Dawid Malan hit a half-century as Northern Superchargers made it back-to-back wins in The Hundred with a dominant 36-run victory over Birmingham Phoenix at Headingley. Zak Crawley dominated the strike early on as he clocked up 45 runs – from a hit including six fours and two maximums – before being stumped by Joe Clarke off the bowling of Liam Livingstone. Earlier, Phoebe Litchfield blasted a half-century to help the women's Superchargers easily chase down Birmingham Phoenix's target of 116. The Phoenix elected to bat first on what looked to be a batting-friendly wicket and despite getting off to a decent start, they lost wickets at regular intervals to stop them posting a damaging score. Georgia Voll and Marie Kelly hit seven fours between them but were both bowled by Linsey Smith, while Amy Jones fell for one before Ellyse Perry was caught of her crease when a shot brushed the hands of Annabel Sutherland and hit the stumps as they were reduced to 75 for five. Sterre Kalis (24) and Em Arlott (32 not out) came together and put 57 runs on the board to help the away side post 116 for six at the halfway point. In reply, Davina Perrin and Alice Davidson-Richards came steady out of the blocks but they were dismissed by Arlott and Millie Taylor respectively as Birmingham looked to limit their opponents. But the game was soon over as a contest when Litchfield came to the crease and she hit 59 from 28 balls to guide her side to victory with 26 balls to spare.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke wants more signings after Dominic Calvert-Lewin transfer
United announced the signing of England international Calvert-Lewin on Friday afternoon and the 28-year-old could feature in Farke's plans for Monday night's home Premier League game against his former club Everton. Farke said: 'He will support us and from (Friday) afternoon will be a member of our squad. We are all delighted that Dominic will wear a Leeds shirt. 'With Dominic it's the first step, an important step, but there is still business to be done. 'There is no doubt we need reinforcements, especially in the offence. Dominic can't be the only step. 'We are on a good path, prepared for the first games and I hope when the transfer window is over we have a squad who is capable of fighting because we have one clear target – to stay in this league.' Calvert-Lewin, signed as a free agent after leaving Everton earlier this summer, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Elland Road. The 28-year-old has seen his progress stall in recent seasons due to injury and made the last of his 11 England appearances against Ukraine in 2021 in the European Championship quarter-finals. 'These boxes are all ticked by Dominic. He's in a really good age, proven at Premier League level with more than 200 games and 60 goals. 'We don't have to speak about his qualities. He has all the skills you'd like your striker to have. 'His last few seasons were a bit interrupted by injury, but he still managed to play 26 games last season. 'It's a chance for him to revive his career and reach former heights when he was outstanding at Premier League level.' Calvert-Lewin told LUTV after completing his move: 'It is like walking in today like a first day at school. 'I feel like a kid again that is just starting somewhere new and just can't wait to play and represent the football club.' Calvert-Lewin is Leeds' eighth summer signing and all of their other new recruits, barring suspended defender Jaka Bijol, are in contention to make their debuts against Everton. Farke confirmed a late decision will be made on defender Jayden Bogle, who only returned to full training on Friday after being sidelined for over a fortnight with injury. 'It depends how his body reacts,' Farke added. 'Thank God we have four more sessions and then we will see. If he comes though these four sessions, he's a topic for the squad.'
