$1,500 reward being offered for information in helping locate missing Greensburg man
The Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office says that the family of Ruben Carranza is offering a $1,500 reward for information that might help authorities locate their son.
Carranza, 31, was reported missing in late July and was last seen in Greensburg.
Carranza's mother says her son had never disappeared like this before and had not checked in with his family to let them know his whereabouts.
Last week, police said Carranza's vehicle had been located in Acme and that their investigation revealed that the car was purposely hidden on August 5, the same day Carranza was first publicly reported missing.
According to police, the timing of the vehicle being hidden was no coincidence and that someone in the Acme area knows something.
So far, evidence shows the car was first taken somewhere else on July 29 before it was moved to Ridge Road. Carranza's cell phone last pinged in the Mt. Pleasant area.
Authorities say they searched there, Mammoth Park, Lynn Run State Park, and Beam Rocks, all places he visited often.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. If you know anything or spot Carranza, you're being asked to call Greensburg Police.

Mpumalanga police probe motorist's cause of death amid claims of brutality at crash scene
Mpumalanga police are probing the death of a man who was involved in a collision with another vehicle. This follows claims that the police assaulted the man at the scene of the crash. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate has been roped in. Mpumalanga police are investigating whether a 33-year-old man died in a collision in eMbalenhle in the early hours of Sunday or whether he died as a result of alleged police brutality at the scene of the crash. According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdluli, preliminary reports indicated that police were called to the scene of a collision involving two vehicles on Sunday. The man, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to a hospital but was certified dead on arrival. The other driver escaped unharmed. The investigation took a turn when allegations emerged that three police officers may have assaulted the man after the accident. As part of the investigation, authorities will focus on the cause of the victim's injuries and the events leading to his death, Mdluli said. 'An internal investigation has been launched immediately, and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has also been notified and is conducting its own probe,' he added. Acting Mpumalanga police commissioner, Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, said the police were committed to transparency and accountability. 'It is imperative that we uphold the highest standards of integrity within our ranks. Should it be established that SAPS members are implicated in the victim's death, there will be no leniency. 'We will pursue criminal charges against anyone found to have violated the code of conduct. Our aim is to ensure accountability and restore the community's trust in the police service,' Mkhwanazi added.

Father of missing California baby has felony child cruelty conviction
As new details emerge in the case of an allegedly kidnapped 7-month-old boy in San Bernardino County, authorities have reportedly taken the couple's two-year-old and searched the home with cadaver dogs, while an independent group devoted to finding missing kids has withdrawn its offered reward and suspended its search efforts. On Aug. 14, Rebecca Haro, the boy's mother, initially told investigators that she left her husband, Jake Mitchell Haro, and their other two children at a local park where one of the boys was having football practice to go purchase a mouthguard for him. 'I came over here and parked right on the edge,' she told KTLA. 'When I was driving over, I smelled the baby had went to the restroom, so I said, 'Don't worry, we are going to change you.'' After parking, Rebecca claims she laid the baby down next to the car seat to change his diaper. The last thing she said she remembers was hearing a stranger's voice before she was attacked. 'I was going to get the diaper and somebody said, 'Hola,' and I don't remember anything since,' she recalled in tears. 'I woke up here on the floor and I didn't see Emmanuel.' Officials with both the Riverside and San Bernardino county sheriff departments deployed K-9 units and helicopters during an extensive manhunt that was ultimately unsuccessful. An AMBER Alert was never issued in the alleged kidnapping because it didn't meet the criteria without a suspect or vehicle descriptions. Authorities now say Emmanuel's mother and father have been less than cooperative in the investigation. Sheriff's investigators said that when confronted with inconsistencies in her story, Rebecca refused to continue speaking to authorities. The child's grandmother, who believes the couple is innocent, said investigators asked Rebecca to take a lie detector test but that her husband Jake refused the request until they had a lawyer present. Riverside County Superior Court records show that Jake Mitchell Haro has a June 2023 felony conviction for child cruelty from a 2018 arrest in Hemet, The Orange County Register reported. