Cillian Murphy and Daniel Craig in talks for prison drama
US entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says the film has been described as "a two-hander set in a prison" with a production start eyed for later this year.
The news was first reported by the US entertainment trade publication Deadline.
The Hollywood Reporter says Chazelle had been working on a planned Leonardo DiCaprio-starring biopic of the stunt rider Evel Knievel but has since pivoted to the prison project.
"At one point, Chazelle was working with DiCaprio on the prison project before the two focused on Knievel," The Hollywood Reporter adds.
Murphy was seen on cinema screens in Small Things Like These last year and has since completed filming on the Peaky Blinders movie.

Jeff Bezos wants wife 'front and centre' of next Bond film
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reportedly is 'obsessed' with making his wife 'front and centre' of the next James Bond film. The multi-billionaire wants his wife, Lauren Sanchez, to be cast as the next Bond girl and considering Amazon now own the rights to the franchise, it could very well happen. Today's top videos STORY CONTINUES BELOW The couple got married earlier this year in a huge event that took over Venice in Italy. A Hollywood insider told Rob Shuter's newsletter: 'He's obsessed. This isn't just fantasy casting – Jeff wants her on screen, period.' But she's Jeff's muse, and when you spend $8 billion, you get what you want.' Amazon acquired MGM Studios for $8 billion back in 2021, giving one of the world's richest people a lot of power over what will go on in the 26th instalment of the franchise. Pic: Marco Bertorello/AFP via Getty Images Lauren is a former journalist turned author, who also has a pilot's licence and is the founder of Black Ops Aviation. Casting her as one of the leads in the next Bond movie would no doubt incite a fair bit of fury from 007 fans. The film is currently in development, being written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Dune's Denis Villeneuve. Daniel Craig as 007. Pic: Danjaq/Eon Productions/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock It is still unknown who will be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig ended his journey with the character in 2021's 'No Time To Die'. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and James Norton have been rumoured as frontrunners for the part, while Paul Mescal's name has also been thrown into the mix. However, The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that Scott Rose-Marsh, a red-headed 37-year-old, was 'brought in sometime in late June to read sides from 1995's 'GoldenEye', presumably for just-hired director Denis Villeneuve'. The relatively unknown actor's biggest credits so far are 'Krays: Code of Silence' and 'Wolves of War'. According to THR, Scott was given the instruction to not 'impersonate a previous Bond'. When Daniel Craig was initially cast as the iconic spy, there was initial backlash over his blonde hair – which was seen as a drastic change to the character's original description. If THR's rumours are true and Scott lands the role, it will be interesting to see the reaction to the first red-headed 007. The Bond reboot has a tentative release date set for 2028.

First look at Cillian Murphy's powerful new Netflix film Steve
The teaser for Cillian Murphy's highly anticipated next film has just dropped ahead of the movie's release on Netflix. The Oscar-winner's new movie, Steve, tells the story of a devoted headteacher of the same name Steve as he battles to save his last-chance reform school from closure while grappling with his own mental health. The film also follows the story of Shy - a troubled teen who attends the school - and his struggles to reconcile his past with an uncertain future. The movie, set in the mid-90s, is directed by Tim Mielants and is based on Max Porter's Sunday Times Bestseller Shy, which Cillian said "broke his heart". Cillian is not just playing the movie's main character; he is also producing it alongside his collaborator Alan Moloney. The pair founded Big Things Films, their independent and story-driven production company, back in 2022. They aim to collaborate with filmmakers and writers who have 'something to say' and are passionate about what they do. Their first movie, Small Things Like These, was set against the backdrop of the Magdalene Laundries in 1980s Ireland and received rave reviews from critics. It featured Cillian himself alongside Cork actress Eileen Walsh, and was also directed by Tim Mielants. Steve will be in select theatres from September 19 before being released on Netflix on October 3.
