Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya began Punjab Kings' chase of 191 runs in the final of IPL 2025 in steady fashion against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Tuesday.
Prabhsimran rode his luck as he was dropped on 9 runs by Romario Shepherd off Josh Hazlewood's bowling. Arya wasn't as lucky with Phil Salt pulling off a blinder in the deep to get rid of the southpaw as Josh Inglis walked in to bat.
Virat Kohli top-scored with 43 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished their innings at 190/9 in 20 overs in the final. Arshdeep Singh bowled a memorable final over in which he took three wickets and allowed just three runs. Kyle Jamieson took 3/48 as Punjab Kings continued to land regular blows to keep RCB in check.
This was after PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer has won the coin toss and opted to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the title clash. Both the teams are unchanged for this big clash in Ahmedabad.
RCB made it to the final by securing an 8-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the first qualifier match played on Thursday, May 29, whereas PBKS managed to get the better of Mumbai Indians by five wickets in Qualifier 2 played on Sunday, June 1.

RCB announce Rs 10 lakh aid for families of Bengaluru stampede victims
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Thursday announced financial support of Rs 10 lakh for the families of each of the 11 deceased during the stampede that ensued outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Forty seven people were injured in addition to the 11 who died in the incident that occurred during RCB's celebration after they won the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) the previous day in Ahmedabad. The franchise and the Karnataka state government have since come under fire. 'The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family,' said RCB in a statement on Thursday.
