Infobip bolsters pact with Oracle
KUALA LUMPUR: Global cloud communications platform Infobip has strengthened its partnership with Oracle to deliver seamless conversational experiences for businesses worldwide.
The collaboration enables Oracle customers and partners to access Infobip's omnichannel messaging services through Oracle Integration, making it easier to manage and deploy new communication channels.
Oracle vice president of product management Deepak Arora said the partnership supports Oracle's vision of driving artificial intelligence innovation across businesses.
"Our new collaboration with Infobip will help enterprises simplify connectivity and provide integration between the Infobip messaging platform and any applications using Oracle Integration.
"This enables organisations to integrate any apps, data and services, anywhere," he said.
As part of the partnership, Infobip has introduced its Omnichannel Messaging Adapter for Oracle Integration to support a broad range of messaging platforms, including WhatsApp and rich communication services.
Infobip has also developed a prebuilt use case, known as the Accelerator, for Oracle's B2C Service contact center.
Infobip chief alliances officer Veselin Vuković said both services enable customer support teams to engage and offer a smooth two-way communication experience with low or no-code setup requirements.

Company director loses RM137,200 in fake govt tender scam in Kemaman
CHUKAI, June 1 — A company director lost RM137,200 after falling victim to a syndicate offering a fictitious government tender. Kemaman police chief Supt Mohd Razi Rosli said the 52-year-old man was contacted via WhatsApp on May 13 by someone posing as a representative of a public university in Kelantan, offering a tender to supply 20 air-conditioning units and a power generator. 'To gain the victim's trust, the suspect sent four purchase orders allegedly issued by the secretary-general of the Higher Education Ministry, along with contact details of a supposed supplier,' he said in a statement today. The victim believed the offer and made seven bank transfers to an account under the name Gertrude Chee over a five-day period starting May 27. He later discovered the tender was a scam. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating. Police urge the public to verify any tender offers with the relevant authorities before making financial transactions. — Bernama

YWM Denies Involvement In Fundraising Scam Offering Cash Returns For Donations
KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia (YWM) has denied any involvement in fundraising activities that promise cash rewards in return for donations. YWM, in a statement today, clarified that such activities were carried out by a scam syndicate misusing the names of YWM and the Tabung Musa'adah JAKIM-YWM to collect donations illegally. 'This scam uses an online marketing platform, where members of the public are invited to join WhatsApp and Telegram groups, and are then asked or coerced into making donations with the promise of cash rewards in return. 'YWM stresses that it has never entered into any form of collaboration, agreement or recognition with the online marketing platform for the collection of donations under Tabung Musa'adah JAKIM-YWM, Tabung Sa'adah JAKIM-YWM, or any other fund or waqf initiative organised by YWM,' the statement said. YWM also reminded the public not to be deceived by any offers, invitations, or advertisements for waqf contributions via online marketing platforms, WhatsApp groups, Telegram, or any other unauthorised channels. YWM also said that all official donation matters could be conducted through its official website: as well as its official social media platforms: (Facebook), (Instagram), (X), and (TikTok). According to the statement, YWM will not hesitate to take legal action against any parties found misusing the name of Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia or YWM products for fraudulent purposes.
