Busy section of A41 to close overnight tomorrow
Herts County Council has posted its intention to make an order to temporarily close these major routes in the Public Notice Portal.
This is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.
The One.Network website states the closures will be in place from 8pm Monday to 5am Tuesday and a diversion will be in operation.
Here are four notices we've rounded up which could affect residents across the area.
Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit waiting on both sides of these roads while the works take place:
- The westbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue, Watford from its junction with the A41 The Dome roundabout north-westwards and south-westwards to its junction with the A41 Hempstead Road/A411 Hempstead Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 2587m.
- The westbound carriageway of A41 (Otterspool Way/North Western Avenue Colne Way), Watford/A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside from its junction with the A4008 Stephenson Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout northwards to its junction with A41 The Dome roundabout, a distance of approximately 1976m.
- A41 The Dome roundabout, Watford from its easternmost junction with the westbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue clockwise to its westernmost junction with the westbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue, a distance of approximately 107m.
- A412 St Albans Road, Watford from its junction with A41 The Dome roundabout south-westwards to its junction with Bushey Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 395m.
The county council is intending to make an order to prevent drivers from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit waiting on both sides of the roads while roads are carried out:
- Derby Road, Watford, from its junction with A411 Beechen Grove north-eastwards and south-eastwards to its junction with Grosvenor Road, a distance of approximately 131m.
- Grosvenor Road, Watford, from its junction with Derby Road south-westwards and south-eastwards to its junction with A411 Beechen Grove, a distance of approximately 31m.
This order, if made, will come into force on February 17 and be valid for up to 18 months but restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.

A Watford pub has applied for planning permission to install new fencing and awnings.
O'Neills, in Station Road, wants to install a boundary fence to the front terrace, and two retractable free-standing awnings and two retractable wall-mounted awnings to the north west elevation of the building.
Permission is required because it is a listed building.
Anyone having a claim against or an interest in the estate of Martin William Pinder, late of 9 The Crescent, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, WD3 3DU, who died on April 26, 2023, should send their written particulars to Archer Rusby LLP, 3 Norfolk Court, Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth, WD3 1LA.
This should be done on or before April 1, 2025.

This is to allow gas works to be carried out. This order, if made, will come into force on August 25. Astons Road, Moor Park – temporary closure An order is set to be made to prohibit all vehicles from using Astons Road, Moor Park from its junction with Batchworth Lane north eastwards to its junction with Anson Walk, a distance of approximately 76m, except for access, to allow works to take place. If made, this order will come into force on August 28.

If made, this order will come into force on August 18. Woodfield Rise/Caldecote Gardens, Bushey – temporary closure The county council is set to make an order to prevent all vehicles from using Woodfield Rise/Caldecote Gardens, Bushey from its junction with Little Bushey Lane south-westwards for a distance of approximately 483m, except for access, so utility service works can take place.