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 48 months of probation and is scheduled to appear in court in early September for an alleged probation violation. While friends and family launched a search effort Friday night, authorities on Saturday reportedly searched the couple's Cabazon home and brought along cadaver dogs. Renowned comedian arrested in Southern California again 'At this point in the investigation, investigators are unable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emmanuel,' authorities with SBSD's Specialized Investigations Division stated before adding that the investigation remains ongoing. Officials with the Uvalde Foundation for Kids, who were offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Emmanuel, according to The Register, called off their independent search less than a day after announcing the effort. 'We cannot in good conscience, utilize our team and resources when so much is missing in this case. Of particular concern to us lies within the inconsistencies in the details and the sudden decision by the mother to end communication with law enforcement and our team…Something is not right in this whole picture,' the foundation's founder Daniel Chapin told the outlet. In the meantime, Rebecca and Jake Haro continue to plead for the safe return of the 7-month-old. Emmanuel is about 24 inches tall and weighs about 21 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and is cross-eyed. He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. Anyone who knows Emmanuel's whereabouts or has information on the case is urged to call 911, Sheriff's Dispatch at 909-387-8313, or the Sheriff's Specialized Investigations Division at 909-890-4904. 'Made a mistake': Tex Walker lifts lid on Izak Rankine chat as Crows face finals blow
Adelaide Crows star Taylor 'Tex' Walker claimed Izak Rankine will accept whatever punishment comes his way if found guilty of an alleged homophobic slur directed at a Collingwood player last weekend. The AFL are investigating the Crows star with more details set to be confirmed on Tuesday after Rankine was alleged to have made a homophobic comment towards a Magpies player during Adelaide's controversial win on the weekend. If the Crows star is found guilty he could face the prospect of missing finals footy for the top ranked side based on the precedent set in similar recent cases. And teammate Walker has taken to Triple M Radio to reveal his chat with Rankine. The key forward joined the radio show to discuss Rankine's situation having admitted the midfielder is 'remorseful' after the incident that could see him miss the remainder of the season if found guilty. "I spoke to him (Izak Rankine) last night on the phone and he is very remorseful and he understands that he's made a mistake and he'll accept whatever comes his way," Walker said on 104.7 Triple M on Tuesday. When asked about how Rankine was doing with all the media attention, Walker claimed he hadn't been outside since he was dealing with the situation behind closed doors. Although he was receiving support from the club amid the intense scrutiny. "He hasn't been outside and he had a full day of investigation with the AFL yesterday," Walker added. "I know that our footy club is a very positive and supportive environment, we will support Rankine, however, we don't agree with what happened. He's made a mistake." Rankine is facing the possibility of missing out on finals footy if he is found guilty. Sydney's Riak Andrew was handed a five-game ban in July after being found guilty of using a homophobic slur in the VFL, while West Coast's Jack Graham was hit with a four-game ban earlier this year after self-reporting his own anti-gay slur. Veteran reporter Caroline Wilson claimed the AFL are looking at handing Rankine a five-game ban if found guilty. It's understood Rankine did call the Collingwood player to apologise for the alleged comments but it remains to be seen what bearing that will have on the length of his likely suspension. Izak Rankine facing AFL finals ban Speaking on Seven's The Agenda Setters on Monday night, Wilson claimed was her understanding Rankine would be ruled out of the AFL finals with a five-game ban. "There seems to be no way out for Izak Rankine, just extraordinary," Wilson told the program. "In the past year or two the fines have only been expanded... if people keep doing it after the first instance then this is leading to a habit. And that's why it kept expanding with Wil Powell (five-game ban in May, 2024) after Jeremy Finlayson (three-game ban in April, 2024)." The Crows are currently sitting four points clear at the top of the ladder having defeated Collingwood in a thriller last Saturday. A top two finish is confirmed, but fans will have to wait to see if Rankine remains in contention to play again in 2025. "(Izak Rankine) will accept whatever comes his way...I know that our footy club is a very positive and supportive environment and we will support Ranks, however, we don't agree with what happened."TEX WALKER 🎧 — Triple M Footy (@triplemfooty) August 19, 2025
