Pakistan embassy celebrates 79th Independence Day in Muscat

Muscat: To celebrate 79th Independence Day of Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan organized a flag hoisting ceremony in the Chancery, followed by an event in the Embassy to celebrate Pakistan's victory in Marka-e-Haq.
Legendary cricketer Inzamam ul Haq was the guest of honour at the ceremony. A large number of Pakistani community members attended the event.
Messages of the President, the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were read out. A documentary on Marka-e-Haq was displayed.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naveed Safdar Bukhari, the Ambassador of Pakistan congratulated the Pakistani community on the Independence Day.
He said that through out our history, the Pakistani nation has always succeeded in overcoming challenges against all odds. In fact, the word resilience defined the people of Pakistan. In recent years, this was evident from Pakistan's ability to successfully revive the economy and put it back on the path of growth.
He said that while it was important to acknowledge areas that required improvement, it was equally important to be aware of our strengths and utilise them to chart a path to success.
Paying glowing tribute to the Armed forces of Pakistan, the Ambassador said that the glorious victory against India in Operation Bunyan un Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq was a testament to the highest degree of professionalism of our armed forces.
He congratulated the entire Pakistani nation on the victory and said that the entire nation stands behind our armed forces in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
The Ambassador also praised the Pakistani-Omani diaspora for their extremely important role in building Pakistan's economy through remittances and investments and acting as a bridge between Pakistan and Oman.

In his message, President Putin highlighted India's achievements, stating, 'India has achieved widely recognised success in socio-economic, scientific, technical, and other fields. Your country enjoys well-deserved respect on the global stage and actively contributes to addressing key issues on the international agenda.' He further emphasised the value of the bilateral relationship, saying, 'We highly value our special, privileged strategic partnership with India. I am confident that, through our joint efforts, we will continue to expand constructive bilateral cooperation across multiple areas.' President Putin added that this cooperation aligns with the interests of both nations' peoples and contributes to regional and global security and stability. 'This aligns fully with the interests of our friendly peoples and supports the strengthening of security and stability both regionally and globally,' he said. In a similar message of goodwill, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov extended greetings to Indian citizens on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. In a post on X, Ambassador Alipov wrote, 'Dear Indian friends, Heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day!' He further said, 'On the anniversary of this milestone in global history, I wish that all the aspirations of the Indian nation, progressing on the path of development and public welfare, be fulfilled. Jai Hind. Jai Russia.'

Indian PM Modi hoists tricolor at Red Fort to mark 79th Independence Day

New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor at Red Fort,as the nation marked the celebration of the 79th Independence Day. Flying Officer Rashika Sharma assisted the Prime Minister in hoisting the flag, after which flower petals were showered from two Mi-17 helicopters of the Indian Air Force - one carrying the national flag and the other 'Operation Sindoor' flag. Wing Commander Vinay Poonia and Wing Commander Aditya Jaiswal piloted the aircraft. PM Modi was received at the Red Fort by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS Sanjay Seth, and the Chiefs of the three services. The Prime Minister also received the ceremonial guard of honour by the National Flag Guard, the Indian Air Force, Army, Navy, and Delhi Police, totaling upto 128 people. Wing Commander Arun Nagar led the interservices guard of honour. Ahead of reaching the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajghat in the national capital and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi as the country marked its 79th Independence Day. This year's celebrations carry the theme 'Naya Bharat,' reflecting the government's vision of achieving 'Viksit Bharat' by his arrival at the Red Fort, the Prime Minister will be received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS Defence Sanjay Seth and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. A total of 2,500 cadets from the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with 'My Bharat' volunteers, are seated on Gyanpath, opposite the Rampart, forming the 'Naya Bharat' logo. With the aim to increase 'Jan Bhagidari' in this festival of national fervour, around 5,000 special guests, from different walks of life, have been invited to witness the celebrations at the Red Fort this year, including the Indian contingent of Special Olympics 2025, the winners of international sports events, the Gold Medalists of Khelo India Para Games, and the best-performing farmers trained & financially assisted under the National Beekeeping and Honey performing farmers traders/cooperatives who availed credit under Credit Guarantee Scheme for e-Negotiable Warehouse Receipts, Best performing Sarpanches of Open Defecation Free Plus Villages, Best performing Sarpanches of Catch the Rain Abhiyan, Best performing young authors under PM YUVA (Youth Author Mentorship Scheme), Best performing Youth, skilled and trained under PM-VIKAS scheme, Best performing entrepreneurs under PM Van Dhan Yojana by TRIFED, Best performing entrepreneurs of SC/ST community under National SC/ST Hub Scheme, Best performing students under PM-DAKSH, SHREYAS and SHRESTA scheme, Best performing Self Help Groups under VISVAS scheme, Best performing entrepreneurs by NSTFDC, Best performing Interns of PM Internship Scheme, Best performing My Bharat Volunteers, Beneficiaries of PM Awaas Yojana Gramin among others have been invited. For the first time, a number of band performances will be conducted pan-India on the evening of Independence Day celebrations to promote patriotic fervour among citizens and to celebrate the victory of Operation Sindoor. The performances will be conducted by the bands of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, NCC, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, BSF, IDS, RPF and Assam Rifles at over 140 prominent locations throughout the country. On the call of PM Modi, the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan has proved to fill the citizens with a national patriotic spirit. Tiranga Yatra was carried out across the country.
