Guerschon Yabusele gives his thoughts on why Sixers fell short in 2025
Instead, injuries decimated the roster. George played only 41 games. Embiid only played 19. Maxey played 52. Those three stars played 18 games together--finishing only 15 of them. First-round pick Jared McCain was limited to only 23 games after a meniscus tear in his left knee. It was a nightmare season for Philadelphia.
Guerschon Yabusele, a real find for the Sixers, played 70 games and averaged 11.0 points and 45.6 rebounds for Philadelphia. Unfortunately, the Sixers lost him in free agency as he signed with the rival New York Knicks.
On the most recent episode of "The Roommates Show", Yabusele opened up on why he believes things went wrong for the Sixers. He acknowledged the injuries, but there was one factor that he believes messed them up a bit:
I feel like we tried. Then what really changed the team a little bit was, in my opinion, was the trades. I feel like we was there. Guys was just injured. We should have trusted a little bit more that, and try to let the guys come back to be able to pursue, try to get to the playoffs, and then I feel like when we changed that, basically we changed, you know, four guys or something like that, and then it's like four new guys coming up. Then it was a lot of guys that keep getting signed for 10-day contracts here and there. So it was hard to find the chemistry with the teammates, but other than that, I would say we tried, or at least I tried to give my best and everything every night to make sure that we still got to show the positive signs. I was not hurt. So it's no way that I come out there and then be sloppy. I just feel like it was just my mentality going to every game.
Yabusele will look to give the Knicks a boost off the bench with his ability to put the ball in the basket down low or from the perimeter. He also plays with a ton of energy night in and night out so the Sixers will miss that high motor while New York will benefit from it.

NFLPA clarifies smelling salts ban, says players can still use them this season after George Kittle's complaints
George Kittle doesn't have to worry about his smelling salts after all. He's just going to have to start bringing his own. The NFLPA clarified the league's new rule on smelling salts in a memo to players on Wednesday night, according to ESPN's Kalyn Kahler. While teams are now prohibited from providing or supplying them in any form, the new policy does not stop players from actually using the substances. The San Francisco 49ers tight end aired his grievances on the NFL Network on Tuesday after breaking the news himself, and said that the league's decision to ban the use of smelling salts left him 'distraught.' He said he actually uses them on 'every drive' during games. "I considered retirement," he said, jokingly. "We've got to come up with a middle ground here, guys. Somebody help me out. Somebody come up with a good idea." Smelling salts have been traditionally used to treat fainting victims, but they have become popular among athletes in recent years as a perceived energy boost. The NFL, however, cited a 2024 memo from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration when explaining its ban following the NFL Network segment. It refers to smelling salts as ammonia inhalants (AIs). The FDA memo it cited also reported adverse side effects of using unapproved AIs, including "shortness of breath, seizures, migraines, vomiting, diarrhea, and fainting from consumers after using these types of products, possibly purchased through various websites." "The FDA noted potential negative effects from AI use," the memo states. "AIs also have the potential to mask certain neurologic signs and symptoms, including some potential signs of concussion. "As a result, the NFL head, neck and spine committee recommended prohibiting the use of AIs for any purpose during play in the NFL." While it may not be the healthiest thing to be doing, Kittle and others will still be allowed to use smelling salts on the sidelines this season. They'll just have to start supplying their own.

Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at sixth-year defensive lineman Malcolm Roach, No. 97. Before the : Roach (6-3, 290 pounds) began his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted college free agent prior to the 2020 season. In his rookie season, Roach played in nine games with 16 total tackles (seven solo, nine assisted, two tackles for loss). In 2021, Roach played in seven games, starting two of them. His tackle totals went down to 10 (four solo, six assisted), but he did have an interception. In 2022, Roach's production went up significantly when he played in 13 games (three starts). Roach made 26 total tackles (14 solo, 12 assisted, two tackles for loss) and one sack. In 2023, Roach's final season in New Orleans, he posted some of the best numbers of his career, playing in 12 games, making 28 total tackles (13 solo, 25 assisted, three tackles for loss) and three pass deflections. Broncos tenure: Roach was signed by the Denver Broncos as an unrestricted free agent prior to the 2024 season. What transpired was the most productive season of his career. Roach went on a tear, in 17 games and one playoff game, Roach made a combined 44 tackles (19 solo, 25 assisted, five tackles for loss) 2.5 sacks, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. GM George Paton has since called Roach one of the team's top free agent additions from 2024. Chances to make the 53-man roster: Lock as a rotational defensive lineman. Roach showed his potential with the best year of his career in 2024. Story emerges of Sixers' Allen Iverson losing game of HORSE to rapper
Every basketball fan knows how prolific Allen Iverson was during his prime for the Philadelphia 76ers. The 6-foot guard from Georgetown was phenomenal with the ball in his hands, took home an MVP award, and lifted the Sixers to the finals in 2001. Overall, Iverson averaged 26.7 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.7 rebounds while being the smallest guy on the court more times than not. The man they called "The Answer" backed down from nobody and more often than not came out on top on the basketball court. However, even the greats take their losses. On the latest episode of The Wave's "7pm in Brooklyn", rapper Jermaine Dupri revealed that Iverson lost a game of HORSE against longtime rapper, Nelly: To his (Iverson's) defense, y'all be shooting the ball so high, and my ceiling ain't as high as the stadium. So unfortunately, a couple of times he shot the ball up it hit the Nelly was shooting like my gym was his gym. Iverson will never be able to live that down, but at the same time, losses do happen. One has to give credit to Nelly for coming out on top against one of the game's all-time greats.
