Jennifer Aniston gets vulnerable as she talks gate-crashing stalker, her dating life and Matthew Perry's death

Daily Mail4 hours ago
Jennifer Aniston offered a rare, unguarded look into her private life while reflecting on everything from bizarre dating rumors and a frightening stalking incident to the grief of losing longtime friend Matthew Perry.
During her vulnerable interview with Vanity Fair, the Friends star, 56, confessed she often wrestles with 'what to and not to share,' calling social media 'a constant struggle.'
Since her split from ex-husband Justin Theroux in 2018, Aniston hasn't been publicly linked to any confirmed love interests and rarely talks about her love life to the media.
Her friend Jason Bateman, when asked if he's ever played matchmaker for her, admitted to the outlet that he hasn't.
'It's not surprising to me that she's not some serial dater, not because she's overly picky or snobby,' he said. 'You don't need to be some superhero to grab her attention. If you are comfortable in your skin, she gravitates to you. The challenge is for a guy to see past her fame and charisma and presence and beauty—to not be distracted by that—and tune into the stuff at the deep core.'
Earlier this year, headlines linked her to The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal after they were photographed outside a West Hollywood restaurant and even to former President Barack Obama, for reasons no one seems quite sure of.
The rumor spread so far and wide that Emmy winner even addressed it on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

'Of all the calls you get from your publicist…and then it's that,' she said with a laugh as Kimmel showed her the cover of In Touch, which read 'The Truth About Jen & Barack!'
The actress, who insists she knows Michelle Obama better than her husband, recalled dining with the former First Lady just a month prior.
During their night out, the actress insisted the subject never came up.
'I don't think anyone really pays attention to reports like that if you're the subject of them,' she mused.
Sandra Bullock, a close friend, admits the two have tried to trace the origins of such outlandish stories.
'We try to figure out the genesis of where some of these stories come from…but 75 percent of the time, we just cannot. They're literally pulled out of the ether,' the Oscar winner explained.
Still, Bullock confessed she understands the fascination with her pal.
'She's so beloved that you go, "I want that person to have their person" even if that person doesn't want a person,' the mother-of-two told the publication.
While her rep declined to comment to Vanity Fair about the dating rumors, Aniston follows Curtis on social media, has liked his posts and in May shared a photo of his book
More recently, Aniston has been linked to wellness guru and hypnotherapist Jim Curtis, with reports claiming the two vacationed in Mallorca and Big Sur over the summer.
She had previously told Travel + Leisure she tried hypnosis to conquer her fear of flying.
While her rep declined to comment to Vanity Fair about the dating rumors, Aniston follows Curtis on social media, has liked his posts and in May shared a photo of his book Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide: A Workbook for Coding a New Consciousness.
Within days of paparazzi shots from the Mallorca trip, also attended by Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka, Curtis's name was splashed across thousands of online stories.
Aniston's boundaries were tested again this May when a man, 48, from Mississippi allegedly crashed his car into her gate.
Prosecutors say he had been sending her emails, voicemails, and social media messages for some time. Security detained him until police arrived.
He has pleaded not guilty to felony stalking and felony vandalism, and at press time was deemed mentally incompetent to stand trial.
'People are out of their minds,' Aniston said. 'Who wants to put that energy out there.' Her security detail, she adds, is 'not glamorous in any way. It's a necessity.'
Bullock, who endured her own terrifying stalker incident in 2014, stressed those experiences create a fortress mentality.
'It makes me think, "Do I really have to go outside and navigate the world?" … It's ongoing. It's not a one-off.'
For both actresses, fears once extended to flying.
'The two of us on a plane, it's the most pathetic thing to look at,' Bullock joked.
But during one difficult spring break trip, Aniston put her own fear aside to comfort Bullock.
'She just held onto my hand and goes, "This is just a bump" … I was like, "Who the fuck are you right now?"' she recalled.
Aniston says hypnotherapy and calming apps have helped her in the air, but her empathy for others can override her own fear.
'When there's someone in need of being calmed, I have such empathy for it that all of a sudden my fear goes out the window,' the star noted.
While reflecting on her career, Aniston says, 'What helped raise me is something I got to put into the world and help other people. If [Friends] was the only thing on my résumé, I would be very happy and blessed.'
The 2021 Friends reunion, she added, served as a final curtain call for the six cast members.
In 2023, that tight-knit group suffered a devastating loss when Matthew Perry died from 'the acute effects' of ketamine, with drowning a contributing factor.
'We did everything we could when we could,' Aniston said of efforts to help Perry through his long battle with addiction.
She continued: 'But it almost felt like we'd been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight. As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there's a part of me that thinks this is better. I'm glad he's out of that pain.'

Karoline Leavitt shares glimpse into 'mom life'

