timing could not be more perfect, George Jarvis said, as the Briton gears up for a career-defining clash against reigning two-sport champion Regian Eersel at ONE Fight Night 34.

The 24-year-old will challenge the Surinamese-Dutch title-holder at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on August 2 for the Lightweight Muay Thai World Championship, and Jarvis described it as a moment that 'has been written' for years.
Visualising this opportunity, he said, had never left his mind since his ONE Championship debut two years ago.
'This is something that we've been working towards for a long time.' Jarvis told the Post.
'Since the day I made my debut on ONE Championship, it's always something I knew I'd eventually achieve,' he said. 'It was only a matter of time – and obviously a matter of getting the opportunity.'

Jarvis, who last November captured the attention of ONE's global fan base with a spectacular third-round knockout victory over Thailand's Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong at ONE Friday Fights 85 in Bangkok, said: 'As they say, everything happens for a reason – and we finally got the shot that I believe I deserve. I'm more than ready.'

Coach Kwok from TV show ‘Goal to Success' seeks same impact in Macau football
While Hong Kong were busy hosting Manchester United and beating India in their Kai Tak Stadium debut, neighbours Macau have been stepping up their quest for international relevance under their Hongkonger coach Kenneth Kwok Kar-lok. Kwok is a familiar face in many households after starring in recent Viu TV reality show Goal to Success, in which he built a competitive team from a group of women with no football experience. But the former Hong Kong under-23 and Tai Po boss is attempting another transformation, in Macanese men's football. His first task upon taking over last November was to secure more high-level match experience for his entirely amateur squad. Kenneth Kwok coached women with no football background in TV's Goal to Success. Photo: Chan Kin-wa Macau played a paltry three games last year. Before this month's two closed-door friendlies away to Chinese Taipei, their only outing this year had been a 2-0 defeat by Hong Kong in March.

Yang Hansen urged to emulate Yao Ming as Chinese players eye NBA Draft
Chinese basketball prospect Yang Hansen has been urged to embrace comparisons with the legendary Yao Ming as he awaits his fate in this month's NBA Draft. Advertisement The towering 19-year-old centre last month rejected any comparison with Yao, saying he had a gap to make up to be considered alongside the former Houston Rockets star, and did not have a similar playing style. But Rich Paul, Yang's agent in the United States, said the Qingdao Eagles starting centre, who averaged 16.6 points and 10.5 rebounds in 45 games last season, must aim to be like the eight-time NBA All-Star. 'I don't like to compare players, so I am not comparing him and Yao – I think this can be a problem for young players,' Paul said during filming for a documentary Tencent is making about Yang. 'But I think he should aspire to be someone like Yao. 'Devote himself to basketball while maintaining Chinese cultural characteristics. I think this is extremely important. Yang will get a lot of support back home, he will get support nationwide and this is a good thing for the NBA.' Qingdao's Yang Hansen (left) tangles with Yu Jiahao of Zhejiang last season.
