Mariah Carey's Fans Already Have Their 'Song Of The Summer' Amid 16th Album Anticipation

Yahoo21-07-2025
is back, and fans are already calling her tease track the song of the summer before it is even out. The music icon had all eyes on her after posting a sultry Instagram photo in a low-cut pink dress to tease her upcoming project.
Now, with Mariah Carey's 16th studio album "Here For It All" officially set to drop in September, excitement is at an all-time high.
Mariah Carey Drops Teaser For 'Sugar Sweet' In A Tantalizing Dress
The icon took to Instagram wearing a revealing pink dress as she teased her new single, "Sugar Sweet," from her upcoming album "Here For It All." In the playful clip, filmed in a kitchen, Carey is seen baking while the light-hearted track plays in the background.
The snippet includes the catchy hook, "I'mma keep it nice, I'mma keep it neat, I'mma keep it sugar, I'mma keep it sweet," and that was all fans needed to lose it in the comments.
"From only these ten seconds, I'm already positive this is my song of the summer," one declared. Another agreed, exclaiming, "Oh my God! This one's gonna break every chart this summer."
A third gushed, "OMG WE ARE SO BACK. MASTERPIECE ALREADY." Others were just as hyped, writing, "Inject it into my veins" and "We need it nowwwwww!!!!"
The Record Producer Drops Album Date In Sleek All-Black Look
After stealing the weekend spotlight in pink, Carey flipped the vibe on Monday with an all-black outfit to officially announce her long-awaited album, "Here For It All."
In a teaser clip posted to Instagram, the 56-year-old strutted in heels, rocking a fitted black tank and leggings as she flipped her hair, posed for the camera, and gave a taste of her powerful vocals from the title track. The video's caption read, "Here For It All. My new album out 9/26. Pre-order now!"
The announcement sent fans into a frenzy. "ALBUM OF THE YEAR," one person wrote, clearly convinced by just a few seconds of vocals. Another added, "Waited 7 years for this."
"The heels? Oh I'm so ready," one fan gushed, while someone else added, "Thank you for making this Monday not so bleak." One comment summed up the excitement best: "COME ONNNNN Mimi! And we the people are Here For It All!"
Inside The 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' Hitmaker's Upcoming Album
Carey is officially back with her 16th studio album, dropping September 26, and the buzz is already building. Harper's Bazaar reported that the album's lead single, "Type Dangerous," was released last month, accompanied by a high-energy music video.
Co-written and co-produced with Anderson .Paak, the track, since its release, has had several remixes featuring names like Big Sean, Busta Rhymes, DJ Snake, and Luísa Sonza.
Another surprising fact is that the album has been in development for some time. The outlet highlights that Carey first hinted at new music during a "Good Morning America" appearance in November 2023.
Then, in a May 2024 interview with Variety, she confirmed that she had been writing new material and sorting through which songs would make the cut.
How The Songwriter's New Album Stacks Up Against Her Record-Breaking Past
As the mother of two gears up to drop her 16th studio album, it is noteworthy to reflect on the music milestones that helped cement her as one of the best-selling artists of all time.
Wikipedia notes that Carey's most significant commercial success came with her 1993 album "Music Box," which sold over 28 million copies worldwide and earned Diamond certification in the U.S.
It topped charts globally and remains one of the best-selling albums in music history. The only other album to mirror that success came two years later. In 1995, "Daydream" was her second Diamond-certified project, moving 20 million copies worldwide.
Another album that achieved commercial success was "Merry Christmas," which found massive success in Asia, to the extent that Billboard named her the best-selling international artist in Japan.
She maintained the momentum with "Butterfly" (1997) and her greatest hits compilation, "#1's" (1998), both of which were certified five times platinum in the U.S. Although her seventh studio album, "Rainbow" (1999), did not top the U.S. charts, it still went triple Platinum.
Mariah Carey's Album Buzz Grows, But Legal Battle With Brother Still Looms
While Mariah's upcoming album has fans counting down the days, the actress is still facing personal drama behind the scenes.
The Blast highlighted that Mariah is dealing with a lawsuit filed by her brother, Morgan Carey, who claims he was unfairly portrayed in her 2020 memoir, "The Meaning of Mariah Carey."
However, Mariah is not backing down. In April, she stood firm on her stance that every detail in the memoir was truthful. She says her accounts were based not just on her memories, but on stories shared by their mother and others who were familiar with their upbringing.
In a sworn declaration, she described Morgan as heavily involved in Manhattan's nightlife scene and claimed he frequently carried and distributed cocaine during that time.
Between the bold look and the buzz around Mariah Carey's new track, fans are more than ready for the whole album.