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has shared a glimpse into her life at home as a mother and wife - while juggling a return to work with her glam co-workers at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. On Sunday night, Leavitt, 27, took to her Instagram stories to share that she was making chicken piccata, a dish that consists of breaded chicken cutlets in a creamy lemon sauce. The former Congress hopeful lives with her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 59, and their one-year-old son, Nicholas Robert. 'Chicken piccata incoming...' Leavitt wrote on her Instagram story in a photo that showed off the ingredients she was using, along with an emoji of a chef. And it looks like many of her ingredients are actually Jeff Bezos-approved, as she included a variety of products from Whole Foods' in-house 365 brand. In 2017, Bezos' Amazon acquired the grocery giant for $13.7 billion. Of course, Leavitt was using chicken breasts by the 365 label, as well as organic angel hair pasta, capers and parsley. In addition, the mom-of-one had all-purpose flour, chicken stock, butter, minced garlic, lemon and olive oil in the lineup. It seemed to be a success, as the next video shared on her Instagram story was a close-up of the chicken simmering in a pot on the stove. She had covered the chicken breasts with slices of lemon and seasoning. 'If you could only smell my kitchen... delish!' Leavitt typed on top of the clip, adding in an emoji that was licking its lips. The pot she used, made by the cookware brand Carote, is also available for purchase on Amazon. Leavitt's weekend at home seemed like a moment of respite from the week before, after she announced that the White House would be building a brand new ballroom. That same week, she posted a snap on Instagram alongside her glamorous Trump aides Margo Martin and Meghan Bauer, cheekily captioning it, 'West Wing girls.' Martin is the Special Assistant to the President and Communications Advisor, while Bauer is the Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Presidential Scheduling. Leavitt posed in the middle of the two as they stood outside The White House, wearing a blue-and-red tweed mini dress by designer Maje, which retails for $565. The dress features a short, pleated skirt with gold buttons and black trim on the sleeveless top. Leavitt paired the look with nude heels. Next to her, Martin looked chic in a tan, flared-leg pantsuit, finishing off the look with suede heels complete with a buckle at the toe. Bauer, who was on the other side of Leavitt, wore tailored white pants and a navy blue jacket with gold buttons. She wore a similar pair of shoes to Martin, but in a pale blue color. The women on Donald Trump's team have previously been labeled as his 'stunning secret weapons,' which includes Martin and Leavitt. Last month, Martin showcased what a day in her life looks like working for The President. Martin started the day with a workout at the gym, followed by her morning skincare routine and putting on a dress with a blue top and denim skirt before heading into The White House. The glamorous aide showed viewers around her office, including her desk and giant tumbler cup with the presidential seal. Later that day, she sat with Leavitt on the flight to Des Moines to promote his 'Big Beautiful Bill.' For lunch, Martin ate salad topped with steak, hard-boiled eggs, red onion, cucumbers, corn, olives, and a creamy dressing, as well as a fruit tart for dessert. She showed Trump dancing on stage at the Iowa State Fairgrounds to kick off the 'America 250' celebration.

Kelly Clarkson gets emotional 12 days before ex-husband's death

A fan's recording of Kelly Clarkson tearing up on stage less than two weeks before her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's August 8 death has gone viral on TikTok . The 43-year-old singer — whose future talk show plans have been revealed — was performing at her Studio Sessions residency in Las Vegas on July 26 when her eyes swelled with emotion. The moment came as she prepared to sing the latest iteration of her 2015 song Piece by Piece. She attempted to pull herself together as she declared, 'Compartmentalization!' And the mother-of-two — who shared daughter River, 11, and son Remy, nine with her ex — tearfully told fans that after changing the lyrics in the wake of her divorce in 2023, she has since reworked the song again. 'I've never rewritten a song more and I probably never will,' she told fans, adding, 'I wrote this song with a lot of hope and projection for happiness and better than what was happening. 'And then, well, life set in and I had to change the lyrics. Everybody was like, "Wait, why aren't you singing this song?" And I was like, "Have you heard the lyrics?" That's fun. Embarrassing.' The song was initially penned with Kelly's estranged father in mind as she sang about how Blackstock was a better father and partner. She continued her explanation, 'I ended up changing the lyrics. We did it one time, I did a residency here, and then I was like, "You know what, that sounded a little angry," so I just wanted to explain how it feels now. I'm 43. I've done some therapy, and I changed the lyrics now and I think it's perfect. I promise. I'm not gonna change it again.' In 2023, as she and Brandon were in the throes of their divorce, Clarkson restructured the lyrics, singing, 'I just walk away when they ask for money. I take care of me 'cause I love me. Piece by piece I restored my faith that a heart can still beat even when it breaks.' And this year she sang, 'I'm learning everyday how to love me. I let go of the shame that you taught me. Piece by piece I restored the faith that a heart can still beat even if it breaks.' The American Idol winner told her audience, 'It just represents, kind of, I don't know... I feel like we grow up, right? And this is the more grown up version of it.' But she got choked up, stating, 'I'm really trying to pull it together,' before she eventually said, 'Screw it, let's just sing it. This is Piece by Piece.' The fate of Kelly 's eponymous talk show was revealed following her ex-husband's tragic death at age 48 from the skin cancer melanoma. Despite the family tragedy, the Emmy-winning talk show will return for season seven in September, TMZ reported on Friday. In addition to Kelly and their kids, the talent manager is also survived by his pregnant daughter Savannah , 23, and son Seth with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth. A representative for the family confirmed Blackstock's death in a statement on Thursday which read: 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. 'We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.' In a statement shared online on Wednesday, Clarkson revealed a health-related issue with Blackstock forced her to postpone her Las Vegas residency. 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,' she wrote. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. 'I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,' she concluded.

Chat show host blasts Trump as he explains why he got Italian citizenship

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has revealed he obtained Italian citizenship, expressing his dismay over Donald Trump 's potential second term in office. Kimmel, a long-standing critic of Donald Trump, shared this information on Sarah Silverman 's podcast, noting that many Americans disapproving of Trump are seeking citizenship elsewhere. He stated that he welcomes those who change their minds about supporting Donald Trump, emphasising the difficulty of admitting one was wrong. This comes after popular podcaster Joe Rogan, who previously endorsed Donald Trump, recently criticised the president's deportation policies, particularly concerning non-criminals. Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that Kimmel, along with Jimmy Fallon, will soon lose their jobs, suggesting that anti-Trump comedy is failing.
