Mega 90s fad appears on Kmart shelves: 'OMG I missed these so much'

Nostalgic shoppers are taking a trip down memory lane after spotting a classic children's toy at Kmart.
Sea-Monkeys are quietly making their way back into homes across Australia, proving to be the perfect gift or spontaneous purchase for curious kids and adults alike.
The retailer has been quietly selling the kits for years, but some shoppers have only recently started noticing them on shelves after stumbling across them in stores.
The novelty aquarium pets were first introduced in 1960 but they peaked in popularity during the 1990s.
Most '90s kid will remember the novelty of pouring a packet of dry powdered eggs into a tank of water, watching them hatch into tiny Sea Monkeys within days and feeding them growth food to keep them alive.
Sea-Monkeys are a hybrid breed of brine shrimp that can be kept in a small tank as a low-maintenance pet.
Customers can now relive their childhood memories with the iconic Ocean Zoo Playset, which includes a tank, feeding spoon, three sachets and instructions - all for $18.
But if you're looking to take your Sea-Monkeys to another level, shoppers can grow their pets inside a 'magic castle' or 'on Mars'.

In addition to the feeding spoon, three pouches and instructions, the $22 tanks comes with a bonus water pump and a magnifying lid.
Many have given the Sea-Monkeys 4.5 out of 5 stars, with dozens saying the toys bring back fond childhood memories.
'Just as I remember as a kid,' one said.
'These are fantastic gifts for all ages. Reminds me of my childhood,' another shared.
'Perfect! Only had for a little while and they've hatched, grown and now having babies. Literally so entertaining,' one added.
'Waited for these to come in stock and was so happy when I got them. My Sea-Monkeys are thriving,' another revealed.
Many parents have purchased the toys for their own kids, with one mum saying: 'My daughter saw this on TikTok and really wanted one. Easy to set up and the monkeys grew faster than expected. Happy child, happy mum.'
'Such a cute way to introduce pets to kids. They are not easy to keep alive though. I suggest not using all the eggs in one go,' another warned.
'It's a science project for the kids. Kids are loving the job of feeding the growing Sea-Monkeys,' one added.
Sea-Monkeys are a type of brine shrimp that are naturally found in salt lakes.
The history of Sea-Monkeys stems from 1957 after Harold von Braunhut stumbled across a tank of 'overlooked' brine shrimp that were used as fish food in a pet store.
The American man saw a niche in the market for 'instant pets' that could teach children about the oddities of nature.
And so he began experimenting on how to 'preserve' and 'reanimate' them in his tiny lab, and in 1960 introduced them to the world as 'Instant Life'.
'And Sea-Monkeys indeed exhibit. How they come to life, however, is a highly guarded, patented secret interplay of osmosis, controlled pH fluctuation and chemical formulations. The "Original" formula is kept under lock and key, and still made in the USA to this day,' the website says.
Initially, the toys didn't sell at all after the brand struggled to get sellers on board.
'So Harold got the idea to place an ad for "Instant Life" inside comic books to market directly to kids,' it said.
At the time, the toys could be ordered by mail directly from the Sea-Monkey headquarters.
'Overnight, orders were flying in and the Sea-Monkeys began their long career striking the imaginations of millions of children.'

EXCLUSIVE Reality star calls out Married At First Sight groom over 'disgusting' behaviour at celebrity event: 'It was gross'

A reality star has accused a Married At First Sight groom of making inappropriate and sexually charged comments towards her during a recent event. In a now-viral Instagram story, Beauty and the Geek's Aimee Woolley - who is the fiancée of former groom Dean Wells - told fans she was left shaken by the unsolicited attention. 'Out of nowhere, this one person comes up to me and says they want to absolutely destroy me in the room,' she said in the emotional clip. 'They kept obsessing over me, saying how stunning I am, how much they love my white teeth and blonde hair. It was really, really strange behaviour. I've never had someone be that obsessed with me. It was weird.' Aimee revealed the person in question was a well-known figure from MAFS 2025, though she stopped short of naming him. In a now-viral Instagram story, Woolley - who is the fiancée of former groom Dean Wells - told fans she was left shaken by the unsolicited attention Her fiancé, Dean, said that the groom in question made the remarks shortly after he had stepped away. 'Just after that [he] was saying super creepy shit to my fiancée,' Dean wrote on Instagram. 'Funny how he waited for me to walk away before doing it too.' Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Aimee elaborated on the uncomfortable incident. 'At the start of the night, he went up to Dean acting like they were best mates. Once Dean had walked off, he said he would destroy me in the bedroom and that I deserve better. It's disturbing and disgusting to talk to an engaged woman like this.' She added that a friend was standing next to her at the time and witnessed the entire exchange. 'I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but this time was just too far,' Dean explained. 'He acted like he was my mate, then made sexually aggressive comments to my fiancée behind my back. That's not okay.' Aimee said she felt violated and disrespected. 'He said things like, "Why are you with Dean?' and "I'd destroy you in the bedroom,"' she claimed. 'He wouldn't stop complimenting me in this obsessive way, talking about my teeth and hair. It was like he was trying to psych me out.' Aimee says she posted the video on Instagram not to cause drama, but to speak up for herself and others. 'He's used to getting away with this. But not this time. I'm not scared of him and I'm not going to stay quiet. It's unacceptable.' She concluded, 'I made my story because this crossed a line. It wasn't a compliment, it wasn't flirting - it was gross.' After the Instagram account MAFS Uncensored reposted Aimee's video, fans flooded the comments with messages of support and concern. 'Ew… do blokes really think women want to be spoken to like that?' one fan asked.