US Grammy winner Ciara becomes citizen of Benin under new slavery-descendants law

US singer Ciara has become one of the first public figures to be granted citizenship of Benin, under a new law offering nationality to the descendants of slaves. In an Instagram post the Grammy award-winner said she was "honoured", adding "thank you Benin for opening your arms and your heart to me". The citizenship scheme is part of an initiative by the small West African country to build ties with the African diaspora and boost cultural tourism. Ciara, known for R&B and pop hits such as Goodies and 1,2 Step, officially became a citizen at a ceremony in the city of Cotonou. "This act, which is symbolic, humane and historic, is not merely an administrative gesture. It is a gesture of the soul, a return to one's roots, a hand extended to those whom history, in its brutality, had torn from this land," the government said in a statement on Monday, following the ceremony. By enacting the My Afro Origins Law last year, Benin joined countries like Ghana and Guinea-Bissau in offering citizenship to people with an African ancestor who was taken from their homeland as part of the transatlantic slave trade. Descendants can apply to become a citizen via a recently launched website. Just last week, Benin appointed renowned American filmmaker Spike Lee and his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, a seasoned producer and author, as its ambassadors for African-Americans in the US. Benin's coastline is part of what was once known as the Slave Coast - a major departure point for enslaved Africans shipped across the Atlantic Ocean to the Americas. Between 1580 and 1727, the Kingdom of Whydah, a major slave-trading centre located on what is now Benin's coast, is estimated to have exported more than a million Africans to the US, the Caribbean and Brazil. Paris Hilton's $63M mansion buy led US home sales in June

Paris Hilton and her husband led the US real estate market in June with their pricey purchase of Mark Wahlberg's former megamansion. The mammoth Beverly Hills estate cost Hilton and her venture capitalist husband, Carter Reum, a cool $63 million. Their purchase topped out Redfin's top 10 list of the country's most expensive home sales, as did five other California-based transactions. Agents told CNBC the recent ranking reflects a pattern of luxury real estate regaining momentum in fire-ravaged Los Angeles. Advertisement 9 Paris Hilton, pictured in June. Hilton was candid about the loss in a post to her millions of Instagram followers. 'Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,' the heiress and influencer wrote. The sheer scale of her family's new home makes its eye-watering $63 million price a little more understandable. 9 A sun-lit dining room. Their success makes Mark Wahlberg's $55 million sale of the home in 2023 look sadly premature. Hilton and Reum's purchase is currently the fifth priciest home sale of 2025, according to Redfin. Nicole Plaxen, an agent with the Beverly Hills Estates, told CNBC that LA's luxury market is being driven by displaced homeowners like Hilton. Plaxen also noted a return in foreign buyers, especially from China. 9 The Palisades Fire claimed modest starter homes and A-lister mansions alike. London Entertainment for NY Post 9 Hilton closed on the home five months after losing her family's Malibu beach house. Paul Barnaby The other 50% of Redfin's chart-topping June sales took place elsewhere: Three in coastal Florida, one in Manhattan and another on Lake Tahoe's Nevada side. All 10 sold for more than $30 million. New York's appearance in the June rankings was credited to the sale of a 50-foot-wide mansion in Midtown Manhattan. The sprawling 22-bedroom residence just off Fifth Avenue was built for a cousin of J.P. Morgan during the city's Gilded Age. The seller, previously reported at real estate developer Orin Wilf, cinched a $38.2 million deal on the property. Neither Wilf's sale nor Hilton's purchase comes even close to the year's most expensive deal so far. That superlative belongs squarely with the $225 million sale of three adjacent beachfront properties in Naples, Florida. The April transaction marked the second-highest home sale ever in the US, trailing Ken Griffin's $238 million penthouse purchase at 220 Central Park South in early 2019.

Tate McRae And The Kid LAROI Appear To Have Broken Up

Calling all fans of Gen Z pop culture: It looks like Tate McRae and The Kid LAROI have officially broken up. Well, maybe. Tate and LAROI are both singers, from Canada and Australia respectively, and they first sparked dating rumours around January 2024. They went Instagram official in July that same year, and have since joined each other onstage and even collabed on songs together. But after months of no public sightings of the couple — including at Tate's birthday party — along with speculation that The Kid LAROI was spotted holding hands with someone else, the internet has been buzzing with breakup rumours. And it appears The Kid LAROI just confirmed those rumours. It all started when The Kid LAROI dropped a new song called "HOT GIRL PROBLEMS" on July 25. Some fans suspected the song might be about Tate, pointing to lyrics like "Love can't keep her / she make sure you see her," which seems to align with Tate's eye-catching, Britney-esque vibe. (Although other fans insist the song was written a long time ago, so like, you never know.) AND BTW, I LOVE HER FOR IT. I won't tolerate ANY Tate slander. So then, LAROI fans started responding to the lyrics, calling out Tate and saying that she "fumbled" him. This led to allegations from Tate fans that LAROI's team was "paying for slander tweets against Tate" through bots. "This is so pathetic," one Tate fan wrote. All this noise prompted a response from LAROI, shutting down the rumours that his team paid for "Tate slander" posts. "so yall know I have NOTHING to do with this," he wrote, "and I DO NOT co sign this behavior whatsoever. working to get these removed." Along with that message, he also posted a screenshot of a text conversation in a group chat called "LAROI SOCIAL," which we can assume is between him and his team. "Guys is this coming internally? If so can we please have these taken down," he sent in the text conversation. But then, in the same text, he appears to hint at their potential breakup. "Tate and I are on good terms," he wrote, "and this just looks messy / whack." LAROI's team responded to his message approvingly: "definitely didn't come from us that's fucked up." So from the sounds of it, LAROI and Tate are no more, but they're on "good terms." We love a respectful breakup!!! 👏 What are your thoughts on Tate McRae and The Kid LAROI's breakup?
