Panchkula Police's ERV response time improves by two minutes
During an interaction with police officials at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, on Saturday, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Himadree Kaushik highlighted that the average response time of Panchkula Police's emergency response vehicles (ERVs) has improved by two minutes, reducing from eight minutes to six minutes.
Kaushik added that this faster response will enable the police to reach incident scenes more quickly. She also issued crucial directives to the heads of all ERV, police control room (PCR), riders, and quick response teams (QRT), emphasising the importance of remaining vigilant for crime prevention. The DCP stressed that constant alertness across all units is paramount to avert any untoward incidents in the city.
Kaushik also instructed all officers to maintain a strict watch on suspicious individuals and vehicles, with increased scrutiny at all city checkpoints. Negligence during patrolling will not be tolerated, the DCP asserted. Furthermore, the Smart e-Beat system, used for real-time monitoring of patrolling teams, was reviewed to further optimise its effectiveness.

Man stabbed at bar in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: A man was stabbed at a bar in connection with a past dispute. The victim is Kaushik. In his complaint, Rahul said his friend Kaushik invited him to a bar in Yeyyadi for lunch on Friday. When he arrived, Kaushik and three others at a nearby table were shouting and using abusive language. The group appeared to approach Kaushik's table in a threatening manner. Rahul tried to calm the situation, and as the commotion escalated, bar staff asked them to leave. Soon after, a man entered the bar wielding a knife and stabbed Kaushik in the right side of his abdomen and left side of his chest. Shocked, Rahul screamed and ran outside, while the attackers fled. Bar staff rushed Kaushik to a private hospital, with Rahul following on his scooter. At the hospital, Kaushik revealed that about a month ago, he had a quarrel with Santu. Following that, autorickshaw drivers including Chinese Ganesh, Shiju, and Brijesh confronted him with abusive language at the bar on Friday. When Kaushik asked what the issue was, Brijesh allegedly stabbed him and fled after issuing a death threat. A case was registered at the Mangaluru East police station.

Man held for ₹30.47 cr trade benefit fraud using forged documents in Delhi: Police
New Delhi, Delhi Police has arrested a man accused of cheating and forgery to fraudulently obtain trade benefits worth over ₹30.47 crore under the Foreign Trade Policy by submitting forged remittance documents, an official said on Saturday. The accused, identified as Angad Pal Singh alias Angad Singh Chandhok, was arrested on June 2 after being deported from the United States, a police statement said. "He was earlier apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with another fraud case and is currently in judicial custody. "The case was initially registered in January 2017 based on a complaint from a private bank," Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikram K. Porwal said in a statement. The bank had alleged that 467 fake Foreign Inward Remittance Certificates were submitted by 18 account holders - belonging to 17 different firms - at its Naraina branch for processing export documents between September 2013 and October 2015, the officer said. He said that the FIRCs, purportedly issued by one of its branches in Delhi, were used by the accused to obtain Bank Realization Certificates , which were then submitted to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade to fraudulently avail duty credit scrips. "These duty credit scrips were intended as non-cash incentives under the Foreign Trade Policy, issued upon actual receipt of export proceeds. However, in this case, the remittances never materialised," the DCP said. Singh, along with his father Surinder Singh and brother Harsahib Singh, managed five export firms Kumar Trading Company, National Trader, Trident Overseas India, HSC Exim India, and AHC Auto Spares. Together, they allegedly forged FIRCs and obtained scrips, which were later sold in the open market, causing a loss of ₹30.47 crore to the exchequer, the DCP alleged. The accused fled India after the alleged fraud came to light but was eventually deported and taken into custody. He is also named in another EOW case. Three co-accused have already been arrested and charge-sheeted in connection with the case, police said, adding that further investigation is underway to trace the larger conspiracy and identify any collusion with bank officials.

Three arrested for shooting at sisters in southwest Delhi
New Delhi, Three men have been arrested after a 1,300-km chase for allegedly assaulting and opening fire on two sisters in southwest Delhi, a police official said on Saturday. The accused, identified as Ravi , Hitesh and Ashish , are friends, and they fired at the victims to avenge an earlier firing incident involving the victims' brother, Aman, alias Razzi. According to police, a case was filed by Ravi against Aman around three months ago at Dwarka South police station. "The complainant, a woman residing in Sector 7, Dwarka, was shot at by Ravi during a confrontation on June 1. She was accompanied by her sister at the time. The accused, along with his associates, allegedly assaulted the sisters and opened fire, injuring the complainant," Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Goel said. During the scuffle, one of the accused, Ashish, was caught by locals along with his motorcycle, while Ravi, Hitesh and another accomplice, Monu, managed to escape, the officer added. A case under relevant sections of the BNS was registered, and an investigation was launched. "Technical surveillance revealed that Ravi was communicating only through apps and using random hotspot networks. His last known location was traced to Manali, Himachal Pradesh," the DCP said. A police team was dispatched to Manali, where they identified and tracked the accused. They found that Ravi and Hitesh had boarded a bus back to Delhi. The team intercepted the bus at Murthal, Haryana and apprehended the duo. "During interrogation, Ravi confessed to firing at the woman with an illegal pistol, which was later recovered from a friend's house in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh," the officer said. Police are still searching for the fourth accused, Monu, who is absconding. Ravi has also involvement in three other criminal cases, including an attempt to murder. Further investigation is underway, police added.
