Edison Partners was MoneyLion's first institutional investor in 2016, supporting its multi-stage enterprise growth into a global fintech leader of next generation, personalized financial products. Edison has helped MoneyLion transform into a top consumer finance super app with 20 million users, and a premier content, embedded finance, and business-to-consumer financial marketplace platform.
"In our persistent drive to identify profitable growth opportunities, we zeroed in on co-founder and CEO Dee Choubey's vision and MoneyLion's unique potential to bring previously out-of-reach financial services to everyday Americans,' said Chris Sugden, managing partner at Edison Partners. "MoneyLion became a force in financial technology—leading the industry's waves of rebundling and digitizing consumer finance and wealth management — and has now generated one of our firm's top five largest capital returns. We're proud to have supported MoneyLion's journey and its exceptional team."
MoneyLion has become the go-to destination for millions of Americans making important personal financial decisions. Since Edison's investment nearly a decade ago, MoneyLion has democratized access for working Americans' to financial services, created a B2B2C infrastructure through the acquisition of embedded finance marketplace Even Financial (rebranded to Engine by MoneyLion), and expanded its digital ecosystem for consumer finance, launching MoneyLion Checkout, a new marketplace solution that lets consumers search, apply for, and complete transactions instantly across numerous third-party financial products, all within the unified MoneyLion user experience.
The company's membership grew 700 percent to over 20 million customers, became a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021, and was named one of CNBC's World's Top Fintech Companies.
'Edison Partners played a critical, foundational role in helping MoneyLion move swiftly in its growth trajectory,' said Choubey. 'Chris and the Edison team consistently showed up as true partners guiding our go-to-market strategy, advising on capital markets, and working closely with our finance and accounting teams on our journey to be a public company. I thank them for their partnership as MoneyLion grew rapidly and profitably. Thanks to their operating team, a portfolio company has a huge advantage in the market when they partner with Edison as their investor and partner.'
Edison Partners' exit of MoneyLion marks the third major exit to a strategic or private equity buyer since the start of the year. Additional exits include its minority stake sale of healthcare technology provider Zelis to Mubadala Investment Company for a 38x return, and last month it exited RapidDeploy, the leading provider of cloud-native next-generation 911 mapping, mobile, and analytics solutions for public safety agencies, to Motorola Solutions.

Kyivstar Hopes to Shine in New York as Ukraine Peace Talks Begin
Shares in Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar will start trading in New York today hoping that peace talks to end the devastating war in the country will significantly boost the company's value. Chief executive officer Oleksandr Komarov said ahead of the Nasdaq listing that the summit between President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, scheduled for August 15 th, would help drive investment into Ukraine if an end to the three-year war is found. Invest in Recovery 'We will be the best asset for the international investment community to invest in Ukraine, to invest in the Ukrainian recovery, to invest in the Ukrainian support,' Komarov said. Komarov said the company chose Nasdaq, where its Dubai-based parent VEON (VEON) is also listed, over London or Warsaw because it is even more important to 'strengthen the link between the United States and Ukraine rather than between Ukraine and Europe.' VEON shares were up 1.6% in pre-market trading. The company has also strengthened its U.S. ties during the conflict, appointing former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to its board and signing a deal with Elon Musk's Starlink for satellite services. Kyivstar, which has been given a pro forma valuation of $2.3 billion, carried out the listing by merging with fintech entrepreneur Betsy Cohen's Cohen Circle special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). The company raised $178 million, confirming earlier reports that it expected up to $200 million. VEON will retain a majority stake in the mobile operator. People's IPO The company has previously stated that it has had extremely strong support for the Kyivstar listing from U.S. authorities, Ukraine and the European Union. Indeed, it has described the listing as 'the people's IPO', hoping that investors around the world would show their support for Ukraine. Kyivstar is the market-leading mobile operator in Ukraine with 24 million subscribers. Analysts agreed that the narrative around the deal was built around Ukraine's postwar reconstruction and digital infrastructure's role in that recovery. However, investors will also likely question the strength of that recovery and the likelihood of any peace deal between Ukraine and Russia holding over the long-term.

Why Coherent Stock Tanked by Nearly 20% on Thursday
Key Points The company's top- and bottom-line growth was robust in its fiscal fourth quarter of 2025. The two metrics also topped the consensus analyst estimate; however, investors found certain developments worrying. 10 stocks we like better than Coherent › Photonics company Coherent (NYSE: COHR) wasn't a bright light on the stock exchange Thursday. Despite delivering a second quarter that (slightly) beat analyst estimates, factors such as growth deceleration in a key business segment raised some concern. With that, more than a few market players assertively sold out of the stock to leave it with a loss of almost 20% on the day. That compared quite unfavorably to the more or less flat trajectory of the S&P 500 index. A double beat wasn't good enough For its fiscal Q4 of 2025, Coherent's revenue was $1.53 billion, notching a new record for the company. That figure was also 16% higher year over year. The company's non-GAAP (adjusted) net income grew more modestly, advancing by nearly 9% to $192 million or an even $1.00 per share. Both headline figures came in slightly higher than the consensus analyst estimates of $1.51 billion for revenue and $0.92 for adjusted earnings per share (EPS). Coherent attributed the improvements to the liveliness of certain revenue drivers, such as artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. However, in a new research note on the company, analyst Vivek Arya from Bank of America Securities pointed out that the company's revenue growth in the data center space was slowing. According to reports he wrote, this was 24% in Q4, but 39%, 46%, and 58% in the three preceding frames. This was one of the factors that inspired Arya to downgrade his recommendation on the stock to neutral from his previous buy. Modeling a better first quarter Coherent management proffered guidance for its current (first) quarter. It believes revenue will fall between $1.46 billion and $1.6 billion, and adjusted EPS will come in at $0.93 to $1.13. Both ranges start well above Q4 of fiscal 2024's $1.31 billion on the top line and adjusted EPS of $0.61. The average analyst estimates of, respectively, $1.55 billion and $1.03 per share for the present quarter are within the two guidance ranges. Should you buy stock in Coherent right now?