Dave Hughes loses it as he rips Carlton AFL team to shreds in wild TV outburst about poisonous mushrooms and machetes

Comedian Dave Hughes has launched a blistering and hilarious attack on his favourite AFL team in a wild appearance on Channel Seven on Wednesday night. The 54-year-old couldn't restrain his anger over the recent performances of his club, Carlton, as they struggle through yet another poor season and reel from last weekend's loss to North Melbourne. Hughes even referenced the murder trial of Erin Patterson, who stands accused of poisoning three people to death by feeding them deadly mushrooms, as he tore strips off the Blues on The Front Bar. 'I can't do it anymore, it's no good for my health. Every weekend from now I'm going to go to the Wonthaggi area and forage for mushrooms,' he said. 'I just think it's a healthier way. Cook them up and have a good time.' When host Mick Molloy pointed out that the Blues have a lot of players out hurt, Hughes went off again. 'Have we? Well, they're deliberately getting injured. Soldiers who shoot themselves in the foot to get out of wars,' he replied. 'Mitch McGovern, he went to hospital in an ambulance at halftime and the hospital said, "There's nothing wrong with you, mate". 'That ambulance could've been used for people who've had heart attacks.' Host Andrew Maher then played footage of Hughes leaving Carlton's shattering round-one loss to Richmond before the final siren, setting off another series of jokes, including one referencing Melbourne's crime crisis. 'We were premiership favourites that night playing against an under-12s side. We were 41 points up and we lost,' Hughes said. 'I left with 30 seconds to go, our team left at halftime. 'I walked home that night, I did, from the MCG to St Kilda, in the dark, on my own, true story. 'I was looking for guys with machetes, I couldn't find any.' Hughes then moved on to referencing the Israel-Iran war. 'If Donald Trump is interested, let's get one of his stealth bombers. We fully insured at [Carlton's headquarters] Ikon Park?' he said. The shattering loss to lowly North Melbourne last Saturday has led to furious fans - and Hawks and Swans great Buddy Franklin - calling for coach Michael Voss to be sacked. 'I'm going to put this out there, I know this is a big call, I don't think he sees out the year,' Franklin said on Monday's instalment of his podcast, The Buddy & Shane Show. 'I think they've got a pretty good list, I do. I think the issue is the messaging is not getting through to the players. 'I think there needs to be change and we've said it before, we're all about the players and coaches, but I think this is a change that needs to happen, and it needs to happen ASAP. 'All of the Carlton supporters would probably say the same. I'm probably speaking on behalf of them. 'I think there needs to be a change and it'll probably happen in the next few weeks, is my tip.'

Bindi Irwin shocks fans as she reveals unusual accent during interview

She might be an Aussie icon, but Bindi Irwin sounded remarkably different in a recent interview. The wildlife conservationist, who has been spending a lot of time in the US over the last few months, appeared on the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast where she discussed her four-year-old daughter Grace's love of kids show Bluey. In the interview, the 26-year-old debuted a notable American twang as she spoke about the children's show. 'How big is Bluey in your household?' US-based host Kylie asked her. 'Oh my goodness,' Bindi replied back, mimicking the interviewer with a thick American accent. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Bluey is life. Bluey is everything,' she added. Bindi's Australian accent slowly came back as the interview progressed, however her initial twang reflected just how much time Bindi has been spending in the States. The conservationist recently shared a heartwarming family picture as she visited Disney World in Florida with her husband Chandler Powell and their daughter Grace. Bindi could be seen posing with her brood in front of the theme park's iconic Cinderella castle in a sweet photo shared to Instagram. Chandler, 28, carried little Grace, who was dressed for the occasion in a sparkling frock and a Mickey Mouse hat, as Bindi held her husband's hand and smiled. 'May was an incredible month,' Chandler captioned the family photo. The former wake-board champion then listed some moments the family shared, including Bindi's shock medical emergency which emerged as a blessing in disguise. 'Visiting my family in Florida, Bindi getting life changing surgery, Oregon adventures, and Disney all together,' he wrote. 'Very grateful,' Chandler finished off the post, which has garnered over 33,000 likes. In May, Bindi was rushed to hospital just hours after touching down in Las Vegas for a gala honouring her late father Steve Irwin. She suffered a ruptured appendix and was raced into surgery, missing the prestigious event she was due to attend alongside brother Robert Irwin and mother Terri Irwin. In an Instagram post, Bindi revealed while her appendix was removed, doctors discovered another 14 lesions from her endometriosis. These were also successfully removed. She also had a large hernia repaired which had developed after giving birth to daughter Grace in 2021.
