Jr NTR is preparing for a major transformation as he takes on the iconic role of Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema, in an upcoming film directed by RRR filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
According to recent reports, the project's script has now been finalised after months of work.
A source close to the production shared that Rajamouli, along with his son SS Karthikeya and producer Varun Gupta, recently presented the final draft to Jr NTR. The actor was reportedly "blown away" by the script, especially by the lesser-known stories about Phalke's life and journey.
'The story chronicles the birth and rise of Indian cinema, and NTR was surprised with the detailing. He is excited to play the Father of Indian cinema on the big screen,' said the source.
The source further added, 'NTR Jr has utmost love and respect for not just SS Rajamouli, but also his son, SS Karthikeya (Showing Business), and producer partner Varun Gupta (Max Studios). He heard the narration, and even got into a prolonged discussion about the script, screenplay and treatment.'
The film is expected to shed light on the early days of Indian cinema and honour the man who pioneered it, with Jr NTR stepping into a role that is both historic and emotionally rich.
The Devara actor is also all set for a collaboration with Prashanth Neel as well. The two are joining hands for a magnum opus. The highly anticipated film, tentatively titled NTRNeel has officially locked its release date.As per the makers, the film will be out in theatres on June 25, 2026.
Although the plot is still under wraps, the film is being described as a thrilling mix of action, drama, and mass appeal. It is touted to be one of the biggest productions in the history of Indian cinema.
Backed by the esteemed Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, NTRNeel is shaping up to be a grand cinematic spectacle, comparable to the scale and impact of the KGF franchise. The project is being financed by Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju.
Jr NTR was last seen in the global blockbuster RRR, which made history at the Academy Awards. The film's song Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song, becoming the first track from an Indian—and indeed, any Asian—film to win in this category.

UK-based kirtan artist and bhakti yoga teacher Radhika Das will tour nine Indian cities this November with Silence in Sound , a series of live mantra meditation gatherings. The tour, which spans New Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore, Bengaluru and Mumbai, will blend traditional devotional singing with storytelling and guided meditation. The events aim to offer accessible spiritual experiences rooted in ancient Vedic practices. Each two-hour session will feature call-and-response mantra chanting, supported by an ensemble mixing classical Indian and contemporary instruments, including harmonium, mridanga, saxophone and bass guitar. Radhika Das has previously performed at international festivals and venues including Bhakti Fest, World Yoga Festival, The British Museum and Union Chapel. With more than 50 million digital streams, his global work has centred on using sound as a medium for connection and reflection. 'This is a homecoming,' said Das ahead of the tour. 'These chants have ancient roots here. My goal is to create a space where people can reconnect with that legacy.' The performances are designed for a wide audience, requiring no prior experience in meditation or chanting. Organisers note that the carefully selected venues are chosen for their acoustic quality and spiritual resonance. Ramayana: Did Arun Govil subtly slam Ranbir Kapoor for playing Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's war drama?

Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-led Ramayana is one of the most awaited Bollywood films right now. It features a star-studded ensemble and has been making headlines even before its release. The latest actor to be roped in the war drama is Vivek Oberoi. Now, Arun Govil took a subtle dig at Ranbir for playing the role of Lord Ram. Arun Govil rose to fame with Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan where he played the role of Lord Ram. However, in Nitesh Tiwari's mythological drama he will be seen in the role of King Dashrath. In a recent interview with NDTV, Arun Govil said, 'Three-four people tried recreating it, but they were not successful. I don't think in our lifetime someone should try to recreate Ramayan.' Taking a subtle dig at Ranbir Kapoor, the actor shared, 'As far as some actor playing Ram (is concerned), all the available actors, all the stars at this moment – I don't think anyone is suitable. Maybe you can find someone outside the industry.' Earlier, while speaking to Hindustan Times, Sunil Lahri expressed his disappointment over Arun Govil portraying Dashrath in the upcoming film. He felt that by taking on this role, he is diminishing the iconic image he built as Lord Ram. Sunil added that if he were offered a similar role, he would have declined it. Referring to Arun as an elder brother, he mentioned that out of respect, he wouldn't have accepted any other part either. Meanwhile, apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Arun Govil, Ramayana also stars KGF star Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaykay, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha and Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva. Apart from them, the film also stars Ravi Dubey, Indira Krishnan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. Ramayana will be released in two parts in the theater. The first part is locked to hit the theaters in Diwali 2026. Meanwhile, Part Two will be released on Diwali 2027. Both parts are being filmed simultaneously, in one go, and are in production currently.
