Where new parking restrictions are planned in and around Watford
New parking restrictions, including double yellow lines, are set to be introduced in several locations in and around Watford. Watford Borough Council has published details of the planned restrictions in the Public Notice Portal. This is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications. The portal has also been used by Herts County Council to give details of the latest planned road closures for roadworks. All temporary closures are valid for up to 18 months from the date they take effect, but the restrictions only apply at times shown on signs at or near the relevant locations. Here are five notices we've rounded up which could affect residents in and around Watford: Watford Council is intending to introduce 'no waiting at any time' restrictions at these locations: - On north side Middle Way from its junction Middle Ope - On west side of Gade Avenue on approach to the junction with Rickmansworth Road - On the west side of Sheepcot Lane, between property no. 88-92 - On Sheepcot Drive from its junction with Sheepcot Lane - On Munden Grove from its junction with Balmoral Road - On Hill Farm Close from its junction with Hill Farm Avenue - At the junction of Avon Close and Severn Way - Around the turning circle on Farmers Close - At the junction of the vehicular access into property no. 12-42 with Haines Way 'No loading at any time' restrictions are set to be introduced at these locations: - Around the turning circle outside the North Watford Cemetery Entrance (A41 North Western Avenue) - At the junction of Briar Road and North Approach Furthermore, a single yellow line 'No Waiting Monday - Friday, 8am - 6.30pm' restriction is planned to be introduced at Balmoral Road, between Sandown Road and Bradshaw Road. Anyone wishing to make representations in support or objection to the proposals must do so in writing to Justin Bloomfield, Parking Services Lead, Town Hall, Watford, Herts, WD17 3EX by Friday, March 14. Herts County Council is intending to make an order to close the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of roads whilst works are in progress: - Talbot Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with High Street south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 298m. - The road fronting Nos.9-15 The Gossamers, Watford from its junction with The Gossamers south eastwards for its entire length. - Felden Close, Watford from its junction with Garston Lane north eastwards and clockwise for its entire length. This order, if made, will come into force on March 10. The county council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using Radlett Road, Watford, from its junction with Queens Road north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with the Orphanage Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 504m. This is to allow sewer cleaning works to be carried out. If made, this order will come into force on March 10. An order is intended to be made to close the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of roads whilst works are carried out: - High Street, Abbots Langley from its junction with Gallows Hill Lane north eastwards to its junction with Tibbs Hill Road, a distance of approximately 660m. - Long Lane, Heronsgate from its junction with Heronsgate Road south eastwards to its junction with the A412 Denham Way/M25 junction 17 roundabout, a distance of approximately 1365m. - A4145 Moor Lane, Moor Park from its junction with the A404 London Road roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A4145 Tolpits Lane, a distance of approximately 2230m. - White Hill, Rickmansworth from its junction with Northwood Road north eastwards to its junction with A404 London Road, a distance of approximately 1303m. This order, if made, will come into force on March 11. Herts County Council is intending to temporarily close Woodmere Avenue, Watford, from its junction with A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way south westwards to its junction with Douglas Avenue, a distance of approximately 79m. If made, this order will come into force on March 7 and it is needed to allow a utility pole to be replaced.

Major road among planned road closures in and around Watford
A section of one of Watford's busiest routes is among the latest planned road closures in and around our area for roadworks. Herts County Council has posted its intention in the Public Notice Portal to temporarily close part of St Albans Road. The portal is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications. There are also closures planned in Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley and Maple Cross. All temporary closures are valid for up to 18 months from the date they take effect, but the restrictions only apply at times shown on signs at or near the relevant locations. Here are four notices we've rounded up which could affect residents in and around Watford: Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the A412 St Albans Road, Watford from its junction with the southbound slip road leading onto the A411 Beechen Grove roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 300m to allow roadworks to take place. Additionally, all vehicles will be prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the road while the works are carried out. If made, this order will come into force on March 3. The county council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit vehicles from waiting on both sides of these lengths of roads while works are in progress: - Landford Close, Rickmansworth from its junction with Sherfield Avenue south eastwards, north eastwards, and clockwise for its entire length. - Grove Road, Mill End, Rickmansworth from its junction with A412 Uxbridge Road north westwards to its junction with Springwell Avenue, a distance of approximately 183m. This order, if made, will come into force on March 3. An order is intended to be made by the county council to prevent vehicles using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit vehicles from waiting on both sides of these lengths of roads while works are in progress: - Upper Highway, Abbots Langley from its junction with Long Elms north westwards for a distance of approximately 301m. - Upper Highway, Abbots Langley from its junction with Hazelwood Lane south eastwards to its junction with South Way, a distance of approximately 392m. - Park Road, Watford from its junction with Langley Road eastwards to its junction with Stratford Road, a distance of approximately 175m. This order will come into force on March 3. Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prevent vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit vehicles from waiting on both sides of these lengths of roads while works are in progress: - Langleybury Lane, Langleybury from its junction with A41 Watford Road south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, and south eastwards to its junction with Old House Lane, a distance of approximately 1254m. - A412 Denham Way, Maple Cross from its junction with Tilehouse Lane north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with the A412 Uxbridge Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 2646m. If made, the order will come into force on March 3.

Busy section of A41 to close overnight tomorrow
Motorists are being warned to expect delays when a near three-mile stretch of the westbound A41 North Western Avenue and part of St Albans Road in Watford will be closed overnight on Monday. Herts County Council has posted its intention to make an order to temporarily close these major routes in the Public Notice Portal. This is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications. The website states the closures will be in place from 8pm Monday to 5am Tuesday and a diversion will be in operation. Here are four notices we've rounded up which could affect residents across the area. Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit all vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit waiting on both sides of these roads while the works take place: - The westbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue, Watford from its junction with the A41 The Dome roundabout north-westwards and south-westwards to its junction with the A41 Hempstead Road/A411 Hempstead Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 2587m. - The westbound carriageway of A41 (Otterspool Way/North Western Avenue Colne Way), Watford/A41 North Western Avenue, Woodside from its junction with the A4008 Stephenson Way/the M1 (junction 5) roundabout northwards to its junction with A41 The Dome roundabout, a distance of approximately 1976m. - A41 The Dome roundabout, Watford from its easternmost junction with the westbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue clockwise to its westernmost junction with the westbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue, a distance of approximately 107m. - A412 St Albans Road, Watford from its junction with A41 The Dome roundabout south-westwards to its junction with Bushey Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 395m. The county council is intending to make an order to prevent drivers from using the following lengths of road, except for access, and to prohibit waiting on both sides of the roads while roads are carried out: - Derby Road, Watford, from its junction with A411 Beechen Grove north-eastwards and south-eastwards to its junction with Grosvenor Road, a distance of approximately 131m. - Grosvenor Road, Watford, from its junction with Derby Road south-westwards and south-eastwards to its junction with A411 Beechen Grove, a distance of approximately 31m. This order, if made, will come into force on February 17 and be valid for up to 18 months but restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads. O'Neills (Image: Google Street View) A Watford pub has applied for planning permission to install new fencing and awnings. O'Neills, in Station Road, wants to install a boundary fence to the front terrace, and two retractable free-standing awnings and two retractable wall-mounted awnings to the north west elevation of the building. Permission is required because it is a listed building.
